In The Meadow and Timeless Textures

Good morning! Hope you all had a great weekend. I worked on swaps for the upcoming On Stage and then we watched our grandson, Carter, on Saturday while his parents went out to dinner with friends. He is such a blast to be around! He is obsessed with these colorful magnetic tiles he got…we must have built 20 different “houses” with them! I’m thinking he needs another box of them for his birthday coming up!

So, this card is a little different for me! I wanted a impressionist look to color the mountain range image from In The Meadow. I used the Timeless Textures stamp set for my “coloring”.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mossy Meadow (I will SOOOOO miss this color when it retires next month!)
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, the mountain range was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink.
For the “water”, the rectangle smudge image was used with Pool Party Ink along the base of the mountains, with the lighter area of the image facing down. For the mountains, Crumb Cake was used with the curved rectangle lighter area image facing up and overstamped a couple times. Smoky Slate was used for the sky and stamping off as it moved farther into the sky with the curved image. (See below for image).
The sun was made with Crushed Curry Ink and a sponge dauber rubbed in a circle.
The greeting from Watercolor Wishes was stamped with Black Archival Ink in the lower left side.

Since it is a little hard to describe the images, here’s a photo of the two “coloring” images I used in Timeless Textures…bottom for water, top for mountains and sky.

That’s it! REALLY simple…but I love the impressionist look! You just need to play a little with it. I’m always needing “guy” cards, and I think someone will like this that has a birthday coming up! lol!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Hello Spring

Hello Spring, it’s all about the flowers!!! That’s the theme of our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop this week! Yeah! I LOVE making flower cards…and I love flower stamp sets! lol! For this card, I already had some pieces cut and sitting on my desk so I decided to combine them and made this card! I love the Timeless Textures in the background.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mossy Meadow cardstock.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, the fleur image from Timeless Textures was stamped a couple times with Pool Party Ink.
Daffodil Delight spatters were added on top.
The larger flower from the Botanical Builder Framelits was cut from Daffodil Delight and the inside smaller flower from the Botanical Gardens DSP, and the smallest flower from Whisper White. They were all adhered together and a yellow It’s My Party Enamel Dot placed in the center. It was adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves from Botanical Blooms stamp sets were stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Mossy Meadow cardstock, then cut with the Botanical Builder Framelits, along with the fern from Pear Pizzazz cardstock. They were added under the flower.
Celebrate You from Suite Sayings (my favorite greeting set right now) was stamped close to the flower with Mossy Meadow Ink.

CCMC392 Timeless Textures

It’s Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Love the color combination this week, it is one of my favorites! So, hope you grab your stamps and play along with us!

Well, this time of year, this color combination screams VALENTINE to me! So…how could I resist?

And, since my Sweetheart punch was already out on my desk, I decided to use it on some Love Blossoms Designer Paper along with the fabulous Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit. Love all the little elements in it.

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Rose Red, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake, the Timeless Texture swirl was stamped twice with Crumb Cake Ink and some of the spatters added diagonally.
A 1 x 4 strip of Love Blossoms DSP goes across the front.
Two Sweetheart hearts were punched from the Love Blossoms DSP and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Love at First Sigh from Greatest Greetings was stamped with Memento Black Ink under the DSP.
I removed the bow from the paperclip in the Kit and added it to one heart with a Mini Glue Dot. The second heart has one of the wood elements in the Kit, covered with the Clear Wink of Stella.
As a final touch, three enamel glitter dots from the Kit were added along the spatters.

Pretty CAS design…although all the little elements really make it, I think! OK…make sure to check out the rest of the Challenge Team over on Create with Connie and Mary and see what they did with this color combination!
