CS207 – Fright Night

Our Creatively Simple theme this month is “Animals”! I really don’t have a lot of animal stamps, so I’ve been scrounging around looking at things I could use! The Spooky Sweet Designer Paper came to my rescue again!

FRIGHT NIGHT

These animal die cuts in the Spooky Sweet DSP are so cute. I couldn’t resist using this hippo mummy! I wish we had a stamp like him!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Spooky Sweet DSP was added to the background.
The striped label image from Fright Night was stamped with Timid Tiger Ink on Timid Tiger cardstock and then cut with the larger label die from Fright Night Dies. It was adhered to the front.
The hippo and candy corn were punched from the Spooky Sweet Sticker Sheet and added to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two spider webs were cut from Basic Black cardstock and tucked under the label.
Trick or Treat was stamped with Memento Black Ink and hand-cut to separate the words, then added to the label with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Boo was cut with the Dies from Basic Black cardstock and added to the DSP in the upper left corner.
A trio of white Shimmer Star Foam Stickers were added to the spider webs.

CSF882 – Fright Night

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge! We have a color challenge for you to try this week!

FRIGHT NIGHT

I knew two of these colors were in the Spooky Sweet DSP, so decided on a Halloween card! I love this label image with all the word art, so I created a watercolor background to stamp it on! And this cute flamingo just BEGGED to be cut out of the DSP!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Petunia Pop cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Gray cardstock was added on top.
The large label in Fright Night Dies was cut from the Timid Tiger print Spooky Sweet DSP and added to the front on an angle.
I made the background by coloring on a large stamping block with Coastal Cabana, Petunia Pop, and Timid Tiger Stampin’ Write Markers and then spritzing the block with water. It was pressed onto a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White cardstock that was also lightly spritzed with water. Let dry.
The word art image was stamped with Memento Black Ink on the water colored background piece and added to the front on the opposite angle.
Two spider webs were cut with the Dies from Basic Black cardstock and tucked under the label on each side.
The spider was cut from Petunia Pop cardstock with the Die and added to the top spider web with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
The flamingo was cut from the Spooky Sweet cardstock and added next to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of black Shimmer Star Foam Stickers were added to the background.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Halloween Magic

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. We will be sharing a little Halloween Magic this week!

CAKE CELEBRATIONS

I thought it would be fun to create a Halloween card from a non-Halloween stamp set! Cake Celebrations is one of the new Online Exclusives that is available for demos to preorder this month (customers beginning Nov. 2!) Can you tell what I used for the little spider webs? It is an image in the stamp set!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of purple polka-dot Halloween Spells DSP was added on top.
The 1 x 4 black and white stripe from Halloween Spells DSP was colored with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends and added to the bottom of the DSP.
The 2-1/4 x 3-3/4 Everyday Details Die was cut from Basic White cardstock and layered on a 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Basic Black cardstock. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The two cake stand pieces were cut from Smoky Slate cardstock with the Cake Celebrations Dies and adhered together. The cakes were cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the drips and frosting from Basic Black cardstock.
The Pumpkin Pie cakes were stamped with the larger Sparkle image in Cake Celebrations with Memento Black Ink and then the Basic Black Marker used to create the loops on the spider webs.
The finished cakes were added to the cake stand on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
One of the frosting bands was used for the signpost coming out of the top of the cake.
Boo from Playful Ghosts stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Pumpkin Pie cardstock and added to the sign.
The Cake Celebrations trio of flowers were stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink and the leaves with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock then cut with the Dies and added to the cake with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The “bat” in the corner is the holly die from Reindeer Fun Dies cut from Basic Black cardstock and tucked under the corner.
A trio of orange Adhesive Backed Dappled Dots were added to the center of the flowers.

Potions & Spells

I made this card for a challenge and the decided to use something else…so here is a bonus card this week! Happy Halloween!

POTIONS & SPELLS

I love the ooze and bubbles cut from green Glimmer Paper on this card! So sparkly and fun!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Halloween Spells Designer Paper was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock, then added to the front.
The cauldron from Spells & Potions stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic Gray cardstock and cut with the Die. I temporarily added it to the front where I wanted it, then stamped the bubbles with Smoky Slate Ink above the cauldron rim. After those were stamped, I added the cauldron to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Several shapes of bubbles and the ooze were cut from the bright green Festive Glimmer Paper and added to the cauldron and above.
The broom handle was cut from Basic Black with the Die and trimmed to fit inside the cauldron.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Pumpkin Pie cardstock and cut with the stack of books Die. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Translucent Adhesive Backed Dots were added for the tiny bubbles in the cauldron.
Some green/white 2022-24 In Color Baker’s Twine (Clearance Rack) was tied in a bow and added to the broom handle.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Pop up surprise

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. It’s a new month and we will be doing fun-folds this month! This week’s challenge is Pop-up Surprise…something that has a pop-up on the inside!

PLAYFUL GHOSTS

I just got this Playful Ghosts on my last order. It really is a cute Halloween set! I would have LOVED some dies to go with it…with a few extras! Oh well! It worked SO well for today’s pop-up surprise card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 2-1/8″ from each end to form the gatefold card.
Two 2 x 5-3/8″ pieces of Flowering Zinnias DSP were added to the front panels.
I scored the 4 x 8 piece of Flowering Zinnias DSP at 2, 4 and 6. Then scored diagonally on each end to form an X from the center to each of the ends.

The straight vertical lines were Mountain folded and the X’s were Valley folded, then folded together to create the pop-up mechanism as shown above.
A 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock was added to the center diamond.
The 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the pumpkin ghost and colored with Pumpkin Pie Combo, Daffodil Delight Combo, Light Lemon Lime Twist, Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. It was added to the Pumpkin Pie piece.
I stamped Boo with Memento Black Ink on 3/8 x 1-1/4 strip of Gorgeous Grape cardstock and cut a flag end and then added to the ghost.
The two side triangles were adhered to the inside of the base Pumpkin Pie card approx. 1/4″ from the edge on each side panel. This creates the pop-up when the card is opened!
A couple bats were stamped with Memento Black Ink at the top.
The 1 x 11 Pumpkin Pie cardstock belly band was wrapped around the closed card and adhered.
I cut the second from smallest Nested Essential Die shape from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the smallest from Basic White cardstock and adhered together.
The Happy Halloween greeting was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink towards the right.
The witch ghost and pumpkins were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with Light Basic Black, Highland Heather Combo, Pumpkin Pie Combo, Light Lemon Lime Twist, Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends, then hand-cut and added to the Nested Essentials piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It was adhered to the belly band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Purple Fine Shimmer Gems were added to the Nested Essentials label.
Some bats were stamped on the front DSP panels with Memento Black Ink.

Saturday Blog Hop – Glitzy Halloween

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Glitzy Halloween”…lots of shimmer and shine for this haunting Halloween season!

PICK OF THE PATCH with BAG OF BONES

I combined two sets for today’s glitzy card! The Silver Metallic Paper and More Dazzled Glitter Paper, plus Sparkle Gems really make it pop!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pebbled Path cardstock was embossed with the Basics Crosshatch Embossing Folder (Online Exclusive) and added to the front.
The fence from Bag of Bones Dies was cut twice from Basic Black cardstock and adhered to the front along the bottom.
The tombstone was cut from Silver Metallic Paper and from Basic White cardstock. The inside of the Basic White tomb was hand-cut and stamped with the greeting in Memento Black. It was sponged with Pebbled Path Ink around the edges, then adhered to the Silver Metallic Paper tomb. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The moon was punched with the 1-1/2 Circle Punch (Online Exclusive) from More Dazzled Gold Paper and adhered to the front.
The bats were cut with the Bag of Bones dies from Basic Black cardstock and added to the moon and background.
The pumpkins from Pick of the Patch stamp set were stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink on Basic White and punched/cut then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stem and vine were stamped with Copper Clay Ink and punched/cut and added to the pumpkins.
A trio of Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Casing Melissa Davies 2023

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. For the next several weeks we will be “Casing the Designer”. Each week we have picked a designer and will select a card she designed. We will use the Colors and Layout of her design and recreate our version using stamps/bundles from the September-December Mini Catalog!

This week we are “Casing Melissa Davies”! Here’s her Halloween card that I chose to case.

BAG OF BONES

And here’s how I updated her card using the new Bag of Bones Bundle! And I was actually inspired to do the split background from another Christmas card she made, too! Since my skeleton was white embossed on black and wouldn’t show up on black DSP, I used the three colors of candy corn for my background instead. I also reversed the focal image placement so it made sense for my skeleton.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of polka dot Brights 6×6 DSP was added to the background.
1-3/4 x 4 piece of Basic White, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight were laid together, then cut with the Scallop Contour Die, then assembled on the DSP.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on the Pumpkin Pie layer.
The skeleton from Bag of Bones was stamped with Whie Craft Ink on Basic Black cardstock, then embossed with White Embossing Powder and cut with the Bag of Bones Die, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The hat and boots were cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and added to the skeleton.
The bats were stamped with Memento Black Ink in the upper right corner.
A trio of black Sparkle Gems were added to the background.

This card just makes me SMILE! I’m going to mail it off to my oldest grandkid for Halloween…he’s a big fan of country music! CCM Saturday Blog Hop – Halloween words

This week’s CCM Saturday Blog Hop theme is focusing on “Halloween words/alphabet/greetings”. This challenge is a little thought provoking, so I’m anxious to see what our Design Team does with it. The Alphabest Stamp Set with coordinating Best Label Punch makes it easy to spell out your own words! I always love EEK! on my Halloween cards, so made it on here.

ALPHABEST with ASPEN TREE DIES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 panel of Basic White cardstock was cut with the Aspen Tree Die and adhered to the base card.
EEK! letters were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock and punched with the Best Label Punch, then adhered to the bottom with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Clear Rhinestone Jewels were colored with the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, then added as eyes in the background of the trees.
Another Clear Rhinestone Jewel was added to the dot in the exclamation point.
The bats were cut from Basic Gray cardstock with the Scary Silhouette Dies and added to the top right corner.
