IM382 – Gone Fishing

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is a fish print.

GONE FISHING

I’ve used this Gone Fishing Bundle for several projects…including my grandsons’ birthday parties!  So, I pulled it out to use again for this week’s Inspiration Monday Challenge since it will be retiring soon.  It does make great masculine cards.  I’ll probably keep it in my stash for a while longer.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pecan Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Lost Lagoon was added on top.
  • The 3 x 5-1/4 layer of Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper was cut with the water wave Gone Fishing Die across the top and added to the front approx. 3/4″ from the top.
  • A 2 x 5-1/4 strip of Crumb Cake cardstock was torn across the top, sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and stamped with the Happy Retirement greeting.  It was adhered across the bottom.
  • The “seaweed” was cut with the Textured Floral Die from Pecan Pie cardstock and sponged with Garden Green Ink.  They were tucked into the top of the sand with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three fish were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Light Lost Lagoon, Light Wild Wheat and Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  They were cut with the Die and adhere between the seaweed with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background around the fish.

Saturday Blog Hop – Embossing Folder Technique

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week our theme is “Embossing Folder Techniques”.  This should be lots of fun and give you some great technique ideas!

BLOOMING PHRASES

Well, I’m quite on the kick about using this new Online Exclusive, Blooming Phrases!  The scripty greetings are so pretty…and really are the focal point!  One of the main ways I like to use vellum is embossing on it…but SU doesn’t carry plain vellum anymore.  So, I wondered what it would look like on a printed vellum!  I’d say it worked out REALLY well!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Summer Splash cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock was added on top.
  • The 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Floral & Gingham Vellum was embossed with the new floral Glass & Gardens Embossing Folder.  It was added to the front with Mini Glue Dots in each corner and along the side.  LOVE how it appears white when embossed!
  • A 1 x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the Blooming Phrases greeting in Summer Splash Ink and the leaves with Granny Apple Green Ink.  The flower was stamped with Strawberry Slush Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added to the stem with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Gold Striped 3/8″ Mesh Ribbon was tied in a knot and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.

CSF866 – Impressions Abloom

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  This week is a summery color challenge!  When I first looked at this challenge, I thought we had just done a challenge with these colors…I had to go back and look!  Similar, but we used Calypso Coral instead of the Melon Mambo…so it is different!

IMPRESSIONS ABLOOM

I’m kind of on a kick about using this new Online Exclusive set, Impressions Abloom!  Of course, it’s flowers…always one of my favorites to design!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Summer Splash cardstock was added on top.
  • The 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Lovely Garden DSP was added to the bottom.
  • The greeting from Impressions Abloom was stamped with Lemon Lime Twist ink on 3/4 x 3-1/2 strip of Basic White and the end cut at an angle.  It was added on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to help hide the seam.
  • The flowers were cut from Melon Mambo and Basic White and the leaves from Lemon Lime Twist using the Impressions Abloom Dies.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the base of the white flower.
  • Some Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems were added to the background.

CS190 – Thankful Gardens

We’re continuing our theme of Gardens this month with our Creatively Simple challenge!

THANKFUL GARDENS

I always like to do a card using all of our new In Colors for my stamping classes.  These colors especially coordinate well together.  I like the pop of white against the colors!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • 1 x 4 strips of each In Color…Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger, Secret Sea, Cloud Cover and Strawberry Slush were punched across the top and bottom with the Happy Labels Punch, then adhered to the front of the base card.
  • Two leaf clusters were cut with the Thankful Garden Dies from Basic White cardstock and added to the front.
  • The greeting from Thankful Garden was stamped with Secret Sea Ink on Basic White and cut with the Textured Notes rectangle die.  It was added over the leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three of the In Color Flat Pearls were added to the background.

IM381 – Citrus Blooms

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is a bunch of oranges print!

CITRUS BLOOMS

I used the Citrus Blooms Bundle a LOT when it first came out!  So was happy to use it again on today’s challenge before it retires!  I combined it with some new products…Darling Duckling and Timid Tiger cardstock and the Everyday Arches Dies…for an updated look!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Darling Duckling (new In Color!) cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 2-1/2 x 4 panel of Mediterranean Blooms Designer Paper was added to the front towards the bottom.
  • Two 3/8 x 6 strips of Timid Tiger cardstock were added on a diagonal across the top and trimmed off the sides.
  • Basic White cardstock was cut with the Everyday Arch die and stamped with the single orange image and greeting in Memento Black Ink.  Two corners were stamped with the cross images in Lemon Lolly Ink.
  • The image was colored with Peach Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals on an angle.
  • Four small flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Lemon Lolly and Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the dies and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Rainbow Dots were colored with Pumpkin Pie Blends for a variegated look and added to the flower centers.

We just visited the Florida Naturals orange juice welcome center when we were in Florida a few weeks ago.  This card definitely reminds me of some of the old juice labels we saw in the museum!  OK, check out Debbie’s Inspiration Monday card over on Create with Stamping Friends!

CSF865 – Framed Scenes

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge!  This week is a fun sketch!

FRAMED SCENES

Framed Scenes is an Online Exclusive that I picked up because of the lighthouse and treehouse images!  I also thought it would make nice masculine cards!  The images are small enough that they are easy to color.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Beige cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pecan Pie was embossed with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder and then brushed across the top with Crumb Cake Ink to hit the tops of the ridges.  It was added to the front.
  • A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Woven Textures Designer Paper was added towards the top.
  • The frame from Framed Scenes Dies was cut from Crumb Cake and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The treehouse was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and punched with the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch.  It was colored with Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Real Red and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends.  The circle was added over the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Simply Said greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2 x 3 strip of Basic Beige and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Beige Neutral Matte Dots were added to the background.

We’re continuing our theme of Gardens this month with our Creatively Simple challenge!

On Saturday, I mentioned I had a second card made with retiring In Colors, Wildly Flowering DSP and the new online exclusive, Blooming Phrases, coming the first of May.  The first one was Moody Mauve, and here’s the second card I made featuring Boho Blue!  This one fit our Garden challenge!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Boho Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Wildly Flowering DSP was added to the front.
  • The coordinating Crumb Cake Wildly Flowering DSP print was cut 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 and added across the front.
  • The Blooming Phrases greeting was stamped with Pebbled Path Ink on the front and the flower with Boho Blue Ink.  The little leaves were stamped with Wild Wheat Ink.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some 2023-25 In Color Jute Twine was tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Two Wild Wheat 2023-25 In Color Opaque Sparkle Dots were added under the greeting.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is a cute bunny in a daisy patch!

STORYBOOK FRIENDS

I thought one more spring card for Easter would be fun to make!  I love the neutrals in this one…with just a POP of yellow!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Perennial Garden DSP was added to the front.
  • The bunny from Storybook Friends was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Crumb Cake Combo and Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Storybook Friends Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Several flowers were cut from Basic White cardstock with the new Impressions Abloom Dies (Online Exclusive), the centers from Darling Ducking cardstock (new In Color) and the leaves from Crumb Cake cardstock.  All were assembled around the bunny and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the centers with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.
  • Happy Spring from Storybook Friends was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock and the end cut at an angle.  It was tucked around the bunny and the flowers with Stampin’  Dimensionals.
