IM400 – AMBER AUTUMN

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration is a bunch of acorns!

AMBER AUTUMN

We have several huge OLD oak trees in our backyard! So many that in a bad windstorm, the acorns will start pinging the house! And, during the fall, the squirrels are SO busy gathering all the nuts before the winter weather arrives. Funny to see them so busy! Today’s inspiration reminded me that time of year will soon be here!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Beige cardstock was embossed with the Gathering Leaves Embossing Folder (available Sept 3) and adhered to the front.
A 3 x 3-1/2 piece of woodgrain Gathering Together Designer Paper was added towards the left with a 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Old Olive stripe was added across it.
The acorn was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 Basic White cardstock and the end cut at an angle. It was added over the green stripe with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Early Espresso Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the stem of the acorn.
A trio of Neutral Matte Dots were added to the background.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – It’s Fall!

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our theme this week is FALL…using any of the fabulous sets in the Holiday or Main Catalog!

I chose to use the set, Cheer All Year, for my card today. I’ve only had it a short time, but I love the greetings in this set and wanted to give it some love!

Here are the details:

The Tangelo Twist cardstock base is a partial fold card cut 4-1/4 x 9 and scored at 5-1/2.
On the front is 3-1/4 x 4 piece of Into the Woods DSP in the Tangelo Twist leaves pattern, then a 1 x 4 strip of Woodgrain DSP added along the left side.
The Early Espresso Ribbon is tied and knotted around the DSP layer.
The 4th from largest circle in the Circle Framelits cut the Whisper White, with Hello Autumn stamped in Tangelo Twist Ink along the bottom.
Two acorns from Cheer All Year were stamped with Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip on scrap Whisper White, then punched with the Acorn Punch. They are popped up on the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added two Tangerine Tango Candy Dots to the acorns for a little color!
The Circle is adhered under the left side to the front flap with Stampin’ Dimensionals, too.
Inside is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake embossed with the Woodlands Embossing Folder.
I purposely left the inside without a greeting so I can use it for any event that I need it for!

I love the unusual fold on this…here’s a look from the top.

Truly Grateful

Here's another card using Truly Grateful! I'm loving this set!

Here are the details:

The 4 1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake is folded in half to make base card.
I ran the 4 x 5 1/4 Soft Sky cardstock is embossed with the new Stylish Stripes folder.
The new Burlap Ribbon is laid down the center and cut with a flag end.
I cut the Window Frame Framelit from Crumb Cake cardstock and pierced around the edges, then placed on the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I stamped the chevron background image in Truly Grateful with Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla and punched with the 2 1/2 circle. I adhered it on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The greeting "Thankful for…" was stamped with Chocolate Chip on a 1/2 strip of Very Vanilla and placed on top.
The acorns were stamped with Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla, then watercolored with an AquaPainter and Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Markers.
I doubled a length of Linen Thread and tied a bow, then placed it on top of the acorns with a Mini Glue Dot.
