I know…it’s Thanksgiving! HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone! I hope that you saw my Banner Blessings card that posted yesterday. Today for our Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge, I went with a Christmas card, mainly because after today everyone’s thoughts will be more firmly focused on Christmas! Have fun playing with this sketch, lots of great ideas from our Challenge Team this week! I originally said this was Festival of Trees, but actually it is the tree image in Many Merry Stars stamp set in the Holiday Supplement catalog!

Here’s my take on the sketch:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Real Red, folded in half.
On 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Sahara Sand, I added a 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 piece of Nordic Noel Designer Paper.
I covered the seam with a 1/4″ strip of Silver Glimmer Paper.
The Many Merry Stars tree image was stamped with Silver Ink on Real Red, Whisper White and Pacific Point, then used the Tree Punch to punch the images out. I lined them up in a row above the Glimmer Paper.
In the center of each tree, I added a Rhinestone Jewel.
Finally, I stamped Tis the Season with Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White and cut with the Project Life Framelits.

Week 4: Many Merry Stars

For this week’s stamp set, I used Many Merry Stars. It’s from the Holiday Supplement catalog. My project could be interchangeable with the Bright & Beautiful star set, too! However, I wanted to do a card with one of my favorite snowflake images in the set. I LOVE that it fits inside the Tree Punch!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Soft Sky, I added three patterns of All is Calm Washi Tape towards the bottom third of the front.
I embossed the Fun Frame on Lost Lagoon cardstock and cut it out. Then added it on top of the Washi Tape.
In the center, I cut out a 1 1/4 x 1 7/8″ piece of Silver Glimmer Paper to put inside the Fun Frame.
I stamped the tree from Many Merry Stars in Lost Lagoon on Whisper White and punched with the Tree Punch, then added the element to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I colored a Rhinestone with Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and added it to the center of the tree snowflake.
Finally, I stamped Tis the Season from the same Many Merry Stars set with Lost Lagoon ink above the top of the frame.

I love how it turned out and I love this stamp set! You’ll be seeing more of it from me, I’m sure!

Many Merry Stars

When the Holiday Catalog Supplement came out, I wondered if I really needed another Star Set…I had just bought the Bright & Beautiful set in the Holiday Catalog and hadn’t even used it yet. But, I LOVE the snowflake shapes inside the stars so went for it. I am SO glad I did! You’ll see this set used a couple times this week…and I used it in my Stamp Club last week! It was a hit!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Real Red, folded in half.
Soft Sky cardstock was cut 3 3/4 x 5 and embossed with the Lucky Stars Folder.
Cut a 3 x 3 1/2 piece of Nordic Noel snowflake print DSP and adhere on front.
Cut a 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of the striped pattern in Nordic Noel to go across the front.
Stamp the large star in Many Merry Stars stamp set with Silver Ink on Whisper White and the small snowflake star with Real Red ink on Whisper White and cut with the Star Framelits. Pop them both up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp ‘Tis the Season from the same set with Garden Green Ink on Whisper White and handcut around the curve of the image, then adhere across the front of the stars.
Finally, add several Frosted Sequins and Snowflakes randomly on the front.

This is quite an easy card to pull together and I really like how it turned out! Got to get going…working on my Flat and Fabulous Card Class today…I’m excited about this one!
