It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.   It’s a fun sketch challenge this week.

FLIGHT & AIRY DESIGNER PAPER

Yep…I love the Flight & Airy DSP and I’m using it again!  The watercolor bird images are just SO pretty!  I’ve reserved one sheet for just cutting out images…but I know I’ll be ordering more packages as Sale-A-Bration freebies!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Boho Blue cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is added on front.
  • Three 1 x 3-1/2 strips of Flight & Airy DSP were added to the background.
  • A 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock was colored with Boho Blue Ink in the center and along the edges using a Blending Brush and added to the front.
  • The bird, branch and flowers were cut from the Flight & Airy DSP and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2 piece of Boho Blue cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.
  • Some Wink of Stella was added to the flowers and the back of the bird for some shimmery goodness!

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “NEW” cards…let’s use some of the new products in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog and SAB Catalog on our cards!

DETAILED DOGWOOD

This Detailed Dogwood stamp set is one of the Level 2 Sale-A-Bration selections and I wanted to make a card without the main dogwood branch image.  I also ended up using two other Sale-A-Bration Level 1 items…the greeting in Heartfelt Hellos and the Opaque Faceted Gems on this card!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic Whie cardstock was stamped with the Detailed Dogwood branch image along the bottom in Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green several times overlapping each other.
  • Hello from Heartfelt Hellos was stamped with Memento Black Ink above the branches.
  • Two dragonflies from Detailed Dogwood stamp set were stamped with Azure Afternoon Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added to the card.
  • The coral Opaque Faceted Gems were added to the branches along the bottom and the copper Opaque Faceted Gems were added to the bodies of the dragonflies.

CCMC800 – Detailed Dogwood

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.   It’s a pretty color challenge this week.

DETAILED DOGWOOD

I’m using this Sale-A-Bration stamp set again!  I’ve had it on my desk and I keep coming up with different ideas using it!  These flowers can be punched with the Annual Catalog Petal Park Builder Punch!  Made it easy to create this bouquet!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Masterfully Made Designer Paper was torn diagonally and then adhered to a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Petal Pink cardstock.
  • Some Linen Thread was wrapped around the Petal Pink c/s and tied in a bow along the DSP.
  • The Deckle Circle was cut with the Die from Basic White cardstock and stamped the leaf branches three times with Pretty Peacock Ink.
  • The flowers were stamped four times with Petal Pink Ink and four times with Moody Mauve Ink on Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Petal Park Builder Punch and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The small Petal Pink and Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems were added to the centers of the flowers.
  • For You from Heartfelt Hexagon was stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink on a 1/2 x 2 piece of Basic White, cut a flag end, and added to the bouquet.

Saturday Blog Hop – Say Hello to SAB

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Saying Hello to SAB”.  It’s that favorite Stampin’ Up! time of year!  FREE products with purchase!

DETAILED DOGWOOD

This stamp set is a Level 2 SAB selection.  My mom loves dogwood trees, so I grabbed it first thing on my order so I could make a few cards for her.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder, then cut into five 1 x 5 strips and adhered to the front of the base card for a shiplap look.
  • The dogwood branch was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Soft Sea Foam Combo, Light Lemon Lime Twist, Bubble Bath Combo, Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Very Best Occasions was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink and cut with the Nested Essentials Die.
  • Some Linen Thread was wrapped into circles and adhered behind the greeting, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added in the background.

IM313 – Watercolor Melon

Happy New Year to everyone!!!  Did you make any resolutions this year?  I know I have a couple challenging ones to fulfill this year! Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s challenge is some fun watermelon pottery pieces!

 

WATERCOLOR MELONs

Of course…I had to use the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Watercolor Melons, for today’s challenge!  I went with bright Poppy Parade and Parakeet Party colors for mine!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • A polka dot Poppy Parade 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 Brights 6×6 DSP was wrapped with tied Black & White Gingham Ribbon and added to the top left corner.
    • The 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 square of Basic Black was adhered behind the 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock in the upper left corner.  The greeting from Ice Cream Swirl is stamped with Poppy Parade Ink in the upper right corner.
    • The full watermelon image was stamped with Garden Green Ink on Parakeet Party cardstock and punched with the Modern Oval Punch.
    • The watermelon slice was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink and Garden Green rind on Basic White cardstock, the rind colored with Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends for a little more color.  The seeds were stamped with Memento Black Ink.  It was hand-cut.
    • The leaf was stamped with Garden Green ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut.
    • All were assembled on the front of the Basic White panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A trio of black Sparkle Dots were added to the background.

March 2018 Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

I’m happy this month to be able to play along again this month with the Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop! This blog hop is for those of us who have earned the Stampin’ Up! Alaska Incentive trip in July!  We are repeating the theme of Occasions and Sale-A-Bration products…only a couple more weeks to earn the Sale-a-Bration items FREE!  You are at my blog, Connie Babbert, and you’ll continue around the blog hop by clicking on the link under my name in the bottom list. I’ve used a couple Sale-A-Bration items on my cards…Heartfelt Blooms stamp set and the awesome Springtime Foils Designer Paper.  The Calypso Coral card also has the SAB Shimmer Ribbon on it!  I’m going to be SO sad when I can’t use these products regularly anymore…they are just gorgeous.  The Heartfelt Blooms stamp set really makes stamping SO easy!  The image does all the work for shading.

It is hard to tell from the photos, but the polka dots is a Copper Foil an the stripe is a Silver Foil.  I thought they complemented the colors really well!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The Base is either 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Berry Burst or Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Springtime Foils Designer Paper (a FREE Sale-A-Bration Level 1 selection!)
  • The FREE Shimmer Ribbon in Calypso Coral (or Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbonn from the Occasions catalog), was wrapped around the DSP and tied in a bow.
  • The Heartfelt Blooms image was stamped with Berry Burst or Calypso Coral Ink on a 3 x 3-3/4 piece of Whisper White and layered on a 3-1/4 x 4 piece of Basic Gray or Old Olive cardstock.
  • The layers were placed at angles on the front of the card over the ribbon.
  • Thank you from Heartfelt Blooms was stamped on a 5/8 x 2 piece of Whisper White, cut with a flag end and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Isn’t it fun how different each of them look with the different colors?

IM4 – Party Pandas

Today’s Inspiration Monday photo could have led me in several different directions, but for some reason a black color scheme stood out to me.  And that led me to finally ink up my Party Pandas stamp set…one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration selections!  It has been a popular one!

 

Here’s my card.  I supposed I should have used pink…but really wanted more of a traditional red Valentine for my grandson!  (And, honestly, the inspiration photo looked red on my phone screen at first glance!)

 

Stampin’ details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Red is embossed with the Sequins Embossing Folder.  On top a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Petal Passion Designer Paper was adhered with a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Red Glimmer Paper across it.
  • The panda was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Stitched Oval Shape.
  • Love You was stamped with Real Red Ink and the oval was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Red Glimmer Heart was cut from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits and adhered over the balloon image.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – It’s a Sale-A-Bration

Well, it has been a LONG process, but finally think my dad will get to go home today!  His quadruple by-pass surgery was December 6th…it has been a whole month of slow progress, setbacks and rehab.  He still has a lot of strength to gain back and will need home health nurses and PT/OT people to come to the house for a little while before he starts his formal cardiac rehab.  But…we are very thankful!  Thank you for your prayers!

It is Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is “It’s A Sale-A-Bration and  Design Team could choose to use what product to use!

 

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Peekaboo Peach cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, I drew a pencil line across towards the top.  I lined up the flower image and stamped three times across the top of the line with Peekaboo Peach Ink and twice under the line (flower upside down).
  • The centers were stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz Ink.
  • The sprinkles were stamped off with Tip Top Taupe Ink.
  • The 1/8″ Whisper White Ribbon in the Occasions Catalog was placed across the front down the pencil line and adhered in the back.
  • The greeting from Avant Garden was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the second from smallest Layering Oval Framelit, then adhered to the second from smallest scallop Layering Oval of Basic Black cardstock.  They are popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
