Saturday Blog Hop – Beach Time

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Beach Time”. With the weather FINALLY warming up in Ohio, it is time to think about a trip to the beach!

NOTES & TOTES

This bundle was one of the first to jump into my shopping cart! SO cute! My Stamp Class made this card last month and they loved it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Beige cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Summer Splash was embossed with the Soft Waves Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock was torn across the top, then stamped with the “sand” image randomly over the entire piece with Crumb Cake Ink. The greeting from Notes & Totes was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink.
The tote was cut with the Die from 3 x 4-3/4 Florals in Bloom DSP and folded on the scorelines.
The handle, bands, base and sunglasses were cut with the Dies from Misty Moonlight cardstock and added to the front of the tote.
The rim of the sunglasses, starfish and bottle were cut from Timid Tiger cardstock with the Die. The sunglasses were adhered together and the bottle was stamped with the sun in Timid Tiger Ink. Just the top of the bottle was cut again from Basic White cardstock and trimmed, then adhered to the Timid Tiger bottle top.
All pieces were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two orange 2025-27 In Color Flat Pearls were added to the starfish and sun on the bottle.

CSF873 – Perfectly Pears

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge! It’s a fun sketch this week!

PERFECTLY PEARS

Yes! I’m finally using my new stamp set, Perfectly Pears, that I won at the spin-the-wheel on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip! I love that there is an entire suite of products for this…and the rest of my Suite just came, and I couldn’t wait to get started!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Beige cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 to form the base card.
A 2 x 5 piece of Painterly Pears DSP was added to the left side.
Another 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 coordinating Painterly Pears DSP was added on top.
A 3/4 x 3-1/2 strip of Flirty Flamingo cardstock was added across the front.
Hello was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2 strip of Basic White and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The large pear and flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White. The inside pear with Darling Duckling Ink and speckled with Flirty Flamingo Ink. The flower centers were stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink. Some Darling Duckling Ink was brushed on the edges of the flowers. All were cut with the Perfectly Pears Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The outline leaves were stamped full strength with Old Olive Ink and the insides with stamped off Old Olive Ink. It was cut with the Dies and added to the top of the pear with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of yellow Low Profile Sparkle Dots were added to the background.

I love the dark background against these colors and this set worked great with this sketch! SO pretty! Check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Stamping Friends.

CS197 – Sunrise Sailing

It’s a new month and for the month of June we are featuring “masks”. There are SO many different ways to mask!

SUNRISE SAILING

Here’s a second type of masking that I called Reverse Masking. Place the mask shape down and then brush the ink around the edges. I also did a third type of masking…torn edge…on this card. It’s similar to my straight edge card from last week but uses a torn edge!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
I punched a 2″ circle from scrap paper and laid it on top of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Cloud Cover cardstock towards the left side. I used a Blending Brush to add Cloud Cover Ink around the edges…brushing from inside the mask circle to the outside.
The greeting was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink in the upper right corner.
I tore a piece of copy paper across the top and placed it above the area I wanted to make the waves. I used a Blending Brush to add the Cloud Cover Ink across the bottom, then stamped the long waves image with Cloud Cover Ink over top, tone-on-tone.
The sailboat was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White cardstock and the stripes with Cloud Cover Ink. It was cut with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The boat hull was colored with Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends.
The cloud was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

IM388 – Peace on Earth

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration is a field of brightly colored flowers!

PEACE ON EARTH

The Peace on Earth Bundle is part of the Creativity Now Event for demonstrators later in June. It will also be available for customers to purchase in the upcoming Sept-Dec Mini catalog! This bundle includes an all-occasions stamp set and a beautiful die set with doves, greenery and labels! Today’s card came together pretty quickly and is perfect to send to someone needing a little uplifting message!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper was added to the front. (I love these printed scenery DSPs!)
Two of the same doves were cut from Basic White cardstock and the front wing was cut apart and added back to the body using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional to give the wing some movement.
The greeting was stamped with Balmy Blue Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the smaller label die with the greeting towards the top, then trimmed off along the bottom.
The 6″ of Gold Mesh Striped Ribbon was folded in half and placed on the front using a Stampin’ Dimensional. The greeting was added over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The dove then was added to the corner with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used the Basic Black Marker to add an eye.

Saturday Blog Hop – Fun with Dots

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Fun with Dots”. Over the past few weeks, we have featured plaids, stripes and now dots! I’m a huge fan of DSP that has these simple elements in them.

TURTLE-Y CUTE

So, I’ve pulled out my Turtle-y Cute Designer Paper for this week’s blog hop! I LOVE these multi-colored dots! They worked perfectly on my little gifts I made for special friends during our recent Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Disney World!!! I found the Mickey Mouse pens at a little gift store in Florida and made the cover for them!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 2 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 6-1/2 and 7.
The corners were rounded with a Corner Rounder at the top and bottom.
A 1-3/4 x 6 piece of Turtle-y Cute polka dot DSP was added to the back (inside) of the pen holder (the top was rounded first).
The second piece of Turtle-y Cute polka dot DSP was added to the front flap (round the top corners).
A 3/4″ Circle was cut through the front to hold the pen.
Some Monoadhesive Glue was used to adhere to the front flap to the back.
I used a Disney font to type the words “Have a Magical Day!” and printed on Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Labeled with Love Punch and re-punched it to shorten the width. It was added to the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Mickey Mouse head was cut with a 1-1/4 Circle Punch and two 3/4″ Circle Punches from Basic Black cardstock. The trousers were punched with the 1-1/4 Circle Punch and cut in half and adhered to the Basic Black circle.
Two 1/8″ Circles were punched from Crushed Curry cardstock for the buttons. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The pen slides down in the hole to the inside and some Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon was tied around the holder to hold the pen in place.

I finished them of by placing them in a cello bag.

I think it was a cute little gift to hand out and worked out perfectly to use for the Fun with Dots theme today! CSF872 – Beautiful Butterflies

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge! Love all the purples that Stampin’ Up! has in their color lineup. Here’s all three of them together for today’s color challenge!

BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES

I finally used the large butterfly in this stamp set! I’ve used the wings and the small butterflies on different cards, but not the large one! Right now, I only have the stamp set…still debating on getting the dies or not. They were on backorder for a long time, so I haven’t picked them up. But…now that they are on sale in June, it would be a great idea to get them 50% off during the sale!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 to form the base card.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped randomly with the smaller butterfly in Fresh Freesia Ink. It was added to the front.
Three strips of Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape cardstock were cut 3/4 x 4 and added to the center on the front.
Happy Birthday from Beautiful Butterflies was stamped with Gorgeous Grape on the top Fresh Freesia strip.
The butterfly was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink on Highland Heather cardstock and the dots with Highland Heather Ink. It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals just in the center under the body.
Two small light Purple Fine Shimmer Gems were added to the body.

CS196 – You are Remarkable

It’s a new month and for the month of June we are featuring “masks”. There are a multitude of different ways to mask on cards. I’ll be showing a few different techniques over the next few weeks!

YOU ARE REMARKABLE

First up I chose to do defined edge masking. Super simple. Take two long pieces of cardstock and tape them down leaving an opening on your card front approximately 1-1/4″ wide (or any width you decide).

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Add a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock on top of the base card.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock, temporarily adhere to long pieces of paper to mask and leave a 1-1/4″ gap. Use Daffodil Delight Ink and Granny Apple Green Ink with Blending Brushes to add spots of color in the open area. Remove the side masks. This will give you nice crisp edges along the masked color!
Stamp the leaves and flower with Memento Black Ink over the colored ink.
Stamp the greeting with Memento Black Ink in the lower left corner.
Add a trio of white/gold Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems to the background.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration is a field of brightly colored flowers!

IMPRESSIONS ABLOOM

I love both the flower stamps and flower dies in this Impressions Abloom bundle…but I chose to only use the Dies on this card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sea Foam cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Lovely Garden DSP was added on top.
The oval was cut from Soft Sea Foam cardstock using the Impressions Abloom die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The small, medium and large flowers with impressions details were cut from Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger and Strawberry Slush cardstock. The centers from Blackberry Bliss and the leaves from Garden Green cardstock. All were assembled on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Impressions Abloom was stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink on 1/2 x 2 Basic White cardstock strip and the end cut at an angle. It was tucked under the flowers on the left side with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of 2025-27 In Color Flat Pearls were added to the background.
