Wicked Cool is Perfectly Preserved

I had so much fun making this card! I saw something on Pinterest that inspired me…just knew I could use Stampin' Up! products to make one. I actually changed it up quite a bit, but the inspiration is there.

OK…here are the details on how I made it!

Base card is Tangerine Tango cardstock.
I layered on the plaid design from Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Paper.
I stamped the witches boots from Wicked Cool with Black Stazon on Very Vanilla, then colored the socks with Pumpkin Pie. I stamped the bats with Basic Gray ink. Then cut it out with the jar framelit from Cannery Set.
I stamped the jar image from Perfectly Preserved with Black Stazon on a Window Sheet and cut it out with the jar framelit, too.
I adhered them together with two mini glue dots (under the ruffle).
The ruffle bonnet was stamped with Tangerine Tango ink, used the framelit and I trimmed off the ruffle to place on top of the Window Sheet jar.
The entire piece was adhered to a rectangle of Very Vanilla and I added more Basic Gray bats and cobwebs, along with the Basic Gray polka dot design from H&S, too, on the right side. Then layered it on Basic Black cardstock.
I made the broom by cutting a thin strip of Early Espresso cardstock and punched the top with the Owl Punch from Crumb Cake. I scored it every 1/8" inch with Simply Scored Tool and cut slits with my Paper Snips.
I adhered the broom handle inside the jar and the "straw" is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals on the front. I added a bow of Linen Thread.
Finally, I stamped "Have a Wicked Halloween" with Black Stazon on Tangerine Tango and punched with the Decorative Label punch and adhered on the front.

Sept 2012 Tour de Freaks

Woohoo!!! It's time for the monthly Tour de Freaks, brought to you by the Control Freak Swappers! We have a fabulous lineup of stops on the tour today, I know you'll be impressed. Our theme this month is Halloween and Fall. You've probably just come from Dawn Olchefske's blog...aren't her projects darling?

My first card is one that my Orchard Harvest DSP class did last week. I liked how it came out! I borrowed the layout from my good friend, Mary Brown…her card was Christmas theme, but I switched mine out for Fall! LOVE the little ears of corn in the Perfectly Preserved stamp set. Reminds me of growing up on the farm in Illinois. My dad planted for Delmonte…yummy…they have the BEST sweet corn!

I used the Window Frame Framelits for the base of the Cajun Craze card.
The center is cut out and layered with Orchard Harvest DSP inside.
I pierced around the edges of the Framelit, too.
I used Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the ears of corn (three different times), cut with the Cannery Framelits and added a wood button tied with Linen Thread and layered behind the Seasonal Sayings greeting!

This card was a favorite in class (well, besides the little 3D project we did!)

My next card uses Wonderfall and my favorite stripe in the Orchard Harvest DSP package! Love those little x's!

Base of the card is Cajun Craze.
I added the stripe from Orchard Harvest DSP across the top of the More Mustard Layer, then wrapped the ends of the Early Espresso Tulle Ribbon to the back and adhered. I tied the center of the Tulle with a bow of Linen Thread.
Behind the Tulle Ribbon, I tucked the stamped leaves from Wonderfall stamp set, inked in Cajun Craze, Island Indigo, More Mustard and Lucky Limeade, then cut out (by hand!)
I added a couple pearls in the top leaf for a little bling.
I stamped Thanks from Perfect Punches in Raspberry Ripple and punched with the Scallop Oval punch. It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Next up is a little favor for Halloween or Fall. I guess really Owls can be for any time! I used the vellum sack and the gogglie eyes from the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit, though!

The eyes are the 1 3/8" circle punched from Vellum cardstock and run thru the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder.
The centers are 3/4" of Daffodil Delight and 1/2" Circle of Basic Black with Googlies eyes in the center.
The beak is a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock folded in half, then put thru the Pennant Punch (be careful you are cutting thru 2 layers!) I then punched a smaller triangle with the Pennant Punch of Daffodil Delight for the inside.
The "nostrils" are 1/8" Circle punched from Basic Black cardstock.
I punched the wings from Vellum Cardstock and the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch cut in half and attached with Silver Brads to the front of the vellum sack.
The feet are the Pennant punched three times from Pumpkin Pie and adhered together, then adhered to the bottom of the bag.
I filled it with some Hershey Nugget candies. The bag is tied closed with Linen Thread tied in a bow at the top.

And here is my card, using Perfectly Preserved again!

This time I used some punch art pumpkins for filling the jar. And, instead of using the entire bonnet for the top of the jar, I cut out just the skirt part!

The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry, and I layered on Tangerine Tango.
On top of that is Lucky Limeade that I stamped with the swirl in Everything Eleanor, then I used a piece of Summer Smooches Designer Paper for the "table".
I stamped the mason jar from Perfectly Preserved in Black Stazon on Whisper White and cut it out.
I stamped the bonnet in Rich Razzleberry and only cut out the ruffled skirt part for the jar. Then I made a bow from doubled Linen Thread and adhered with a mini glue dot to the jar.
I punched the Small Oval from Tangerine Tango six times for the two pumpkins and put them together. I used the stem stamped in Lucky Limeade for the top and accented them with a White Gel Pen.
I stamped Thank You from Perfectly Preserved in Rich Razzleberry and punched it with the Small Oval, too.
Finally, I stamped the bird from Everything Eleanor in Basic Black and cut him out, placing him on the "table", too.

Perfectly Preserved Wedding

One of the stamp sets we are featuring this week on Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition 2012 is Perfectly Preserved and the coordinating Cannery Framelits. I love, love, love the mason jar…they are so IN right now! My nephew (the baby of the family!) just got married last weekend. Their invitation had a mason jar on it and the centerpieces were all different sized mason jars with photos, candles and flowers. Wish I would have taken of picture of them! My sister-in-law made them and they were gorgeous…Pinterest worthy! lol!

This is also entered into Moxie Fab World's Jars of Joy Challenge…using mason jars in an unusual way! Love the ideas on how to use the huge mason jar trend right now!

But…I set out to recreate the mason jar invitation with my wedding card to them! Her colors were Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder…very pretty for an outdoor wedding.

What do you think? Very different use for the Perfectly Preserved stamp set, isn't it? I love how it turned out!

The base is Pool Party. I layered on the lace from Fan Fair DSP and the coordinating check print is from that DSP package, too!
The jar is stamped with Basic Gray and cut with the Cannery Framelits. You can't see in the photo, but I overlayed the jar with a Window Sheet so it looks like glass!
The two hearts are the smallest size of the Heart Framelits from Pool Party. The pearls and the Basic Gray bow tie are actually on the outside of the Window Sheet layer.
The topper is stamped with Pool Party and cut with the Cannery Framelit, I wrapped Linen thread around and tied it in a bow.
I punched the Scallop Border Punch of Basic Gray and layered it behind the lacey Fan Fair DSP.
Finally, I stamped For the Newlyweds from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Gray on Very Vanilla and cut the end into a flag end, then tucked it behind the jar.

Isn't it CUTE????

Day 4 Preview – Perfectly Preserved

This card has been in my head for a while to do with the Perfectly Preserved stamp set, so since Debbie was featuring it today, I decided to show my card, too!

Yes! How about a preserved jar of eyeballs? lol! As my tag says…EEK!

Base is Tangerine Tango with Lucky Limeade embossed with Spider Web folder
Rich Razzleberry print is from Floral District Designer Paper
I sponged around the edges and highlighted the web with Basic Black ink.
The Perfectly Preserved jar is stamped on Crumb Cake and cut with the Cannery Framelit
I stamped the lid with Tangerine Tango and cut with the Cannery Framelit, too.
I used 1", 3/4", 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4" sized Circle Punches to make the eyeballs and highlighted with the White Gel Pen.
Linen thread tied in a bow around the lid.
I used Border Banter for the Spooky greeting, and handwritten EEK on the Small Jewelry Tag.

Creepy, huh? Hope you like it!

August Tour de Freaks – Back to School

It's time! It's the August Tour de Freaks, brought to you by the Control Freak Swappers! Our theme this month is Back to School Hard to believe it is that time again! You've probably just come from Yvette's blog...aren't her projects cute?

I wanted to design an easy, back to school thank you for teachers. Something they could use, but wasn't too hard to pull together! So, here is a little something for their desk!

Starting with the Apple Tree card.

The base of the card is Real Red. I layered on Whisper White. At the bottom, I cut the ground in a curve with Old Olive cardstock. I ran it thru the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Impressions Folder, then highlighted the raised areas with Old Olive Ink. I like how that turned out! Then I cut a small thin strip of the Early Espresso Coredinations Paper, used the Woodgrain folder again on it, and sanded off the raised areas. I made sure I got that fun "knot" of wood. The tree topper is the scallop circle from the Perfect Pennants Die, and a 2" Circle Polka Dot Parade DSP inside. I stamped the apple from Perfectly Preserved stamp set and cut them out with the Cannery Framelits Set. I added a Rhinestone jewel to the front of each apple. Finally, I stamped Thank You in Real Red from Wacky Wishes hostess stamp set!

Next is a little photo or note holder made from a large binder clip! I covered the base with the Storytime DSP rulers, layered on Real Red or So Saffron cardstock…so fun! I added large scallop circles (Real Red on one side and So Saffron on the other), then 1 3/4" punched circles inside. I used the Fancy Fan to emboss the center area. Then used Perfectly Preserved and Cannery Framelits again for the apples on each side. I tied a 1/4 Real Red Stitched Ribbon around the base, too.

My last project is a teeny tiny paint can. I think it is the 2 oz size. On top is a So Saffron Circle and I used the Apple again for on top. I tied the little opener ring onto the handle with the 1/4 Real Red Stitched Ribbon, then I adhered the bottom to another Scallop Circle from the Perfect Pennants Die. Inside are colorful plastic paper fasteners. I love the colorful office supplies and thought they would be useful for a teacher's papers!

CCMC212 – Perfectly Preserved

It's time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a FUN color challenge for you to try using Real Red, Sahara Sand and Basic Black!

First thing I thought of is back to school and APPLES to use with this color scheme! So…here is my card!

I was SO excited to see the canning jar in our new Holiday Catalog. Isn't it fabulous??? Love the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and the matching framelits just put it OVER THE TOP! Now…my card is pretty simple…just blocks of color, but I thought it coordinated nicely with the stamp set!

I used Real Red from the Polka Dot Patterns Designer Paper and color blocked with Basic Black.
The base is Sahara Sand cardstock.
I added a Sahara Sand layer on top and used the corner rounder punch on two opposite corners.
I stamped the Canning Jar with Basic Black on Whisper White and used the matching framelit to cut it out. The top is Real Red and the apple is Real Red with a Sahara Sand stem and black seeds, colored over the Real Red with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.
The greeting is from Petite Pairs.
I wrapped the Basic Black Scallop Dot Ribbon around and tied a knot on the front.
For some bling, I added Rhinestones in the bottom corner and on the apple!
