SUOC159 Holly Berry Happiness

Our theme this time over on SUO Challenges is “Holiday Papers”.  I almost went with Halloween papers, but at the last minute decided to go with a simple Christmas card!  It would be easy to mass produce these for your Christmas card list!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler, folded in half.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Presents & Pinecones DSP, two lengths of Cherry Cobbler Taffeta Ribbon was places across the middle and secured in the back, then adhered to the base card.
  • A Whisper White Layering Oval was cut, then stamped with the greeting from Holly Berry Happiness stamp set in Cherry Cobbler Ink.  It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The two holly leaves were stamped with Memento Black on Emerald Envy and punched, the berries were punched from Red Glimmer Paper.  Both were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

SUOC95 White Pansy Flowers

The theme this time over on SUO Challenges is Featuring Flowers!  Well, isn't that an easy one for me!  I have to hold myself back from using flowers all the time!  I always say, no more flower sets…but end up ordering the newest ones each year!  With the NEW catalog coming out soon, I'm excited to see what new ones they have for us!  This one I decided to use Punch Flowers in a crisp white color with some of the Eastern Elegance Designer Paper!

This came together very quickly!  Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Whisper White, folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Eastern Elegance Designer Paper to the front.
  3. I cut a 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and measured the center point at 2 5/8", then cut from the sides to the center point to make an "envelope" look on the front.  I embossed this piece with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.
  4. Next I punched two Pansy Punches and two Petite Flower Punches out of Whisper White and layered them together with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. I cut two Itty Bitty flower punches (RETIRING SOON!) from the same DSP and placed them in the center of the flowers with Rhinestone Jewels.
  6. I cut two Little Leaves Sizzlet (on the RETIREMENT LIST) from Pear Pizzazz and added them to the front of the card with Mini Glue Dots, then added the White Flowers.
  7. Finally, I stamped Hello from Four You in Black Stazon on the front DSP.

SUOC91 Eggstra Spectacular

It's time for another Stampin'' Up! Only Challenge and this time it is all about BANNERS!  They are SO popular now and you see all different types!  I'm amazed at how different all the Design Team cards were this week!  Go check them out on SUO Challenges blog to see for yourself!

 

Here's my version.  I did a "bunting" style banner using the smallest Starburst Framelits and scoring them almost in half.  Doesn't it give the banner a completely different look than the triangles or pennants?

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x  8 1/2 Whisper White, folded in half.
  2. I cut a 4 x 5 1/2 layer of the green print in Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper (SAB selection!) and used the Starburst Framelit to cut out the starburst in the lower right corner.
  3. I strung some White Bakers Twine across the left top corner and adhered the ends in the back.
  4. I cut 5 of the smallest Starburst Framelits from Always Artichoke cardstock, then scored them slightly off center (about 5/8").  Then I fitted the Starbursts around the Bakers Twine.  Two of the center ones are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. I tied bows of White Bakers Twine and added them to the ends with Mini Glue Dots.
  6. I used the flower Itty Bitty Punch and punched 5 So Saffron flowers and added small Rhinestones in the center.
  7. I placed the Designer Paper layer on the Whisper White Base, then stamped the bunny image from Eggstra Spectacular with Black Stazon thru the Starburst opening on the Whisper White.
  8. I used my AquaPainter and So Saffron Marker to watercolor the bunny.  I also watercolored over the greeting with Pistachio Pudding Marker.
  9. Finally, I added a trio of the flower Itty Bitty punches under the greeting with Rhinestones in the center.

SUO80 Zoo Babies

This week's SUO Challenge has the theme of Welcome Baby!  Seems like we are in that circle of life where our friends are having grandchildren and I've been sending out a lot of them!  I bought the stamp set, Zoo Babies, exactly for that reason!

 

 

Love the colors in the I Am Me Designer Paper, so picked out the colors to use on my zoo animals!

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, folded in half.  I used the Alphabet Press folder to emboss the front.
  2. I cut a 2 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of I Am Me Designer Paper, then added the Adorning Accent Edgelits scallop borders cut from Crushed Curry cardstock.
  3. I cut a Window Frame (3rd from smallest) of Pool Party, then cut off the circle sides for a different look and to make it narrower.  It was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  4. The giraffe was stamped with Crushed Curry ink and stamped on Whisper White, then cut out.  I used Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate and Really Red makers to color the Toucan Bird image, then stamped on Whisper White and cut out.  Both of them were placed with Stampin' Dimensionals on front.
  5. I stamped "A gift for baby" from Zoo Babies with Smoky Slate ink on Whisper White strip, then cut flag ends.

SUCO73 – Perfect Blend

Our challenge on SUO Challenges this time is to use our favorite accessory.  Well, sorry…I can't just use ONE…there are a whole LOT of accessories that I absolutely love!  But, I pulled out one of my new favorite sets, Perfect Blend, to see what I could do!  lol!  And…my favorite accessory?  Right now it is the Candy Dots…what a GREAT idea!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
  2. Layered on top is a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.
  3. On top of that is a 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip of Epic Day Designer Paper, the hexagon print, cut with a flag end.
  4. Another Daffodil Delight print in the same DSP was cut to 2 1/4 x 3.
  5. Yet another green polka dot print from that DSP was cut to 2 x 2 and also used on the cup band. (TIP:  stamp the middle part of the coffee cup on the back of the side of DSP you are using, then cut just slightly inside the lines.  Adhere the right side showing on the cup.)
  6. The coffee cup from Perfect Blend was stamped with Black Stazon on Calypso Coral and cut out.  A Calypso Coral marker was used to highlight the shaded areas to make them darker.  Top lid of the coffee cup was stamped on Crumb Cake with Black Stazon and cut out, too.  A Crumb Cake marker was used for shading on the lid.
  7. I used a strip of Epic Day Washi tape across the front (another favorite accessory).
  8. I stamped the greeting from Perfect Blend in Black Stazon on scrap Crumb Cake and punched with the new Artisan Label Punch (yes, another favorite!) 
  9. But now…what did I use for the coffee ring stains and spots???  Can you guess?  I used the spots stamp from My Paper Pumpkin's first kit in Crumb Cake ink.  AND, I used the bottom of an embossing powder jar to make the rings.  I just inked up the bottom and stamped right on the designer paper!  Gives it a fun look!  Wish they would have included the rings stamp IN the set, but I improvised and it worked!
  10. The greeting was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  11. I punched a Small Heart from Calypso Coral for the band on the cup, then added the Brights Candy Dot on top!

I love it!!!  Hope you like it, too!

SUOC67 Rain or Shine

It's time for another SUO Challenge and the theme this time is Spring is in the Air.  Of course, spring in Ohio always means LOTS of rain (or snow like this year!)  I've been looking out my back door this past week and the robins are around with fat little tummies!  So beautiful to hear the birds chirp in the morning.

 

I grabbed Rain or Shine because it says SPRING to me!  Love the umbrellas in the DSP that coordinate with it, don't you?

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. 4 1/4 x 11 of Whisper White, folded in half to make base card.
  2. 3 1/2 x 4 piece of Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Paper, rounded the right corners.
  3. A coordinating piece of DSP in that package was cut to 5 x 1 1/2 and rounded the corners, too.
  4. I cut an Oval Framelit from Marina Mist and stamped the greeting at the bottom with Basic Gray.
  5. The Umbrella I stamped in Melon Mambo and the handle in Daffodil Delight, fussy cut them out and added to the oval with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added Rhinestone jewels along the fringe of the umbrella for some sweet sparkle!
  6. Another bit of sparkle is the Designer Builder Brad that I punched a 1/2" piece of DSP and adhered it inside the circle area with the clear topper, then cut off the legs of the brad to glue it to the front with Mini Glue Dots.

SUOC62 More Amore

Not a lot of stamping on here, but I did use the More Amore Designer Paper that I LOVE!  This is for the SUO Challenge this week to use our "NEW TOYS"!  There is a similar look to the card I did yesterday with the Hearts of Flutter framelits, but I changed up the greeting banner and colors.  Don't you LOVE those scallop hearts you can cut apart on the More Amore DSP?

Here are the details, using lots of new toys, of course!

  1. Base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 of Very Vanilla, folded in half.
  2. I layered a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Primrose Petals Core'dinations paper that I embossed with the Honeycomb folder and sanded.
  3. I cut a 1 1/2 x 5 piece of Pool Party cardstock an used the Needlepoint folder on one edge, then added a 1 x 5 strip of More Amore Designer Paper.
  4. The Scallop Heart was cut from the Primrose Petals sheet in More Amore.
  5. I used the Hearts a Flutter framelits to cut the small heart and the tag again, tying with Crochet Trim and Linen Thread and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  There is also a Rhinestone Jewel in the corner.
  6. I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Black on a 1/2 x 3 1/2 strip of Pool Party and folded the ends into the banner look with flag cut ends.  I added two more Rhinestone jewels on each end.

I think I have a really great start on my Valentine Cards this year, don't you think?

SUOC60 – Snowflakes

This time on SUO Challenges we were challenged to use lots of GLITTER!  Easy enough (and no mess!) to use Stampin' Up!'s Glimmer Papers.  I love the rich colors of Real Red, Silver and Champagne!  Again, I let the Big Shot do all the work to make this simple, but WOW card!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. I cut the Crumb Cake to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half to make the base card.
  2. I ran the front thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder to emboss.
  3. I cut the snowflakes from the Snow Flurry Die and Silver, Champagne and Real Red Glimmer Paper.  I adhered the small one over top the medium sized one with Glue Dots, then adhered them to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  4. I cut the tag from Apothecary Accents and Whisper White, then embossed Season's Greetings from More Merry Messages with Gold Embossing Powder on it.  It is also popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals!

 

That's it!  Really, it took more time to run the Glimmer Paper thru the Big Shot than it did to make this entire card!  But…it does have lots of SPARKLE!
