White Christmas

One of my favorite things in Stampin’ Up!’s White Christmas stamp set is the little car. I love the little tree on top! It reminds me of my childhood when my folks had a big green station wagon to haul all of us around! It had a reverse seat in the back so that we could wave out the back window at cars and trucks…it folded down into the floor when not in use! Anyone remember those? lol! Anyway…here’s a card I made. Leave off the sequins and it would be totally mailable without any extra postage!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Soft Sky folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White.
I cut a 2 1/4 x 3 piece of All Is Calm Designer Paper (love the metallic snowflakes!) and placed on the upper left side. I added a 3/4 x 2 piece of a coordinating DSP design and cut a flag end.
Under the DSP, I stamped “Thinking of you…” with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White, I stamped the car and tree with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, then colored with my Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Coastal Cabana Blendabilities markers. I punched it out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and layered on a 2″ Circle punch of Soft Sky. It’s popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, for a little bling, I added some Frosted Sequins and Snowflake with a Rhinestone inside.

Holiday Home

Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Home is just one of those stamp sets that I had to have the minute I saw it. I loved how it had different elements for decorating them…kind of like the Cat’s Meow buildings I used to collect (and still have in my basement somewhere!) I also loved the little Santa’s Sleigh and Reindeer and thought it could be used in so many different ways! When I was working on my Flat, Fast and Fabulous Class last week, this idea came to me. I discarded it for the class because it took longer than the requirement for mass producing, but it still was pretty quick to come together!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Pool Party, folded in half.
A 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Bermuda Bay was added on top.
Another 3 3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White was added.
I cut a 2 x 3 1/2 piece of All Is Calm Designer Paper in the snowflake print, and stamped Santa’s sleigh and reindeer with Tuxedo Black Ink on it in the upper left corner. (It does lighten quite a bit stamping it on the DSP.)
I added it to a 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and placed it on the Whisper White layer.
I stamped the Holiday Home house with Tuxedo Black on scrap Whisper White and colored it with Crumb Cake, So Saffron and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Markers. The wreath was stamped with Garden Green above the door.
I stamped the greeting with Tuxedo Black towards the bottom of the Whisper White, then added the House above it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Isn’t that a fun way to use that set? I really liked how it turned out.

Week 1 Blog Hop: Partridge & Pears

I used Stampin’ Up!’s stamp set, Partridge & Pears, for my card this week since I used it on my fun project! I ended up doing a really COOL technique with it, too! It changed the color of the bird from Night of Navy to almost a Marina Mist color! I love that it has such a contrast! And, even though the base card is square, with the topper it still fits in a normal sized envelope.

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 Night of Navy folded in half to make the square base.
On top is a 4 x 4 square of All Is Calm Designer Paper in the Smoky Slate medallion pattern.
On a 3 x 3 1/2 piece of Night of Navy, I used Versamark and embossed the Partridge & Pears image with Silver Embossing Powder.
To get the lighter color on the Partridge, I put a couple drops of White Craft Ink on a plastic sheet and added a couple drops of water. I used an AquaPainter to whitewash the partridge bird. I loved how it lightened it!
The Night of Navy cardstock was layered on a 3 1/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Silver Glimmer Paper using Monoadhesive Liquid Glue.
I added the top portion to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Along the bottom, I cut a 1 x 4 piece of Whisper White and stamped the greeting with Night of Navy ink. I tied the Night of Navy Seam Binding around and tied a knot.

It is so shimmery and sparkly in real life!

“I’m dreaming…of a White Christmas”…well, no…definitely NOT me. But this Stampin’ Up! set would really put you in the mood, wouldn’t it? I must admit. I bought this set, then stared at it for a month. Just didn’t know what to do with it! But, I pulled it out to see if I could get some inspiration. Today’s Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge seemed like a perfect time to use it!

And here is my card. Don’t you love the diagonal panel on the front? Gives it a touch of whimsey! I also let the All Is Calm Designer Paper do most of the work!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Soft Sky, folded in half.
Ii cut a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Smoky Slate Printed DSP in the All Is Calm package, then tilted it slightly on the front and cut off the excess at the sides and top.
I also cut banners of DSP at 1 1/2 x 4 3/4 and 1/2 x 4, cut a flag end and added them to the front.
I stamped a single tree and cardinal from White Christmas stamp set with Black Stazon on Whisper White, then used Sahara Sand, Soft Sky and Real Red Markers to color.
I stamped the snow flurries image and Soft Sky ink in the sky several times. I cut it with the Circle Framelit and then layered it on Smoky Slate cardstock. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For some bling, I used a trio of the Frosted Sequins.
I stamped the greeting from White Christmas with Black Stazon in the lower right corner.

Letterpress Winter Snowflake Card

Oh…the interactive Snowflake Card Thinlets are hard to photograph, but they are SO pretty! I love the motion of them and they are SO easy to make! I used the coordinating Letterpress Winter stamp set to go along with it. Here’s a photo of it closed from the front:

Here are the details:

The base Snowflake Card Thinlet is Coastal Cabana cardstock.
I added a 2 x 5 1/2 piece of All is Calm Designer Paper (the metallic polka dots) along the right side.
I stamped the small snowflake from Letterpress Winter randomly on the left flap with Coastal Cabana Ink and the greeting from Cheerful Tags with Memento Tuxedo Black ink at the bottom.
The large snowflake was stamped with Bermuda Bay on Whisper White, then cut with the Snowflake Card Thinlet (cut it, then turn 90 degrees and cut again) and adhered on the base.
I cut the medium snowflake from the Thinlet from the Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered to the center.

Inside I stamped the large snowflake inside the cut snowflake lines with Bermuda Bay Ink.
On scrap Whisper White, I stamped the For You with Pool Party Ink and punched with the 1 1/4 Circle Punch. I added two rhinestones along the side and placed inside the snowflake.
Finally, I pierced a hole and added the Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine thru the hole and tied on an All is Cam Snowflake Embellishment. I tied a bow and secured in place with a Mini Glue dot. The snowflake dangles prettily from inside and out!

So, my Stamp Clubs were wanting to see the Snowflake Thinlet in action…here is the finished card! Hope you enjoy seeing it, my friends!
