CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Halloween favor

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Trick or Treat favors” this week. I love doing little treat favors for my customers and grandkids. This one I designed for my recent Spooky Cat class! The box fits two Reece’s peanut butter “eyeballs” treats! The belly band slips off to reveal the treats in the lidded box below!

Here are the details:

The box was cut and scored from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
A 1-1/2 x 6 piece of Spooky Night DSP makes the belly band to wrap around the box and adhere in the front.
On top is the Everyday Label punched from Very Vanilla cardstock.
On top of that is the Spooky Cat punched from Basic Gray cardstock and stamped the eyes in Memento Black from Spooky Cat stamp set. A necklace of Black Rhinestones is placed around her neck.
Two pumpkins were cut from the Spooky Night Designer Paper and added to the front of the cat.
Black Baker’s Twine is wrapped around her tail and tied in a bow.
Trick or Treat from Spooky Cat stamp set is stamped with Memento Black on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and punched with the Classic Label Punch.
Inside, the eyeballs were stamped with Memento Black Ink on the lid. (I cut it apart from the words so I could use it easier).
Two Eyeball Reece Peanut Cups are attached inside with Mini Glue Dots.

Saturday Blog Hop – Awning Cards

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Awning special fold” cards this week! I first saw one done by my fabulous friend, Lorri Heiling, with a hut and mixed drinks and have wanted to try one for myself!

Here’s what I came up with using the cute potion bottles from Spooky Cat stamp set!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cajun Craze Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
A 1-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock was scored at 1/4″ and placed at the bottom of a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock. It was stamped with Happy Halloween with Memento Black Ink.
A row of the hash mark image from Spooky Cat stamp set was stamped above it using Soft Sky Ink for the “table”.
The potion glasses were stamped with Memento Black Ink on top and filled with Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay and Cajun Craze liquids.
The awning was made by cutting a 2 x 3-3/4 piece of striped Spooky Night Designer Paper and scoring across at 3/8 and 1-5/8″. Adhere the top scored piece to the top of the Very Vanilla layer, then bend out the center section.
The black awning piece was cut with the Home Sweet Home Thinlits from Basic Black cardstock (twice) and adhered along the edge, then trimmed to fit.
A witch hat from the Spooky Night Designer Paper was cut out and added to the bottom with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Saturday Blog Hop – Pop-Up Surprise

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Pop-Up Surprise” for the inside of our cards this week! We’ll see what the Design Team did…more of a challenge this week!

I went back and forth on what to do…finally decided on a Halloween theme. Here’s the outside.

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 2 x 5-1/2 piece of Spooky Night DSP was added to the bottom, and the coordinating stripe pattern was cut 1/4 x 5-1/2 and adhered to hide the seam.
The cobweb and bats from Sweet Home stamp set were stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The hat was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Very Vanilla, the buckle colored with Daffodil Delight Marker, then cut with the Layering Circles Framelits. It was adhered to a larger Scallop Layering Circle cut from Basic Black and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The fun is when you open it up…the moon, cat and hat all pop out towards you!

A 5 x 8 piece of Basic Black cardstock was scored at 4 and folded.
Approx. 2″ from each end, a cut was made thru the fold and reversed folded to create the pop-out.
The moon was cut with the Layering Circles from Daffodil Delight, sponged around the edges with Pumpkin Pie Ink and two of the bats stamped with Memento Black Ink. It was added to the pop-out.
The cat was punched from Basic Gray and the face added with Memento Black Ink and added to the moon.
The hat was cut from the Designer Paper an added in front of the moon.
At the inside bottom, a 1-1/2 x 5 piece of Spooky Night DSP was added to the bottom with a coordinating stripe DSP to hide the seam.
The “owl” eyes were stamped with Whisper White several times in the background randomly. The greeting was stamped with Whisper White Craft Ink above the DSP.

CCMC472 Spooky Cat

OK…I just LOVE the cat punch in the new Holiday Catalog…and couldn’t wait to use it! Since I’m “pre-scheduling” posts due to my knee replacement surgery, I really did this card almost immediately upon getting my order! I also am a HUGE fan of Halloween…but this punch will be used for more than Halloween in my house!

The sketch this week on Create with Connie and Mary was a perfect opportunity to use this cat!

Here’s my card using Spooky Cat!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.
The background panel of Spooky Night Designer Paper was cut to 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 and the top panel was cut to 2-3/4 x 3-3/4.
A 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Basic Black cardstock is layered in between the two DSP panels according to the sketch.
The large Stitched Shape Circle was cut from Pumpkin Pie and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The cat was stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, punched with the Cat Punch, then added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionas.
One of the witch hats was cut from the DSP and tucked beside the cat.
Three Black Rhinestones (in the Holiday Catalog!) are added to the circle.

Spooky Cat

Oh, I’m having fun with the Spooky Cat punch! It’s not just for Halloween! But, here’s my first Halloween card of the season using it!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Gray cardstock, stamped in the bottom left corner with the image in Spooky Cat several times with Basic Gray Ink.
The fence from Garden Girl is stamped with Basic Gray Ink on Crumb Cake and hand-cut out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Cat is punched from Basic Black cardstock and added above the fence.
The 2-1/4 moon was punched from So Saffron and sponged with So Saffron Ink. The little stars are from Wood Words and stamped with Basic Gray Ink on the moon. It is placed behind the cat on the front.
Happy Halloween from Spooky Cat was stamped with Basic Gray Ink.
The Black Striped ribbon from the Holiday Catalog is cut and the edges trimmed off. It is stapled to the front with a length of Black Mini Sequins.
