April Blog Tour: Petal Potpourri

It’s time for the Control Freaks “Tour de Freaks” Blog Hop! This month’s theme is “Time to Celebrate”! We have lots of things coming up to celebrate…graduations, end of the school year, Mother’s Day, and of course birthdays! You’ve probably just come from Debbie Henderson’s blog, weren’t her projects fun?

Well, I love Petal Potpourri and decided to use it for my projects this month! I made a little favor box and card to match! Here’s the card:

And here is the little favor box made with the Party Pennants Die. I promised the tutorial…here you go:

Petal Potpourri Favor Box Tutorial

Aren’t they SOOOO cute? Love the colors and I’m sad that Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding will be retired soon. The background is stamped tone-on-tone with Crisp Cantaloupe Ink and the outline flower. The Calypso Coral Flower is set off against the Garden Green Flower Medallion punched piece and Gold Soiree Designer Specialty Paper! The center is Pistachio Pudding punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, then the circle stamped with Gold Metallic Ink. Add a little 1/8″ Gold Ribbon for the finishing touch on the card and cello bag holding the candy! The beautiful script greeting is from Stampin’ Up!’s Lovely Amazing You stamp set!

OK…next stop is Justin Krieger and his fabulous projects, then continue around on the tour!

CCMC347 Your Perfect Day

A fun sketch today over on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Some clever ideas done by the Challenge Team! Go check them out!

And here is my interpretation!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Calypso Coral cardstock, folded in half.
The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.
On top is another layer of Gold Soiree Designer Paper cut 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.
Across the front is a 1 x 4 1/4 piece of the scalloped border in Gold Soiree DSP, that I cut along the edge by hand to follow the scallop line.
On the 2 1/2 Circle of Whisper White, the wreath from Your Perfect Day was stamped with Pistachio Pudding Ink and the small flowers were stamped with Calypso Coral and cut out. (Shoot…just noticed that I forgot to add the PEARLS in the centers! Oh well…imagine they are there! lol!)
In the center, For the Two of You from Your Perfect Day was added with Tuxedo Black Ink.

Pretty simple card, but I like those for weddings or anniversaries cause I’m always making them at the last minute! lol! It’s Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary weekly challenge…it’s a sketch this week…and a really FUN one! Grab your stamps and play along!

I love that this greeting set, Stampin’ Up!’s Something to Say, also has a couple little stamp images. In particular I love the star and flower! I let the Gold Soiree Designer Paper do all the “talking” again on this card, with a sprinkling of little flowers!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Pistachio Pudding folded in half.
I cut a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 piece of Gold Soiree Designer Paper in the floral pattern and layered on a 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 piece of Garden Green cardstock.
Along the side, I punched a 1/2″ strip of Calypso Coral with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch.
I used the Banner Framelit to cut the Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.
I stamped the greeting with Garden Green on Whisper White and punched with the Decorative Label punch then popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front.
Next I stamped the little flower in Something to Say with Garden Green Ink on Pistachio Pudding and Calypso Coral Ink on Calypso Coral cardstock and punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch.
Finally, I added the tiny pearls to the center of the flowers!

Beautiful Bunch Again!

OK…yes, I admit it…I’m slightly obsessed with Beautiful Bunch right now. I honestly did not think I would like it as much as I do! It’s easy because it has the coordinating punch. And, quite simply, it makes beautiful cards so easy to make! And, this time I only used a single bloom instead of the double that I’ve been doing. I also matched it with the GORGEOUS, YUMMY Gold Soiree Designer Paper. I finally cut into it! I love the silky feel to the paper and the shimmery gold in it!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Pistachio Pudding and I rounded the corners on the bottom.
I cut a 3 x 6 piece of Gold Soiree Designer Paper, then placed it at an angle going across the top of the card and snipped off the excess.
I added a 1/4 x 5 piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock across the seam, and trimmed off the excess.
Let’s Celebrate from Sumthin’ Sumthin’ was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on a diagonal.
I stamped the Beautiful Bunch flower with Calypso Coral Ink on Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and punched with the Fun Flower Punch. I stamped it again with Mossy Meadow Ink on Pistachio Pudding cardstock and punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.
I added a little rhinestone in the center for a little bling!

It’s a WOW for me! Although the design is very CAS, the Gold Soiree shimmers in the background and the flower pops! I love it!
