CS64 – Window Wishes

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Celebrate Holidays”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday in November using that theme!

WINDOW WISHES

I resisted buying this Window Wishes bundle for the longest time, but then decided I just HAD to have it! Here’s one of the cards I made while playing with it.

Stampin’ Details:

Base is 4-1/4 x 11 Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Santa Express Designer Paper was added on top.
Over that is a 2 x 4 piece of Real Red Glimmer Paper.
On top of the Glimmer Paper is a 3/4 x 4 strip of Shaded Spruce cardstock.
The window frame was cut from Basic Gray cardstock with the Window Dies.
The inside of the window was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Window Dies and stamped the house from Window Wishes stamp set in Real Red Ink, the trees in Shaded Spruce Ink, the roof with Smoky Slate Ink, the ground and snowflakes with Pool Party Ink.
The little red heart from Handmade Wishes stamp set was stamped with Real Red above the chimney.
The greeting from Window Wishes stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray Ink.
The window element was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The bow from Window Dies was cut from Real Red Glimmer Paper and attached with a Mini Glue Dot.

That’s it for my Creatively Simply card! What excited me most about this card is that it was made up of pieces already cut and stamped! I just put them together differently that I originally intended! Make sure to check out Mary’s Creatively Simple card over on Create with Connie and Mary!

IM255 – Caroling Mice

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge. Although these colors screamed “FLOWERS” to me, I resisted and used my Caroling Mice Stamp Set instead!

CAROLING MICE

I just pulled out a couple of the colors from the inspiration, Evening Evergreen, Smoky Slate and Polished Pink!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Evening Evergreen cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- Emboss the 3-3/4 x 5 Basic White across the top with the Charming Landscapes Embossing Folder.
- Cut the 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 Smoky Slate cardstock with the largest Stitched Shapes Circle Die, then cut in half, adhere towards bottom of the Basic White.
- Stamp the notes with Memento Black Ink on the background and color with Light Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends.
- On the 4 x 4 piece of Basic White, stamp the single mouse, lamp post with Memento Black Ink and the greeting with Polished Pink Ink. Color with Evening Evergreen, Polished Pink, Light Smoky Slate and Light So Saffron Blends. Lighten pink cheeks and ears with Color Lifter Blends. Hand-cut the mouse and lamp post and add to the top of the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp the “ground” with Smoky Slate Ink on the half circle, under the mouse.
- Cut the greeting with the Stylish Shapes Banner Die and add to circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Add two Solid Faceted Gems to side of the circle.

CS63 – Celebrate with Tags

CELEBRATE WITH TAGS

I really purchased this bundle mostly for the tag dies. I enjoy making personalized tags for my gifts, especially at Christmas! But…I thought this mitten stamp was darling, so built my card around the mitten image, with my favorite snowflake embossing folder, too!

Stampin’ Details:

Base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Wintry Snowflake Embossing Folder across the top.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Sweetest Christmas Designer Paper was added on a diagonal across the bottom and trimmed off the side of the Basic White. The layer was added to the front of the base card.
Two mittens were stamped with Pool Party Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Celebrations Tag Die. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two snowflakes were cut from Basic White cardstock with the Celebrations Tag Die and added next to the mittens.
Be Jolly from Celebrate with Tags Stamp Set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the banner Celebrations Tag Die.
A trio of Pool Party Solid Faceted Gems were added to the snowflakes and background.

IM254 – Kindnest Gnomes

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge. Aren’t these Gnomes SO cute? I love the neutral colors!

KINDEST GNOMES

Here’s the card I made based on the inspiration!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 3-3/4 x 5 Basic White cardstock is rubbed with Smoky Slate Ink using a Blending Brush in the center area. Some splatter from the Perched in a Tree Stamp Set is stamped off with Smoky Slate Ink.
- A Wonderful Snowflake is adhered to the background with Mini Glue Dots.
- The Kindest Gnomes was stamped once with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then the hat portion stamped on a scrap piece of Abigail Rose Designer Paper. Both were cut with the Gnome Dies.
- The Gnome outfit was colored with Smoky Slate and Light Basic Black Stampin’ Blends, nose and hands with SU900, beard with Light Smoky Slate accents.
- Falala from Framed & Festive Stamp Set (only available for a SHORT time) was stamped at the bottom with Memento Black Ink.
- A trio of Clear Rhinestones Jewels were added to the background.

IM253 – Fond of Autumn

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge. I love these colors for fall…the blue just pops in this photo! Does it remind anyone else of Williamsburg Blue that used to be SO popular in decorating 20 or so years ago? I had that color ALL over our house!

FOND OF AUTUMN

Here’s what I did with the inspiration! I actually LOVE how this turned out!!!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder.
- The large image from Fond of Autumn was stamped with Soft Suede on Basic White and colored with Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Pool Party, Light Bermuda Bay, SU 400, SU600, SU800 Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the outline Autumn Bouquet Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The scallop circle from All That Dies was cut from Pool Party cardstock and added under the bouquet with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Autumn Wishes was stamped with Early Espresso on a strip of Basic White and cut with the banners from All That Dies. They were added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of Brushed Metallic Dots were added to the background.
- Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the acorns with Mini Glue Dots.

CCMC740 – Snow Crystal

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This time it is a fun color combination to inspire us!

SNOW CRYSTAL

I thought the large snowflake from Snow Crystal Stamp would be perfect done up in pink and blue colors!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was stamped with Polished Pink and Balmy Blue snowflakes and added to the front.
A 3 x 3-1/2 piece of Snowflake Vellum was added to the center.
The greeting from the new Framed & Festive stamp set (available while supplies last!) was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on Balmy Blue cardstock and cut with the Seasonal Labels Die.
Another long Seasonal Labels Die was cut from Night of Navy cardstock. Both were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Solid Faceted Gems were added to the background in pink and blue.

What a FUN snowflake card with its bright colors! I may use this as my Christmas card this year! The Snowflake Vellum just adds so much sparkle in the background, too! Go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary

CS61 – Celebrate Everything

CELEBRATE EVERYTHING

Other than the greeting from Framed & Festive, there is NO other stamping on here! The Celebrate Everything Designer Paper does all the work. I love this pattern with all the little ornaments! It is certainly “jolly”!

Stampin’ Details:

Base is 4-1/4 x 11 Polished Pink cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Celebrate Everything ornament pattern was added on front.
A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of coordinating Celebrate Everything DSP was added to a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Metallic Silver cardstock, then added across the front.
The Framed Florets oval die was cut from Polished Pink and Basic White cardstocks. The center white oval was stamped with the Framed & Festive greeting in Polished Pink Ink. (This early release bundle is NOW AVAILABLE to order!) The outside Polished Pink oval was adhered to the front and the Basic White greeting oval was added inside with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
One of the little ornaments was cut from the DSP and added under the greeting with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Some Simply Elegant Silver Trim was tied in a bow and added to the top of the ornament with a Mini Glue Dot.
