CCMC224 – Winter Wonderland

Woohoo!!! Time for a color challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary. Since we are just getting ready to start our Holiday/Winter Card "Create"tions Edition, I thought I'd use these non-traditional colors for a winter/holiday card!

I used Winter Wonderland, these little ducks are just TOO cute! Lots of details and texture on here, too!

Here's the details:

Base card is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Lucky Limeade folded in half.
3 3/4 x 4 layer of So Saffron on top.
I ran the 3 1/2 x 3 3/4 layer of Whisper White thru the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines Folder to emboss.
I cut an Apothecary Accent Framelit from Island Indigo and used the piercing tool and mat around the edges.
I stamped the ducks with Black Stazon and watercolored with my AquaPainter and So Saffron, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo Stampin' Write Markers.
I stamped Merry Christmas from Family Reunion in Island Indigo on So Saffron strip and cut the flag end.
Finally, I tied a bow from Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon and placed an Island Indigo Printed Brad in the center.

Stylin’ Snowfolks Card #2

On Monday, I posted my first card from a trio of cards which used the Stylin' Snowfolks stamp set for the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions preview. I had a blast making up the different snowman, so here is the second card in the set! I think this one is my favorite out of the three. Now notice, one of the goals of Card "Create"tions is to make the MAILABLE…flat…so we don't have to pay extra postage on our Christmas cards. I think I succeeded by using Silver Glimmer to add sparkle instead of rhinestones that add bulk! His hatband sparkles along with the center of his bowtie!

Make a Mitten

Ahhh…thank you all for the sweet comments on my Stylin' Snowfolks card set! Here's a card I made using one of the sets…Make a Mitten…that will be featured by one of the designers during Card "Create"tions! I can't wait to see what Debbie does with it! I love how it has a coordinating punch!

Here are the details on my card!

The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 folded in half for the base card.
The 4 x 5 1/4 layer is Baja Breeze.
I cut a 2 x 5" strip of red print from Snow Festival Designer Paper.
I cut one of the square prints from Snow Festival DSP and covered up the center printed image with a 2 1/2" circle punched from Whisper White.
I stamped the greeting from More Merry Messages in Cherry Cobbler in the center of the circle.
I stamped two of the mittens in Lucky Limeade, then again in Baja Breeze, punching them both out with the Mitten punch and adhering the cuff and mitten top over the Lucky Limeade ones.
I tied the Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine in a double bow and adhered with a mini glue dot on the top of the mitten cuffs.
Finally, I added some rhinestone jewels along the edge of the designer paper.

I'm so excited to use the snowman set, Stylin' Snowfolks! I haven't seen a lot of samples done with it, so I hope you enjoy my ideas! I think I've mentioned (probably only a couple hundred times) that I love snowmen and usually do a snowman card for my Christmas card every year. Any of these would be fun to do! At first the little pieces in this Stylin' Snowfolks set kind of intimidated me…but the more I played with it, the more fun I had! It is easy to build them! Now, don't these little snowfolks look like they are wishing on a star?

It's time for another Thursday Challenge on Create with Connie and Mary! It's a sketch this week, and a FUN one at that! As usual, I'm amazed at our Challenge Team and how many different looks they can make with one sketch.

In my opinion, Winter Wonderland is one of the cutest "winter" theme stamps we've had in a long while. I like that they aren't Christmasy…just wintery ideas! Hmmm, maybe I should use this set for my Christmas cards. I always do a snowflake or snowman theme, but this sort of fits, don't you think? In fact…I really like this card…maybe I should use it for my card this year!

OK…here are the details!

The base of the card is Cherry cobbler, cut 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half.
The layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White I ran thru the Big Shot on only the top half with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.
I added the 2 x 5" strip of Snow Festival Designer Paper diagonally across the Whisper White, then trimmed off the extra on the sides.
I stamped Happy Christmas from More Merry Messages in Cherry Cobbler under the DSP.
Cut the Apothecary Accents piece from Cherry Cobbler, layer on a rectangle of Silver Glimmer paper inside.
Stamp the ice skater image with Black Stazon. I used my AquaPainter and Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, Blush Blossom (face), Pink Pirouette (cheeks) and Bashful Blue (snowflakes & ice) to color.
I punched with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, then layered on a 2" Gumball Green circle.
Finally, I added Rhinestone jewels to her hat and the top and bottom of the Apothecary Accent piece.

Although this definitely is Christmas themed, change the colors and greeting for any winter occasion!

Our last challenge for the Holiday Edition is a color challenge. We just have the Design Team do this challenge since the Holiday Edition officially ends today. Here's my card using Wonderful Winterland…a cute little winter set in the Holiday Mini! I haven't seen many samples using it…but it is too darling not to include!

My card is kind of generic…could be used for a variety of winter occasions…birthday, thinking of you…whatever. But, I felt the greeting was appropriate to the image! Here's the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Gumball Green cardstock folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Cherry Cobbler, embossed with the Lacy Brocade folder.
I included a 2 x 5 1/4 strip of Snow Festival Designer Paper across the bottom (I made sure the hearts were showing!)
The Gumball Green 3/8 Satin Stitch Ribbon covers the seam. And I also made a "free standing" bow.
I cut Primrose Petals Window Framelit and tucked it partially under the DSP.
I stamped the Wonderful Winterland image with Black Stazon on Whisper White and watercolored with my Stampin' Write Markers in Cherry Cobbler, Primrose Petals, Gumball Green and Soft Suede. I cut the next smaller Framelit and layered it on top with Stampin' Dimensionals and added the bow.
I stamped the greeting from Petite Pairs in Black Stazon and used the smallest Window Framelit to cut it out. It is layered on top with more Stampin' Dimensionals!

CCMC221 – Frosty Friends

It's time for another FUN sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! I knew immediately what stamp I would use for this challenge…Frosty Friends!

It is also one of the stamp images we are using this week over on Create with Connie and Mary…along with other great winter sets like Snowflake Soiree, the wheels, Winter Wonderland, Make a Mitten, and Winter Memories! We are almost finished with our daily posts of new projects, but it's not too late to join! Here's my Frosty Friends card! Isn't it fun? We did a SIMILAR card in my Cards, Cards, Cards class this week and I know they loved it!

Here are the details!

Base card is Cherry Cobbler cardstock, 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White, run thru the Big Shot with the Northern Flurry folder.
I stamped the snowmen image on Whisper White with Black Stazon and cut it out with the 3rd largest Label Framelits. Then sponged around the edges with Baja Breeze to set if off against the white background.
I colored the images with Stampin' Write markers in Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Baja Breeze.
I added a strip of the snowflake pattern in Snow Festival Designer Paper, then added little flag cuts of various DSPs in that package and a solid Baja Breeze cardstock one, too. Those are tucked under the DSP.
Finally, I stamped the greeting from Petite Pairs in Cherry Cobbler across the top.

I love this Frosty Friends image and plan on using it for my Christmas Cards this year.

Here's the FUN sketch challenge for this week:

I used Scentsational Seasons for my card…love this cute little set…and I loved my project this week using it! Sorry…can't show you that, but did you see the FREE Preview Tutorial I did using it, too? You can see it and get a taste of what our Holiday Edition is all about! You can find it HERE.

I used a base of Gumball Green cardstock and layered on Cherry Cobber that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Chevron Impressions Folder.
On top of that I used a piece of Snow Festival Designer Paper, with a Scallop Edge Border of Gumball Green along the right side.
I cut the Window Frame Framelit from Crumb Cake, and used the Festive Piercing Template around the edges. It is layered on a square of Champagne Glimmer Paper.
The tree was stamped with Gumball Green and Early Espresso for the trunk, then cut with the Holiday Collection Framelit. I used the star punch for the top from the Merry Minis Punch Pack.
I added a bow of Gumball Green Sweater Trim and a Merry Christmas greeting from Family Reunion stamp set in Gumball Green on the Whisper White.
