Day 4 Preview – Secret Garden

Robin has a fun card for you today using Secret Garden, so I thought I'd create one for you, too! Here is my version! I had to mount my set before I could use it for this card! I love that there are FRAMELITS to match it!

And isn't that Designer Paper wonderful??? My first time using it, too…but this is my favorite pattern in the package! Here are the details:

The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 of So Saffron, folded in half.
I layered on a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of the Tea for Two Designer Paper.
I stamped the leaves in Lucky Limeade and the flowers in Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla and cut them with the Secret Garden Framelits.
There is a 2 3/8 Scallop Circle of So Saffron and I pierced each of the scallops with the Piercing Tool, then tucked a scrap of Crochet Trim under the edge.
The flowers were placed with Stampin' Dimensionals and the leaves with Mini Glue Dots. Finally, I added one of the Flower Trim roses, sponged with So Saffron. I placed two of the large pearls inside the flower centers.
To My Friend from Friendly Phrases was stamped with Early Espresso ink on the scallop circle.

Day 3 – Hearts a Flutter

Woohoo! We're on Day 3 of the Create with Connie and Mary Preview Week. Have you been enjoying the FREE TUTORIALS we've provided for you? Today we have another one…there is a darling project by Julie Edmonds, one of our Design Team Members! Check it out over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Since her theme was "stitching"…I added a touch of "faux stitching" to MY card!

A very clean and simple card…quick to make up a BUNCH of them!

The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 of Primrose Petals, folded in half.
The next layer is 4 x 5 1/4 and I used the Needlepoint folder to run a line of "cross stitch" across the bottom portion. Under it is a 1/4" strip of More Amore Designer Paper.
I stamped the scallop heart with Basic Black on Primrose Petals and cut it with the Hearts a Flutter framelit, and stamped the little hearts image with Pink Pirouette on Whisper White and cut with the small heart framelit.
I added a trio of rhinestones in the larger one and a single rhinestone in the smaller heart.
Finally, I added the Sending a Kiss greeting from Petite Pairs in Basic Black.

As I said..clean and simple…

My little favor today was one that I swapped at Leadership in a Candy Swap. It turned out so much cuter than I had even thought in my head! Even my husband really thought it was cute and he rarely says anything! lol! It holds a full size Rolo candy "bar".

Want to know how to make it? Here we go!

I used the narrow tag from the Two Tags Die and cut two from Melon Mambo cardstock.
Score 5/8" from the bottom end on both tags to make the base.
Adhere to a 1 x 1 3/4" rectangle of Melon Mambo cardstock to secure and create the base.
Punch a 1 1/4" Scallop Circle out of the top of the front tag.
Cut a 1 1/2 x 6" strip of Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Paper, score at 1/2, 1 1/2, 3 1/4 & 4 1/4.
Starting at the back with the 1/2" tab, secure, then wrap it around to the front, using the score lines to create a "box" around both the tags. You will end up in the back again and overlap the 1/2" tab.
I decorated the front with a 1/4" strip of Marina Mist, stamped in Night of Navy with "Thanks a ton!"
I stamped the whale with Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White and cut it with the Whale Clearlit Die. I added a rhinestone for the eye and tied a bow of White Baker's Twine on the tail.
The spout of water was stamped with Night of Navy on Whisper White and handcut out, then adhered with a Mini Glue Dot to the front.
I cut more Designer Paper 3 x 4 1/4 to wrap around the Rolo candy, adhering it securely.
I tied the Marina Mist 3/8 Striped Organdy Ribbon around the candy roll and tied a bow.
On the bottom of the candy roll, I adhered a punched 3/4" circle of cardstock so that I could use Mini Glue Dots to hold the candy end in place on the bottom of the holder. It just secured it better than the gold foil wrapper did.
Slide the Rolo candy from the front to inside the box, the scallop circle hole helps hold it in place!

Oh Hello again

To celebrate, I've done up a card using Oh Hello! This is one of the first sets I purchased, mainly because of the bundle with the Oval Framelits…I've been using those a LOT! I'm SO happy to have Ovals back to use!

I love the bright colors in the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Paper…so cheery! Plus, it allows me to use up some of my left over packs of Melon Mambo cardstock! I think I only have one more package to go…I bought a lot of it for the two wedding invitations I did over the past two years! Here are the details:

Base Melon Mambo card is 4 1/4 x 11 folded in half.
I layered on 4 x 5 1/4 Lucky Limeade that I embossed with the Honeycomb folder (love it!)
I added two left over 1 x 5 1/4 strips of the S&S DSP along the left side.
I stamped the oval image from Oh Hello in Daffodil Delight on Whisper White, cut it with the Oval Framelit, then pierced around it.
The flower is inked up with Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade markers, then stamped along the bottom. The greeting is stamped with Island Indigo.
I added a trio of Rhinestones along the curve, and punched a small butterfly from Melon Mambo with a rhinestone for his body, too.
The chevron image is stamped in Melon Mambo and cut out, then tucked under the oval.

Love all the details on here and LOVE that new stuff!

Have you been enjoying the announcements of the Create with Connie and Mary Guest Designers this week? We have one more for you tomorrow and then the regular Design Team on Saturday! However, today it is time for our challenge…it's a pretty COLOR challenge this week!

I actually ended up making a couple different cards using this color combination…very soft and pretty looking, I think! I used By the Tides for this one! The other one will be my SUDSOL swap card at Leadership, so you'll see it when I return!

Here are the details!

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 of Pink Pirouette folded in half to form base card.
I added a layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White and stamped on the lower right corner with the script image in Pink Pirouette several times.
On the bottom left, I added a 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 rectangle of Print Poetry Designer Paper.
I added Midnight Muse ribbon and secured it to the back of the Whisper White, then added the layer to the front of the Pink Pirouette base.
I stamped Thinking of You from Sassy Salutations in Midnight Muse in the upper left corner.
The sea fan image is stamped with Versamark on Pink Pirouette and embossed with White Embossing Powder. I added Pink Pirouette ink with my sponge dauber around the image to make it pop and around the edges of the Label Framelit I cut.
The sea horse image was stamped twice on Whisper White with Midnight Muse and cut out, the placed with Stampin' Dimensionals on the label.
I stamped the Nantucket image in Midnight Muse and punched with the 1" Circle punch, and placed on the front with a Stampin' Dimensional, too.

Hearts a Flutter

It's Day 2 of our Guest Designer Announcements on Create with Connie and Mary! Our designer today is using LOTS of hearts on her project for the Spring Edition 2013! She shows off a card today with her introduction…go check out WHO it is at Create with Connie and Mary! We know you LOVE her work (and hint…so does Stampin' Up!)

I used Hearts a Flutter on my card today to celebrate her heart theme!

Can you believe I JUST opened my package of More Amore Designer Paper! I don't know what I was waiting for…I love the patterns in it. AND…useful for more than Valentine's Day projects! See that chevron pattern at the bottom…love it! And the linky pattern in one of the hearts…love it, too! Here are the details:

The base is Pool Party cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half.
I layered on 4 x 5 1/4 Very Vanilla cardstock.
At the bottom, the heart pattern from More Amore DSP measures 1 1/2 x 5 1/4, then I cut a 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip of the chevron pattern to go on top.
I hid the seam there with a piece of Sycamore Street Ribbon (Pool Party)…it's one of the new Sale-A-Bration packs coming soon!
In the upper right corner, I pierced the Heart image with the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. Then punched the Full Heart from DSP.
Next I stamped the Hearts A Flutter heart image with Black Stazon on Primrose Petals cardstock and cut it out with the matching Hearts a Flutter Framelits.
Finally, for some major bling, I thread the Calypso Coral Bakers Twine thru a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and placed it in one of the small Soda Pop Tops…that I ran thru the Big Shot to smash.
I stamped Be My Valentine from Delightful Dozen stamp set in Pool Party ink.

CCMC232 – Happy New Year

We have a beautiful color challenge for you this week on Create with Connie and Mary! I've actually used this color combination a lot during the holidays and it is especially perfect for New Year's!

I love the single stamp, Happy New Year, that Stampin' Up! came out with before the holidays! I don't do a lot of New Year's card, but I have had occasions once in a while. I'll be keeping this stamp in my supply, just because I think it is very unique!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 of Whisper White cardstock, folded in half to make the card.
I layered on 4 x 5 1/4 Pool Party that I embossed with the Lacy Brocade folder.
I added a 2 1/2 x 4 strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down the center.
I stamped the Happy New Year image with Versamark on Whisper White and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. Then I colored in the numbers with Pool Party marker.
I cut out the image with the Apothecary Accents and used the Essentials Piercing Template around the edges.
Finally, I added a bow of Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon adhered with Mini Glue Dots.

CCMC331 – More Merry Messages

Wow…only a few more days until Christmas! I hope you have everything under control! My son and daughter-in-law come in tomorrow night, so looking forward to seeing them!

Another fun sketch challenge awaits you over on Create with Connie and Mary. We know it is a busy time of the year, but we hope you take a minute or two to play along! The sketch is a simple one!

You can see it is drawn more square, but I like rectangle cards the most because they are easier to mail, so I switched mine out to a regular sized card. And, I used one of the Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags to make my card even more SIMPLE to make!

Here are the details:

I cut Whisper White to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half to make the base card.
I added a 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Cherry Cobbler print from Snow Festival Designer Paper along the left side.
I added a 3/8 x 5 1/2 strip of Champagne Glimmer along the seam to make it sparkle.
I used one of the Snow Festival Printed Tags and stamped Season's Greetings in Cherry Cobbler on top (from More Merry Messages).
I inked the "Do Not Open" circle from the same set with Gumball Green, the used a Blender Pen to remove the ink on the flower and added Cherry Cobbler ink instead. I stamped on scrap Whisper White, punched with the 1" Circle Punch and I added a rhinestone jewel in the center.
I layered it on the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punched from Cherry Cobbler cardstock. It is popped up on the front with a Stampin' Dimensional.
Finally I added two more rhinestones in the upper right corner for added bling!
