CS102 – Sweet Citrus

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Summer Fun!

SWEET CITRUS

What else says summer like watermelon? I think I could eat my weight of it every summer…so refreshing! I wondered if I could make watermelon from the Sweet Citrus stamp set. I think it worked out…what do you think?

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Shaded Spruce stripe Regals 6×6 DSP was colored with the Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends and added to a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock on the left side.
The outline of the Sweet Citrus fruits was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink and the inside with Sweet Sorbet Ink. The inside was then colored with the Sweet Sorbet Dark Stampin’ Blends to even out the color.
The seeds were stamped with Memento Black Ink using the TINY little center from the Pansy Patch stamp set. They were proportioned just right! The watermelons were cut with the Sweet Citrus Dies.
An extra full citrus was cut from Shaded Spruce cardstock and colored the strips free-hand with Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends. They were placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Sweet Citrus stamp set was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on 1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Parakeet Party cardstock. It was added to a 1/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Basic Black cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flowers from Sweet Citrus were stamped with Sweet Sorbet Ink and cut with the dies, then added around the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Three green In Color Pearls were added to the center of the flowers.
Some Sweet Sorbet Baker’s Twine was tied in a bow and added to the flowers with a Mini Glue Dot!

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. We have some fresh lemonade decorated cookies! How cute!

SWEET CITRUS

I have already made a lemonade glass card using this Sweet Citrus stamp set (see that card HERE), so decided to focus on the lemon wedges…I love the pink rinds and seeds on the cookies!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bubble Bath cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was stamped randomly with the outside lemons in Bubble Bath Ink and the insides with Lemon Lolly Ink for the background.
- A 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock was added across the front with a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper on top.
- Two lemon wedges were stamped separately with Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and cut with the Sweet Citrus Dies, then added to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The greeting from Sweet Citrus was stamped on 3/4 x 3-1/4 Bubble Bath cardstock with Pebbled Path Ink, the end cut at an angle and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- I applied some Wink of Stella to the front lemon wedges.
- The pink Opaque Ovals were added as seeds to the lemon wedges!

SWEET CITRUS

Of course…what else could I use except the Sweet Citrus Bundle for today’s card? I LOVE this set…it’s a keeper in my collection!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
- A 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Enjoy the Journey Designer Paper was added to the bottom.
- The Scallop Contours Die was cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Sweet Citrus oranges were stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink for both the outline and the insides. They were embossed with the Sweet Citrus Embossing Folder, then cut with the Sweet Citrus Dies. They were assembled on the Scallop Contours die-cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Four sets of leaves were stamped with Parakeet Party Ink, then highlighted with Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. The flowers were stamped with Mango Melody Ink. They were all cut with the Sweet Citrus Dies and tucked around the oranges with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Thanks from the Sweet Citrus greeting was inked with Memento Black Ink and stamped on 1/2 x 1-1/2 Parakeet Party cardstock. The end was trimmed at an angle and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The Fun Flowers Resin Shapes were added to the centers of the flowers and to the background.

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. This photo of yarns has LOTS of colors, so I picked out four of them to feature on my Sweet Citrus card.

SWEET CITRUS

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pale Papaya cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Calypso Coral was added on top.
- The 2 x 5-1/4 layer of Hello, Irresistible DSP was added towards the right side.
- A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the greeting in Orchid Oasis Ink.
- The outlines of the “grapefruits” were stamped with Pale Papaya Ink and the insides with Calypso Coral Ink. They were embossed with the Sweet Citrus Embossing Folder and cut with the Sweet Citrus Dies. The leaves were stamped with stamped off Shaded Spruce Ink and cut with the dies.
- The flowers were stamped with Orchid Oasis Ink on Orchid Oasis Cardstock and cut with the Dies.
- The centers have Iridescent Rhinestones.
- Everything was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite JA Mini Stamp Set

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! We have a BRAND NEW January-April Mini Catalog that launched this month AND it’s Sale-A-Bration time! This week the Design Team is showing off their favorite Mini Catalog Stamp Set/Bundle! I know…that is going to be HARD, right? So many fabulous sets to choose from!

SWEET CITRUS

This Sweet Citrus Bundle caught my eye right away! I love that it has a hybrid embossing folder that will emboss the fruit or background! AND I love that the fruits are combined onto one stamp image to make it easier to cut them out! I combined this new bundle with the Hues of Happiness Designer Paper from the Annual Catalog.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
The Hues of Happiness DSP was cut to 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 and adhered on top.
The lemonade glass is 2-1/4 x 3 of both Basic White cardstock and Vellum Paper. The sides were trimmed at an angle to form the glass shape.
On the Basic White glass, Mango Melody was sponged along the bottom, Daffodil Delight above it, leaving a “rim” of white along the top.
The Vellum glass was adhered over the colored Basic White glass, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The lemons were stamped on Basic White cardstock with the outline image in Daffodil Delight Ink, the insides with So Saffron Ink. It was embossed with the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder and cut with the Sweet Citrus Dies. They were assembled on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A slit was cut on the half slice to fit over the top of the glass.
Wink of Stella was added to the lemons.
Two sets of leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink and cut with the Sweet Citrus Dies, then tucked around the lemons.
The greeting from Sweet Citrus was stamped with Memento Black Ink towards the top.
A trio of green In Color Matte Dots were added to the background.

Welcome back! It’s time for a new year of our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. Love these yummy looking cookies, don’t you? I sure wish I could decorate cookies like this!

SWEET CITRUS

This inspiration photo calls out to use the new Sweet Citrus bundle, doesn’t it?

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Balmy Blue cardstock was embossed with the Sweet Citrus Embossing Folder and adhered to the front.
- The lemons from Sweet Citrus stamp set were stamped Crushed Curry Ink for the outline, and Daffodil Delight Ink for the inside on Basic White cardstock. They were embossed with the Sweet Citrus Embossing Folder, then cut with the coordinating die! They were layered on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The leaves from Sweet Citrus stamp set were stamped three times with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the dies and tucked around the lemons.
- The greeting was stamped on a 1/2 x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock and the end cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of In Color Opal Rounds were added to the background.
