As many of you know, the Typepad platform…what we use for Create with Connie and Mary, has been battling nasty hacker issues for the past few days! Since we were uncertain whether or not the blog would be functional, we decided to set up a Create with Connie and Mary Blog Tour this week for our Design Team! We will still have the challenge, too, on our Create blog…you'll just need to go on the Blog Tour to see the inspiration this week, but upload your cards to Create with Connie and Mary blog as usual! Enjoy!

You've probably just come from designer Margaret Raburn's blog…isn't that a fun card for this challenge, very masculine! We had a FUN color challenge this week! Although the colors didn't immediately say "flowers" to me, I went with that theme anyway!

And here is my card using Mixed Bunch…a set that I haven't pulled out in quite a while! I made this for my mom and dad's anniversary (then forgot to give it to them at Easter!…grrr….)

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Calypso Coral cardstock, folded in half.
The 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White is embossed with the Flower Garden folder (on the Retiring list!). I sponged the centers with Calypso Coral ink.
I took some Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon across the front and adhered the ends to the back.
Across the center of the Ribbon, I added a 1/2" x 4" strip of Crumb Cake, stamped with Basic Gray ink with the Hostess Only set, Express Yourself, greeting.
I stamped the flower from Mixed Bunch with Basic Gray Ink on Calypso Coral, then punched with the Blossom Punch and added it to the front of the card.
In the flower center, I punched the 7/8 Scallop Circle Punch from Crumb Cake cardstock and added it with a Large Pearl (also retiring!)

I was pretty unsure of the colors, but really like how this turned out! So, next stop is my creative partner, Mary Brown at StamperCamper's Corner! I know you'll love her delightful card this week! Follow the links to continue around the blog tour to all the designers!

Oh, you HAVE to jump over to Create with Connie and Mary and see our new blog look for Summer! It is so fresh and colorful…we love it! And…today is also our Thursday Challenge, so check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week with our Color Challenge!

And here is my card. I pulled out Mixed Bunch, a set I haven't used in a while! I love the matching punch, but I tend to use it more with designer paper for some reason. I have a couple new items on here…can you spot them?

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Island Indigo, folded in half.
I embossed the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Pool Party with the Honeycomb Folder.
I cut a 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 piece of Epic Day Designer Paper (from the new catalog!) and angled it on the front of the card.
I punched two of the Blossom Punch from So Saffron, then stamped the Mixed Bunch flower with So Saffron twice on Whisper White and punched with the Blossom Punch. I layered on top of each other with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I stamped the center with Island Indigo and punched with the 1" Circle Punch, then placed on top with Stampin' Dimensionals and added Pearls in the center.
Last, I stamped the Good for You greeting from the new Hostess Set, Banner Greetings with Island Indigo on Whisper White, cut it out and added it to the front with a sliver of Island Indigo for the "stick".
A Whisper White Taffeta bow finishes the card.

I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out, and I love the yellow flowers! Again, make sure to check out our new look over on Create with Connie and Mary and find out what the Challenge Team did. In Color Bookmarks

My Club members made this little bookmark of new In Colors as a bonus project last month! I wanted them to see and feel the new pads and have a sample of the ink and cardstock colors to take home! The template was available on SUDSOL, a demo site filled with great resources. If you are a demo, you can do a two-week trial! I've been a member for a LONG time…but the things like this that I use are invaluable! Click on the right SUDSOL widget on my blog for more information!

They stamped the center flower from Mixed Bunch in each of the colors and punched with the 1/2" Circle punch. That was layered on a 1" punch from the cardstock colors and placed in the appropriate blocks. The Whisper White template was layered on Midnight Muse cardstock and slipped into a plastic bookmark case that I purchased online. Finally, they added the new In Color Ribbon of Gumball Green at the top!

Mixed Bunch

Wow…two days in a row…aren't you impressed? I'm getting back in my groove! Mixed Bunch has certainly become my go-to stamp set when I need a quick card. This one was made for a one-on-one challenge I did. You mail off the card and get one back. Pretty nice!

I started with a base of Pool Party cardstock. I layered on the Tangerine Tango print from Summer Smooches Designer Paper. I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch with Island Indigo to make the trim above and below…I love the look of the delicate scallops! I wrapped the Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon around and tied a knot on the front.

The flower was stamped with Island Indigo on Whisper White and punched with the Blossom Punch. I also punched a flower from Pool Party to layer behind it, and also punched one from Lucky Limeade, then cut off two of the petals for the leaves. They were put together with Stampin' Dimensionals for some added dimension on the front of the card. I added a Summer Smooches Fabric Brad that matched the Designer Paper in the center of the flower. I'm so sad that those sold out and they aren't offered in the new catalog! I loved the designs on them! Finally, I stamped Congratuations in Tangerine Tango on Whisper White and cut the tail for the pennant. It is popped up in the center with Stampin' Dimensionals, too.

Happy Easter – Mixed Bunch!

Happy Easter!

I like to make little favors to put in my monthly Stamp Club order bags. I don't do it EVERY month, but I do try to hit the holidays at least! I so appreciate the fact that they support my business…and have become wonderful friends! Hi gals!!!

Here is what I did this month to celebrate Easter. I saw the Mixed Bunch flower punched with the Extra Large Oval to make pretty decorated Easter Eggs. And, the hostess only designer paper, Cheerful Treat, has perfect Easter colors! Then, since I have a TON of Melon Mambo cardstock left over from doing wedding invitations, I used that as my base color. I think they turned out SO cute!

The base of the candy holder is cut with the largest size Label Framelit. I scored two lines 3/4" apart in the center area to hold the candy in place. I wrapped it around the candy and held it together with a Sale-A-Bration brad (hope you got some of those yourself!) I added the strip of Cheerful Treat Designer Paper along the front. Then stamped the Mixed Bunch filigree flower in Crushed Concord and punched with the Extra Large Oval, I added a pearl in the center. I added it to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I stamped Happy Easter from Delightful Dozen in Crushed Concord.

Here they are all lined up and ready to put in bags! Inside is a yummy Caramel filled Chocolate Egg!

Mixed Bunch in neutrals!

I thought my room would be "temporarily" back together by last night, but we needed to let the floor sit for 24 hours before walking on it or placing anything on it. I must say it looks FABULOUS!!! I am SO very happy with the floor I chose…and I absolutely cannot wait to see the cabinets with it! Soon! I miss my creative spot and my blog has suffered from not having access to my supplies! It is all I can do to keep up with classes I've scheduled!

However, I joined a one-on-one challenge to come up with a card using only neutrals to send off to my partner! I hope Toni isn't reading this…it will go in the mail today…so I thought I'd show you now! Mixed Bunch is my absolute FAVORITE in the Occasions Mini…and I have gotten a lot of mileage off using it! Combined with the neutral tones in Mocha Morning Designer Paper…wow! So much texture (which fits the LNS challenge this week, too!)

I started with a base of Crumb Cake cardstock. I layered on Very Vanilla that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. I used the Pennant Die to cut the triangle of Mocha Morning DSP, then added Basic Black cardstock that was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch along each side. I also cut a Basic Black medallion from the Pennant Die for the background of my flower. The flower is stamped with Basic Black on Very Vanilla and punched with the Blossoms Punch. The center was stamped with Basic Black on Crumb Cake and punched with the 3/4" Circle. All the layers on top of the Very Vanilla background are popped up, so there is LOTS of height! I stamped friend from Fabulous Phrases in Basic Black on Very Vanilla and trimmed the end as a flag, then tucked it behind the center of the flower. In the center, I placed a small pearl…AND…do you see all those TINY pearls in between each of the scallops on the side! Wow! LOVE how those turned out…it really dresses up the card!

Hmmm, I really don't want to send this card off! Maybe I should make another one for ME to keep! lol!

Mixed Bunch again

I recently held a stamp camp using Mixed Bunch and the Blossom Punch (remember the little favors with the Hershey Kisses in the center? You can see them HERE!) This is one of the cards we did. I love the colors in it…so bright and intense and really set off with the Basic Black accents!

The base of the card is Wisteria Wonder. I added a layer of Basic Black. On the Whisper White layer, I added blocks of Berry Blossoms Designer Paper. I wrapped the Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon around to the back and secured. I stamped the Mixed Bunch flower with Wisteria Wonder ink on Wisteria Wonder cardstock, then punched them out. I added a trio of little flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch in Lucky Limeade in the center and then a wonderful Black Glimmer Brad. I punched the Blossom punch flower again and cut off two of the petals for the leaves in Lucky Limeade. It is tucked under the flower that is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I stamped Get Well Soon in Basic Black from the stamp set, Delightful Dozen.

Overall, a pretty quick and easy card with lots of pop! I love it!

Mixed Bunch

I'm having so much fun with Stampin' Up!'s stamp set, Mixed Bunch. Making favors and butterflies…it is much more than a flower set!

I made this card for a one-on-one card challenge. We only make one and send it off to our partner. I hope she liked it!

I started with a base of Poppy Parade and added Whisper White. I used a couple different patterns in the Everyday Enchantment Sale-A-Bration Designer Paper and layered them on top. I cut a strip of Lucky Limeade cardstock and stamped Friend on it, then added some Crochet Trim and tied a knot. I stamped the flower in Poppy Parade and punched it out with the Blossom Punch, punched another from Poppy Parade cardstock, then layered some Boho Blossom punched flowers of Poppy Parade, Whisper White and Peach Parfait in the center with a Glimmer Brad. Finally, I punched the Blossom from Lucky Limeade cardstock, textured it with the Finial Press Folder, and cut off two petals for leaves. I popped up the flower on the front of the card.
