CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – I Believe I Can Fly

This month Create with Connie and Mary is featuring “music in the 90s” themes!!! One of the songs I remember hearing a LOT was “I Believe I Can Fly”…can you hear it in your mind now? So, our Design Team was challenge with cards that have birds, bugs or other flying elements! So…I went with BUTTERFLIES! Did you know there is a butterfly in the Pop of Petals stamp set?

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Brights Designer Paper was added to the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
The butterflies were stamped with Memento Black three times across the front of the 2 x 5-1/4 strip of Whisper White, then the “flowers” were stamped with Pineapple Punch, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green, then punched with the Four Petal Punch and adhere on top of the butterflies.
A string of 4 small pearls were placed down the center of the butterflies for their bodies.
A 1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic Black Cardstock was adhered under the Whisper White cardstock, then added to the front of the card.
It’s Your Day from Happy Birthday Gorgeous was stamped with Memento Black Ink across the top right corner.

CCMC519 – Pop of Petals

Another Thursday has rolled around and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! LOVE this color combination this week! They are exactly the colors in the Tropical Escape Designer Paper Pack.

I decided NOT to use Tropical Chic, however, and went with my go-to set, Pop of Petals! I hadn’t used the sweet little butterfly in this set yet. Don’t you LOVE those Stitched Labels Framelits? They look great stacked together!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
At the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Granny Apple Green cardstock is a 2 x 4 piece of Tropical Escape Designer Paper.
Some Granny Apple Green 1/2 Textured Ribbon is wrapped around and secured in the back.
The larger Stitched Label Framelit was cut from Whisper White cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Happy Birthday from Perennial Birthday was stamped with Memento Black on Blushing Bride cardstock, then cut with the long Stitched Label Framelit and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The butterfly was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then colored with the Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride and Shaded Spruce Markers. it was hand-cut so I could keep the antennae on the butterfly.
A Petal Pink Rhinestone Gem is added to the body of the butterfly for a little sparkle!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New DSP

Today’s Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Favorite New Designer Paper”! Again…how can I only choose ONE out of all the fabulous new designer papers in the catalog! But, I’ll share one that is kind of a sleeper…Garden Impressions…it has great floral designs, but the flip sides are really nice subtle prints in bright colors! I had a bunch of 2×2 DSP squares left over from another project, so they were PERFECT to use on this card along with my Pop of Petals stamp set! LOVE it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Mango Melody cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Mango Melody cardstock was added towards the right side.
Two of the 2″ squares from Garden Impressions DSP were added to the Whisper White along the right side. A different pattern was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals staggering the other ones.
Two of the Pop of Petal flowers were stamped with Mango Melody Ink on Whisper White and punched with the Four Petal Punch and adhered together. A Gold Faceted Gem is in the center.
Another flower was stamped with Shaded Spruce and punched, then cut in half for the “leaves”. The flower was added to the DSP square with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the petals slightly curled.
Sending Prayers from Itty Bitty Greetings was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink on Whisper White and punched with the Classic Label punch, then added on front tucked under the flower.

IM25 – Pop of Petals

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Isn’t this a fun looking coin purse that we are using for our inspiration this week?

And yep! I’m using Pop of Petals again! I don’t think it has been off my desk for long…love that it has a punch to match. This turned out to be a very different color combination, but I like it! And…LOVE that Tuffed Embossing Folder!!! Wow!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Balmy Blue was embossed at the top portion with the Tuffed Embossing Folder, and then a added on top.
A 2 x 4 piece of Subtles Designer Paper was added at the bottom of the embossed piece, then a 3/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White placed across the top.
The Whisper White strip was stamped with Happy Anniversary in Cajun Craze Ink towards the right side.
Two flowers from Pop of Petals were stamped with Cajun Craze on Pumpkin Pie cardstock, then punched. The petals were washed with some Wink of Stella on the petals. The petals were curled and placed on the card with Mini Glue Dots.
The leaves were stamped with Cajun Craze Ink on Cajun Craze cardstock and hand cut out, then tucked under the flowers.
The smaller flowers were stamped with Cajun Craze Ink on Whisper White, then washed with the Wink of Stella to move the ink a little to color them. They were added to the front with Mini Glue Dots.
The Gentlemen buttons were added to the center of the flowers, the larger one tied with some Linen Thread in a bow.

Today’s Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Favorite New Bundle”! Sorry, I’m TOO fickle to just chose ONE favorite in the new catalog! There are BUNCHES of them that I really like! So, I went with one that was already out on my desk! How’s that for choosing favorites!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 2 x 4-3/4 piece of Lovely Lipstick In Colors Designer Paper was added to the left side, then a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of the Pineapple Punch In Colors DSP over top of it.
The largest Stitched Shape Square was cut from Whisper White cardstock and stamped with the Lots of Happy greeting in Memento Black Ink in the upper left corner.
The flower from Pop of Petals was stamped twice with Lovely Lipstick and once with Pineapple Punch Ink on Whisper White, then punched with the Four Petal Flower Punch (that is part of the bundle with the stamp set!)
Another of the flower was stamped twice with Call Me Clover Ink on Whisper White and punched also for the leaves.
The flowers were assembled on the front and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The leaves were cut apart and tucked under the flowers.
To finish, some of the Black Faceted Dots were added in the center of the flowers for a little pop!

IM24 Pop of Petals

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Two weeks in a row we went with the gray/white/black tones. However, this week I went with a pop of yellow that is hinted at in the photo! I love Smoky Slate and So Saffron colors together…so classy!

New stamp set in the house!!! Pop of Petals…love that it has a punch to match. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the Framelit/Thinlits, but sometimes it is nice to have a punch and just go to town punching! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White was added on top.
On the 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Smoky Slate, a 1 x 4-3/4 piece of Garden Impressions Designer Paper was adhered towards the bottom.
Two flowers from Pop of Petals were stamped with Basic Gray on Whisper White, then punched with the Four Petal Flower Punch. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The centers were stamped with Basic Gray on So Saffron cardstock and hand-cut.
Another flower was stamped with Basic Gray Ink on Smoky Slate cardstock, then punched with the Four Petal Flower Punch, cut apart and used as leaves and tucked under the flowers.
The greeting was stamped with Basic Gray on a 3/4 x 2 piece of So Saffron and cut at an angle on the left side. A 1/4 x 2 coordinating piece of Basic Gray cardstock was cut the same. It was added to the front, then the So Saffron piece added with Stampin’ Dimensionals on top.
To finish, a couple Rhinestone Jewels were placed in the center of the flowers.
