White Christmas

One of my favorite things in Stampin’ Up!’s White Christmas stamp set is the little car. I love the little tree on top! It reminds me of my childhood when my folks had a big green station wagon to haul all of us around! It had a reverse seat in the back so that we could wave out the back window at cars and trucks…it folded down into the floor when not in use! Anyone remember those? lol! Anyway…here’s a card I made. Leave off the sequins and it would be totally mailable without any extra postage!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Soft Sky folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White.
I cut a 2 1/4 x 3 piece of All Is Calm Designer Paper (love the metallic snowflakes!) and placed on the upper left side. I added a 3/4 x 2 piece of a coordinating DSP design and cut a flag end.
Under the DSP, I stamped “Thinking of you…” with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White, I stamped the car and tree with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, then colored with my Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Coastal Cabana Blendabilities markers. I punched it out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and layered on a 2″ Circle punch of Soft Sky. It’s popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, for a little bling, I added some Frosted Sequins and Snowflake with a Rhinestone inside.

We’re all ready to head out for the holidays, right?

Week 3: White Christmas with Aurora Lights

I’ve been wanting to use this White Christmas stamp set and do some aurora lights in the background. It is on my bucket list to see the lights up close and personal one day. I did see them when I was younger from a far distance, but I want to be CLOSE!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 x 10, folded in half to make a 5×5 square card.
I cut a 4 x 4 3/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock, and layered a 1 3/4 x 4 3/4 piece of All is Calm Designer Paper along the left side. I used the Silver 1/8″ Ribbon to hide the seam and wrapped it around the back to adhere.
On a 4×4 piece of Whisper White, I stamped the trees with Early Espresso Ink, then filled them in with the Early Espresso Marker.
I stamped the trees again on scrap copy paper and cut a mask to lay over the snowy ground. Then I sponged Blushing Bride, Pool Party and Island Indigo Inks above the snow line.
I stamped the snowflakes with White Craft Ink all over the sponged area.
The polar bear was stamped with Tuxedo Black on scrap Whisper White and cut out. I added a little Pool Party Marker to him for shadows and placed him on the snow. I added the star with Tuxedo Black and colored with the Gold Marker.
Thinking of You at Christmas was stamped with Island Indigo in the upper right corner.
I layered the stamped Whisper White on a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of Island Indigo cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, I added a Blushing Bride Button tied with White Bakers Twine to the upper left side.

I LOVE how this turned out! Hope you like it, too!

Day 3 PREVIEW – White Christmas

It’s DAY 3 of PREVIEW WEEK over on Create with Connie and Mary and we’re counting down the days until we start the new Holiday Collection 2014! Last week, I told you I had used White Christmas for only the second time. Here is the card I used it on the first time! It was for my Control Freaks Holiday/Winter swap that I made last month. I just got the swaps back last week and they were fabulous! Here was my contribution:

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2, folded in half to make the square card.
The Whisper White layer is cut to 4 x 4 and along the bottom, I added a 1 1/2 x 4 Nordic Noel Designer Paper.
I used the Real Red Satin Woven Ribbon and wrapped it to the back to adhere and hide the seam.
In the upper left corner, I stamped Merry Christmas with Real Red Ink.
The snowflake DSP was punched with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, then I added a Soft Sky Snowflake from the Snowflake Card Thinlet Die to the center.
I stamped the Snowman from White Christmas with Black Stazon on Whisper White and used Real Red, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green Markers to color it. Then I punched it with the 1″ Circle Punch and added it to the snowflake with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On my prototype, I added four Rhinestone Jewels on the snowflake!

CCMC323 White Christmas

“I’m dreaming…of a White Christmas”…well, no…definitely NOT me. But this Stampin’ Up! set would really put you in the mood, wouldn’t it? I must admit. I bought this set, then stared at it for a month. Just didn’t know what to do with it! But, I pulled it out to see if I could get some inspiration. Today’s Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge seemed like a perfect time to use it!

And here is my card. Don’t you love the diagonal panel on the front? Gives it a touch of whimsey! I also let the All Is Calm Designer Paper do most of the work!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Soft Sky, folded in half.
Ii cut a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Smoky Slate Printed DSP in the All Is Calm package, then tilted it slightly on the front and cut off the excess at the sides and top.
I also cut banners of DSP at 1 1/2 x 4 3/4 and 1/2 x 4, cut a flag end and added them to the front.
I stamped a single tree and cardinal from White Christmas stamp set with Black Stazon on Whisper White, then used Sahara Sand, Soft Sky and Real Red Markers to color.
I stamped the snow flurries image and Soft Sky ink in the sky several times. I cut it with the Circle Framelit and then layered it on Smoky Slate cardstock. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For some bling, I used a trio of the Frosted Sequins.
I stamped the greeting from White Christmas with Black Stazon in the lower right corner.
