Maui Achievers Blog Hop – January 2021

Our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Achievers get together each month for a Blog Hop! I’m blessed with great customers and downline who helped me achieve both Maui trips that will be held in May 2021 (hopefully!)   January’s blog hop theme is ANYTHING CURRENT!

HYDRANGEA HAVEN

My girlfriend has a special birthday milestone this year and I wanted to make her a special card!  I love Hydrangeas and I’m pretty sure she does, too, so I grabbed my Hydrangea Haven Bundle to make her card.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was put on top.
  • I cut some unique shaped pieces of Hydrangea Hill Designer Paper for the background and left space to place some Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon thru the center diagonally.
  • The Stitched So Sweetly rectangles were cut from Highland Heather and Basic White cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The hydrangea was stamped with Memento Black and the blossom fill with Highland Heather Ink.  The small blossom fill was stamped over top with Seaside Spray Ink to give it a two-tone look.  The stem and leaves fill were stamped with Old Olive Ink.  It was cut with the Hydrangea Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink on 3/4 x 3 piece of Basic White cardstock and the end cut at an angle.
  • A trio of Pastel Pearls were added in the background.

I just love how this turned out…especially the background designer paper on here!

We have a fun sketch challenge for you this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Check it out!

And here is what I came up with.  My inspiration came from my gorgeous hydrangea bushes…they are blooming their heads off!

Here are the details to recreate this card:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11, HEAVY Whisper White…have I mentioned I love this stuff?
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Wisteria Wonder was stamped with You’re in my Thoughts with Black Stazon Ink.
  • The green plaid Cherry on Top DSP was cut 1-1/2 x 4, then cut with a flag end.  Under it is a 1/2 piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock and then a Perfect White Accent.
  • I first cut the Whisper White oval with the Oval Framelits, then I placed the hydrangea flower image with Black Stazon where I wanted it.  I watercolored with the Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder and Marina Mist Stampin’ Write Markers for the trio of colors.  The stem is Wild Wasabi and Cucumber Crush Stampin’ Write Markers and the AquaPainter again.  I popped up the oval on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, I stamped the butterfly with Black Stazon Ink and watercolored with So Saffron Marker, then cut it out and placed it on the flower.

CCMC362 Best Thoughts

It’s Thursday again (already!) and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  It’s a fun color challenge.  You’ll see that I deviated just slightly on my card…my flower needed green leaves and stem, it just didn’t look right in Crumb Cake!  I tried it and it looked like my poor flower was dying!  lol!

The details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red, folded in half.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp and White Craft Ink.
  • Over that is a 2-1/2 x 4 strip of Brights Designer Paper Stack, then a 1/2 x 4 piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock over that.
  • The greeting from Best Thoughts was stamped with Black Stazon ink in the upper right corner.
  • The large flower from Best Thoughts was stamped with Black Stazon Ink on Whisper White, then using a Blender Pen and Ink Pads, the flower was colored with Lost Lagoon and Old Olive, then cut out and placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, a Crumb Cake button was tied with White Bakers Twine and added to the strip of Lost Lagoon cardstock.

I LOVE the Blue Hydrangea bushes in my yard and this card reminds me of them!
