SUOC170 Dragonfly Dreams

The theme this week on SUO Challenges is Things That Fly! Wide open interpretation on this one! I decide to use Dragonfly Dreams Bundle…I hadn’t used the little bee yet! Because I liked how this turned, this is also a sneak peek of one of the cards we will be doing in my Dragonfly Dreams Bundle class tonight!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Delightful Dijon, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Whisper White was stamped with the dotted image int he bottom left and top right corners with Delightful Dijon Ink several times. It was added to the front right side of the base card.
The 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Urban Development DSP was added to the left side.
The largest Stitched Shape Oval was cut from Delightful Dijon cardstock and embossed with the Hexagon Embossing Folder. The insides were sponged with Delightful Dijon ink to give them some definition.
Linen Thread was wrapped around and tied in a bow, then the oval was added to the front of the base card.
The bee was stamped with Memento Black Ink, and cut with the Bee thinlit in Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies.
A 1/2″ Punched Crushed Curry Circle was added behind the body and a quarter of another 1/2″ under the head, then layered on Whisper White cardstock and hand cut around the outside. It was added to the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped along the bottom with Memento Black Ink!

Saturday Blog Hop – Going Green

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Blog Hop! This week’s theme is Going Green…in honor of St. Patrick’s Day next week. But, the design team could use anything…as long as the predominant colors on the card were green. I don’t send out many St. Patrick’s Day cards, but thought I’d send out some to my grandkids. Of course, when I mailed my Valentine’s Day cards last month all at the SAME time from the SAME place in town, they got them on 3 different days! Crazy! I’d better get these out early!

Here are the details. I used two greens…Emerald Envy and Cucumber Crush for my Irish theme.

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Emerald Envy cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake is on top.
A 2 x 4 piece of Affectionately Yours Designer Paper is adhered at the bottom, then a 1/4 x 4 strip of Emerald Envy cardstock placed across the top to hide the seam.
The large bear from Bear Hugs stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Whisper White cardstock, then watercolored with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad and AquaPainter. The ground was watercolored with Emerald Envy Ink.
It was layered on a 3 x 3-3/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The hat and bow were stamped with Memento Black on Cucumber Crush, then cut with the Bear Hugs Framelits and added to the bear.
The greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Emerald Envy cardstock. The banner from Thoughtful Banners was stamped with Emerald Envy Ink around the greeting. It was punched with the Banner Punch. It was added over the bear with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two stars from the Metallic Enamel Shapes was added to the sides of the banner.

CCMC448 Nailed It

Love the color combination this week over on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenges! It set off a masculine vibe for me, so I picked up the Nailed It bundle to use!

Here’s my card…love the softer colors with this set!

Base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party is embossed with the Hexagons Embossing Folder and sponged around the edges with Chocolate Chip Ink, then a circle cut out with the Layered Circles Framelits.
A 3 x 3 piece of A Little Foxy Designer Paper was placed behind the circle opening and adhered.
The tools and greeting hexagon shape were stamped with Memento Black Ink, then watercolored with an AquaPainter and Chocolate Chip, Pool Party and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Markers. They were cut with the Build It Framelits, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Hexagon greeting was cut and sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The screw and washer were cut from Silver Metallic Cardstock and added to the front.

Perfect Mix for Easter

I love being able to use stamps for something other than their “original” purpose. You might think that Perfect Mix stamp set is all about baking…and you’d be right! However, I think this makes a sweet Easter card, too! Both my older grandchildren love to help with baking…so this would be a great card for either one of them! I chose the bright colors in the Festive Birthday Designer Paper for my color inspiration.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Melon Mambo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White.
The 3/4 x 5-1/2 striped pattern in Festive Birthday DSP was placed across the front.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black below it.
Two Layering Circles were cut from the Festive Birthday DSP. The smaller was added behind the DSP strip and the larger added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The carton of eggs was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White, colored with Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Emerald Envy and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers and an AquaPainter. It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A few Emerald Envy Enamel Shapes were added for a little bling.

LOVE the colorful eggs! They are just SO fun! Again, used this set in a little different way!

Dragonfly Dreams Flower

I just thought the wings of the dragonfly would make a terrific flower if placed going in a circle! What do you think?

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 So Saffron cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Flirty Flamingo.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White was stamped with the Dragonfly Dreams wings going around in a circle, stamping off to fill in the blank spots.
In the center are two of the star flowers from the Blossom Builder Punch, punched from Flirty Flamingo cardstock. A Perfect White Accents is placed in the center. They are added to the stamped flower with Mini Glue Dots.
In the corners, the spotted image from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink.
The greeting from the same set was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Sympathy or Encouragement

Our theme for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is “Sympathy or Encouragement cards”! I know I make a lot of these types of cards for friends and family, but I’m anxious to see what our Design Team came up with for this theme! I went with a clean and simple look for my card.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White cards, the Avant Garden flower was stamped twice with Flirty Flamingo Ink, the leaves with Old Olive Ink, and the centers with Memento Black Ink.
With Sympathy from Rose Wonder stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
On the Whisper White layer, two corners were rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder.
It was layered on a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock that also had the two corners rounded.
A trio of Rhinestones were added for a little bling.

Inside:

Another flower was stamped on the inside, the same as the outside.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink.

CCMC447 Everyday Hero

How do you like my new Spring look? I think it is adorable…love that bunny! Are you ready for a new Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge? Here we go…it’s a fun sketch challenge! Although it is a square shape, I decided to use it as a regular rectangle shape on my card.

I also took a little creative license with the placement of the greeting since I wanted to use the city scape image along the bottom of my accent piece.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mint Macaron cardstock is embossed with the Sparkle Folder.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Carried Away Designer Paper was placed down the left side.
A 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock was brushed with a light wash of Pool Party ink, then stamped with the city scape along the bottom in Night of Navy Ink and colored with So Saffron Marker in the windows.
The head, body and cape of the Girl Superhero were stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink and watercolored with Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Blushing Bride and Chocolate Chip Markers and the AquaPainter. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Super Hero was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on Peekaboo Peach cardstock, then punched with the Classic Label Punch and added to the top left side.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Color It

Our theme for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is “Color It”! Oh, I’m sure the Design Team will have LOTS of fun with the theme this week! Can’t wait to see what they have done! I used Mediterranean Moments for my card…this scene reminds me SO much of the narrow streets in Europe. So thankful for Stampin’ Up! to provide such awesome incentive trips…the Mediterranean Cruise was a trip of a lifetime for us!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Mint Macaron cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Succulent Garden Designer Paper in the Tip Top Taupe grid pattern was added to the Bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Tip Top Taupe cardstock.
On a 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Whisper White, the Mediterranean Moments image was stamped with Black Stazon Ink, the watercolored with an AquaPainter and Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Sweet Sugarplum, and Tip Top Taupe Stampin’ Write Markers. It was placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon was adhered to the back, then a small piece tied on the front for the bow.
The smallest Stitched Shapes Circle was stamped with the birthday greeting from Circle Of Spring in Black Stazon Ink, then added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
