Saturday Blog Hop – Birthday

This week’s blog hop theme is Birthday cards!  I don’t know about you, but we get hit with LOTS of birthdays in June, October and December!  They are all clustered together!  So…thought it would be fun to get some new birthday card ideas!

SWEETS & TREATS

I matched up the Sweets & Treats stamp set with the Seasonal Swirls Dies for a sweet wreath card!  I was thinking it would be kind of fun to have a cupcake wreath hanging on my front door during my birthday month!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 So Saffron cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
  • A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Pattern Party Designer Paper (Host only option) was added to the bottom, with a 1/4 x 4 strip of So Saffron cardstock added on top to hide the seam.
  • The greenery wreath was cut from Pear Pizzazz cardstock and Rose Gold Metallic Paper.  They were intertwined together and added to the front with Tombow Monoadhesive Glue.
  • Two cupcakes and the heart from Sweets & Treats stamp set were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock.  They were colored with Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  They were hand-cut and added to the wreath with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Happy birthday from Sweets & Treats was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 So Saffron cardstock, the end cut at an angle and added to the wreath with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Artistry Blooms Sequins were added to the icing, heart and the wreath for a little more bling!

Saturday Blog Hop – Spooky Halloween

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop theme is “Spooky Halloween”.  Although Stampin’ Up! doesn’t seem to carry really SPOOKY type stamp sets, I think ghosts are spooky in nature…even if they are cute like this one!  I always loved watching Casper the Friendly Ghost cartoon (who else remembers that show?)

SWEETS & TREATS meets FRIGHTFULLY CUTE

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock was stamped with the spider from Frightfully Cute Stamp Set in the upper left corner.
  • The spider web was cut from Black Glitter Paper with the Frightful Tags Dies and added towards the right side.
  • Two pieces of Cute Halloween DSP were added across the front.  The “boo” pattern is 1 x 5, cut with a flag end; the stripe is 3/8 x 4-1/4, cut with an angled end.
  • The “ghost” is the cover from the Sweets & Treats stamp set, stamped in Memento Black Ink on Basic White and hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two 3/8″ eyes were cut from Basic Black cardstock and highlighted with the White Chalk Pen.
  • Frightfully Cute greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Pumpkin Pie cardstock, then cut with the Frightful Tags Dies, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Saturday Blog Hop – On the Table

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is “On the Table”.  What is on YOUR table?  I know I’d LOVE to see a pie on mine!  lol!  I used Stampin’ Up!’s Sweets & Treats stamp set and combined it with the Cookin’ Dies for my card.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Fresh Freesia cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of striped Penguin Playmates (free SAB designer paper) was added to the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
  • The stand and pie from Sweets & Treats stamp set were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with the Soft Sea Foam, Fresh Freesia and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  They were hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The cutting board was cut from Crumb Cake cardstock with the Cookin’ Dies.
  • The heart from Sweets & Treats was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Fresh Freesia cardstock, then hand-cut and added to the cutting board with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the background.
  • A bow was tied from Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon and added to the handle of the cutting board with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • A Fresh Freesia In Color Jewel was added next to the heart.
  • Some Wink of Stella was added to the stand so it looks like glass.

CCMC676 – Sweets & Treats

Happy Thursday!  It’s time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  We have a pretty color combination for you this week.  I was inspired to use it for a non-traditional colored Christmas card!

SWEETS & TREATS STAMP SET

One thing I liked best about this set is that it really can be used for all occasions, but I LOVE that fig pudding image!  It reminds me of the Nothing Bundt Cakes if you have those stores around you!  So fun to get an individual sized bundt cake…and they are SO delicious!  This card came together really quickly!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Petal Pink cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
  • A 2-1/2 x 5 piece of Night of Navy was added to the background.
  • The 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Pansy Patch Designer Paper was wrapped with Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon tied in a knot and added on top towards the left.
  • A 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Basic White was added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The fig pudding and cake stand images from Sweets & Treats Stamp Set were stamped with Night of Navy Ink on scrap Basic White, then colored with Petal Pink and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends (be careful so the Night of Navy Ink doesn’t smear).  They were hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Sweets & Treats was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on Petal Pink cardstock, then punched with the Double Oval Punch and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Wink of Stella was added to the “frosting” (again, be careful).
  • A trio of In Color Jewels were added to the background for some bling!

I was unsure if I needed to get this set or not, but SO happy that I did!  Next up is making some birthday cards!  Go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this color combination over on Create with Connie and Mary!
