CCMC-OCC4 Swallowtail

We have another fun color challenge for you over on Create with Connie and Mary Spring Edition! Grab your stamps and play along! We've been featuring Nature sets in the Spring and Sale-A-Bration minis this week.

I love the Swallowtail butterfly that is in the Spring Mini. It makes such a pretty background.

Here are the details on my card.

The Crumb Cake cardstock is cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half to make base card.
The Daffodil Delight is cut 3 1/2 x 5 1/2. I added a 1/2 x 5 1/2" trim of Midnight Muse cardstock to both the top and bottom to look like a layer.
I stamped the Swallowtail with Crumb Cake towards the right side of the Daffodil Delight, then stamped the greeting from Feels Good iin Midnight Muse towards the left side.
I wrapped Linen Thread several times around and tied a knot on the front.
To get the Marina Mist in there, I stamped the butterfly from Bloomin' Marvelous in Marina Mist and punched it with the Petite Butterfly Punch, adding two Rhinestone Jewels for the body. It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Nice, clean and simple card to put together! I need to use that Swallowtail butterfly some more!

CCMC239 – Bloomin’ Marvelous

Happy Valentine's Day! We have a fun sketch challenge for you over on Create with Connie and Mary! Hope you play along! Make sure to check out the rest of the Thursday Challenge Team and be prepared to be inspired!

Here's mine…no, not a Valentine. I'm kind of done with those by now. I must admit…I did another card first, then changed it out to this one. I'll post the first one I made on Friday! lol! You can tell me which one you like better!

This is what I did!

I started with 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Sahara Sand cardstock. I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit along the right edge, then embossed it with the Adorning Accent folder.
I layered a 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Sycamore Street DSP on the inside edge of the card so it shows thru to the front.
I stamped the greeting from Feels Good stamp set in Island Indigo on the front of the Sahara Sand card base.
The Bloomin' Marvelous flowers were stamped with Tangerine Tango on Whisper White, then cut out.
I punched the Blossom Punch from Summer Starfruit cardstock and a portion of the Blossom from Island Indigo cardstock. I added the Summer Starfruit to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals, then tucked the smaller Bloomin' Marvelous flowers around it. The Island Indigo Blossom I cut off two petals and tucked it behind.
I flattened the Soda Pop Top with the Big Shot, then punched a 1" circle of the same DSP for the center.
The butterfly from Bloomin' Marvelous was stamped with Island Indigo Ink, then punched with the Petite Butterfly punch and placed with Stampin' Dimensional.
Finally, I added a trio of small Pearls for the butterfly's body and trios of small pearls to each of the Bloomin' Marvelous flowers.

CCMC237 – Vintage Verses

Yes!!! It's Sale-A-Bration time and Vintage Verses is one of my FAVORITES! I decided to use it for the Sketch Challenge today over on Create with Connie and Mary. Come play along…don't be afraid, our Challenge Team has LOTS of great ideas using the sketch to give you inspiration!

That Mary…she loves square cards…lol! So, instead of converting it to regular size, I went ahead and did mine up square, too! I love the colorful patterns in the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP. Now…second guessing myself, I would probably do this in Daffodil Delight instead of Pink Pirouette…but I wasn't going to re-do it.

Here are the details!

The base card is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2, folded in half to form the square.
The Whisper White is 4 x 4. I added a 1" x 4" of green dotted Designer Paper from S&S. I also added the Melon Mambo 3/8 Striped Ribbon along the front and secured it in the back.
I cut a 2 x 3 piece of Designer Paper, then cut 3/4" off one side and 1-1/2 on the other side to give me the 4 pieces. (So in other words, 2 pieces of 3/4 x 1 1/2 and 2 pieces of 1 1/4 x 1 1/2") Hope that makes sense.
I stamped the greeting from Vintage Verses (SAB set) in Black Stazon on Pink Pirouette, then cut it with the Window Frame framelit. I added a large Rhinestone jewel to the filigree.

Day 6 – Bloomin’ Marvelous

This card is a little different for me! Remember when we didn't have a wonderful selection of designer papers like we do now? We used to "make" our own designer paper using stamps. That's what I did here with the Bloomin' Marvelous stamps…available during Sale-A-Bration in just a few more days!

Here are the details:

The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 of Pink Pirouette cardstock, folded in half.
I layered on Cherry Cobbler cut to 4 x 5 1/4.
The 3 7/8 x 5 1/8" Whisper White panel is stamped with Cherry Cobbler flowers, Pink Pirouette butterflies and Lucky Limeade leaves randomly all over.
I cut a 2 x 5" strip of Lucky Limeade and embossed with the Honeycomb folder, then cut the flag end.
The Heart is punched out of the Oval cut with the oval Framelits. Under it is a piece of Whisper White stamped with the flower and leaf stamps. The flower was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I stamped Miracles Happen in Cherry Cobbler on Pink Pirouette and punched it with the Decorative Label punch, put it back in and punched so that it was a smaller size.
Finally, I added a Pink Pirouette butterfly with rhinestone body.

What do you think? Do you like it? I think it turned out pretty cool!

Outlined Occasions

Sorry I've been an inconsistent blogger lately. I've been clearing out my studio getting ready to paint. Everything had to come down off the walls since cabinets will be replacing a lot of the open shelving I had. But, my husband got the painting finished yesterday and it is BEAUTIFUL! I love the color…nice and bright and springy! It is amazing what a difference it made in the room. This was is exactly how I imaged! It looks wonderful with the new cabinet color and I'm getting so excited to get my room done. The flooring is scheduled to be installed on Monday so I need to clear out my temporary area this week, too. Cabinets are still about 3-4 weeks out from being installed, but it is getting closer! Then, on top of everything, taxes. YUK!!! That is always a chore to get done. I worked on them some over the weekend, but they definitely cramp my creativity.

I think Outlined Occasions is a fun set in the Sale-A-Bration Mini and I haven't used it a whole lot, so I wanted to feature it today, along with Fresh Vintage. I think I've seen this card called the Snip and Tuck and originally I had planned on using it for one of my Club cards this month…then went in a different direction. Since SAB is going away at the end of the month, I thought I'd better be showing it off now.

While this is a pretty simple card, what makes it fun is the opening! The Lucky Limeade base is cut on the top of the front and at the bottom on the back layer so that they tuck inside each other to keep it closed. What is on the bottom shows thru on the top!

On the front I stamped the small flower from Fresh Vintage randomly in Lucky Limeade, then added a strip of SAB Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper, layered on Pool Party that is punched with the Pinking Hearts Border. I stamped Thanks from Outlined Occasions in Basic Black, then colored the letters with Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade markers. I punched it with the Extra Large Oval and layered it on the Decorative Label punch. That is placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here is the inside. I hope you can see the diagonal cuts on each piece. I stamped Fresh Vintage large flower along the right side so that I appears on the front when the two pieces are tucked together.

I also stamped So Very Much from Outlined Occasiosn in Basic Black, stamped the little flower again in Lucky Limeade, then punched with the Extra Large Oval and layered on Pool Party Decorative Label just like the front. Very simple, but cute with that different type of fold for the card!

Well…I've certainly had my string of bad luck lately! I went to turn on my computer this morning and got the dreaded BLUE SCREEN…oh no!!! Currently, I am working on my laptop, but it doesn't have all the "stuff" that my other desktop computer had saved, so I'm slowly trying to recreate everything I've loaded to it. I'm just CROSSING my fingers that the computer doctor will be able to recover my files. Seems like everything I go to do is on that computer!
