Saturday Blog Hop – Christmas Tags

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week’s challenge is “Christmas Tags”.  Are you all done wrapping?  If not, here are a few ideas for some tags for your packages!

SNOWY DELIGHTS & SNOWFLAKE KISSES

I make my Christmas tags every year and base them on what my Christmas wrapping paper looks like!  For this challenge, I made up a quick tag using the Snowy Delights and Snowflake Kisses dies and added them to the Spotlight on Nature circles!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is Basic White cardstock cut with the Spotlight on Nature circle Die.
  • A smaller circle die was used to cut the Peaceful Garden DSP and was adhered to the White circle.
  • The snowflake from Snowy Delights was cut with the die from Basic White cardstock and adhered to the circles.
  • A small snowflake from Snowflake Kisses was cut from Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper and adhered to the center of the larger snowflake.
  • JOY from Keeping Traditions stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on 1/2 x 3 Basic White cardstock and cut the ends at an angle.  It was added to the snowflakes with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A small red Faceted Snowflake was added to the center.
  • Some Real Red & White Baker’s Twine was looped thru the holes in the top circle and tied in a knot.

Sweetest Star Ornament

Happy Friday!  I know!  An extra post for you this week from me!  Currently, Debbie and I have the Sweetest Star Collection of projects for sale…you can buy the Kits or a PDF tutorial.  For something different in this Collection, we made ornaments using the Sweetest Star Bundle!  I had so much fun, that I made a second type of ornament for my own tree using Mrs. Claus.  It turned out so cute that I thought I’d share it here.

SWEETEST STAR                                                                    

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is a 3″ mini grapevine wreath I ordered from Amazon.  You can find them HERE!
  • I wrapped the 1/8″ Gold Trim from the Gold/Silver Combo Pack around the grapevine starting at the top and ending there, securing with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • A added a loop of Gold Trim at the top for the hanger and tied a knot.
  • The Red & White Baker’s Twine was tripled and then tied in a bow around the base of the trim loop to hold it secure.
  • I cut a 3-1/8″ Deckle Circle from Thick Basic White cardstock and another from the Take a Bow 6×6 Designer Paper and adhered them together, then glued to the back of the grapevine ornament.
  • Mrs. Claus from Sweetest Star stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Real Red cardstock and on Basic White cardstock and punched both with the Sweetest Star Punch.  The head and apron were cut away from the Basic White and adhered to the Real Red one.  I used Ivory, Light Flirty Flamingo, and Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends to color her face, hair and shadows on the apron.
  • One of the holly leaves was cut from the Take A Bow DSP and added to her apron.
  • White Pearlized Effects was applied to her cuffs.
  • Mrs. Claus was added to the side of the grapevine wreath with Stampin’ Dimensionals (or use a glue gun for extra security).
  • A trio of white Adhesive Backed Snowflake Assortment snowflakes were added to the wreath.
  • Some Red & White Peppermints were added to the centers of the snowflakes.

Isn’t she so CUTE?  I can’t wait to add her to my Christmas tree!

Delicate Baubles Gingerbread

This is my second post for today…make sure to check out my other post, too!

I’ve already shown you a GNOME and a SANTA made using the arabesque shape in the Delicate Baubles Dies.  Have I sold you on buying this die set yet?  If I have, please use my ONLINE ORDERING link to support my small business!  Today, I’m showing a Gingerbread Man made with it!

And here’s my Gingerbread Man:

Stampin’ Supplies:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cinnamon Cider cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 1-3/4 x 4 piece of Gingerbread & Peppermints DSP was added to the top of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
  • Some Real Red Ruffled Ribbon is wrapped around and tied in a knot on the front.
  • The greeting from Frosted Gingerbread stamp set is stamped with Real Red ink in the lower right corner.
  • Add the layer to base card.
  • The arabesque solid ornament shape from Delicate Baubles Dies was cut from Cinnamon Cider cardstock.
  • The icing squiggles were cut from Basic White cardstock with the Hippo & Friends Dies.
  • The peppermint buttons were cut from Real Red and Basic White cardstock cut with the Gingerbread Dies.
  • The bowtie is the retired Heart Punch and 1/4″ Circle Punch punched from Granny Apple Green cardstock.
  • Red Rhinestones were added to the center of the peppermint buttons.

Isn’t that so CUTE?  What a fun tag to add to a box of baked goodies given away at Christmas time!  Stay tuned…I have at least one more ready to show tomorrow!

Christmas Bauble

OK…I’ll get to my card in a minute, but first have to show off my newest grand-daughter, Quinn!  She was born on October 9th and weighed 8 lbs, 10 oz, 21-1/2″ long!  Since her mom had an unexpected c-section, I’ve been fortunate enough to be spending my days helping out over at their house and getting LOTS of snuggle time.  Of course, Quinn has her days and nights mixed up so we are working on that!  This was taken right before she came  home on Sunday.

I had a Christmas Bauble image sitting on my desk that I didn’t use on another project, so I decided to use it on a card.

Here are the details…

  • The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Rich Razzleberry cardstock, folded in half.
  • The 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White layer is embossed with the Lucky Stars folder.
  • The Color Me Autumn Designer Paper was cut with the Apothecary Accent framelit.  A hole was punched in the top point for the ribbon to go thru.
  • The Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Ribbon was wrapped thru the hole and adhered to the back.
  • Christmas Bauble image was stamped with Memento Black Ink (center stamped twice) and colored with the Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake Blendabilities Markers.  Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler was also used for the holly leaves and berries.
  • The ornament was cut out, and the 1″ circle center punched on the second image.  The center was layered with the 1-1/4 Champagne Glimmer Paper Circle and added to the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  In the very center, the star was punched from Champagne Glimmer Paper and adhered.  The ornament was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I stamped Merry from Cheerful Tags with Rich Razzleberry Ink on a strip of Whisper White, cut a flag end and added it under the Christmas Bauble.
  • Finally, I added a Gold Designer Button tied with Linen Thread.

Well, little Quinn is stirring from her nap.  Need to get going!  Have a great day!

Bloggers Challenge – Holiday Ornaments or Decorations

Shhhh….I’m supposed to be getting things ready for my husband’s holiday party tonight.  I have the White Chicken Lasagnas to make along with the filling for the Lemon Jelly Rolls, and still do a little cleaning and setup.  But, I just had to take a break and make up something for the Blogger’s Challenge.  Don’t tell!  lol!

I think ornaments are so much fun to make.  I had trouble narrowing down my choices of which one to make for today.  I actually had a glass ornament (filled with designer paper) started that I could have used, but decided to go this route instead.  This is very easy…just graduated sizes of squares and then add a focal point.  No stamping…just all cutting and punches.  I did use my scoring tool to score some textured veins into the white poinsettia and leaves that is a little hard to see.  I used a Jumbo eyelet for the top hanger and used the yummy Red Riding Hood taffeta ribbon.

Since I was in a hurry, I didn’t do it, but I think this would look awesome with all scalloped edges on it…maybe I’ll do that tomorrow using the Ski Slope paper!  I’ll plan on doing a short tutorial, too, with sizes, etc.

Have a great weekend!  Tonight is the last of the BIG THINGS I need to do before Christmas.  Then I can relax and enjoy the holidays and all the fun stuff like baking, card making, and gift wrapping!
