Not really sure if this actually came out like it was pictured in my head. I actually wanted it to look like a framed picture on a wall. What do you think? Did I succeed? lol! Oh well, I like it anyway! And I LOVE the Hardwood stamp! I can’t believe I waited SO long to get it! Thankfully it is in the new catalog, too! WOOHOO!

I originally thought this might be one of the Mother’s Day cards that I need…I may end up switching out the greeting. But for now, it is what it is! Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Blushing Bride (I haven’t used that in AGES!), folded in half.
I stamped the Hardwood stamp with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.
Before I placed the Hardwood layer, I pierced the hole for the Vintage Brad and wrapped the White Bakers Twine around it.
I stamped the So Very Grateful image with Black Stazon on Whisper White and cut it with the Oval Framelits.
Then I cut the next larger oval from Pistachio Pudding and used the Piercing Tool around the edge. I placed both on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped Thank You with Black Stazon on Blushing Bride and punched with the Large Oval Punch.
Finally, I added Pearls in the center of the flowers.

Week 3 So Very Grateful favor

This little origami favor has been around the block a few times, but I thought I'd update it for my Create with Connie and Mary Card Create-tions Week 3 favor using Stampin' Up!'s So Very Grateful stamp set! It was my featured set this week and we share the coordinating favor with everyone on Saturdays as a bonus! Yes! Our very first DESIGN TEAM BLOG HOP over at Create with Connie and Mary to celebrate PREVIEW WEEK! We're getting ready to start our CARDS ONLY Edition, Card Create-tions 2014, featuring stamp sets and products from the main and Occasions catalogs! You've probably just come from designer, Deb Currier's blog…love her classy style!

Here's my card using So Very Grateful, one of the sets I'm featuring during this session of Card Create-tions 2014! I love how easy this image is to watercolor! And, it looks so great combined with Gingham Garden Designer Paper. I used three different patterns on here…a great way to use up those leftover narrow strips!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Whisper White folded in half to make the base card.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Daffodil Delight across the front.
On the 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 layer of checked Gingham Garden DSP, I added a 3/4 x 5 1/8" strip of the yellow stripe pattern, then added a 1/2 x 5 1/8" strip of the pink pattern and added them to the front.
I stamped the floral image from So Very Grateful with Black Stazon on Whisper White, then cut with the Oval Framelit. I watercolored with Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush and Island Indigo Stampin' Write Markers. I popped it up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
In the center of the flowers, I added small pearls.
Next I stamped the greeting with Island Indigo on Whisper White and hand-cut it out. I also placed it with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Finally, I thought it needed a little extra bling. I used some Candy Dots on the DSP strip above the greeting!

We have a pretty color combination for you to try this week over on the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. At first I was kind of tentative on how to use them!

But, here is my card using the Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper again. This print had both the Pistachio Pudding and Summer Starfruit colors in it.

Here are the details:

I started with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Whisper White cardstock, folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Pistachio Pudding cardstock on top.
I also added a 4 x 3 1/2 piece of Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper at the top.
Next I used a 1/2 x 4 piece of Summer Starfruit cardstock to hide the seam.
The greeting is from the Hostess set, Simply Sketch (LOVE the greetings in this set!) and I stamped it in the bottom right corner with Black Stazon.
I cut a Starburst Framelit from Basic Black and used it for the background of the So Very Grateful flower.
The flower was stamped with Black Stazon and watercolored with Pistachio Pudding and Summer Starfruit Markers and an AquaPainter. I carefully cut around the image and placed on the Starburst Framelit with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I colored some small Rhinestones with a Black Sharpie and placed them in the center of the flowers.
I added a few more Rhinestones along the background.

SUOC89 So Very Grateful

Today our theme was One Layer Cards (embellishments ok) over on SUO Challenges! Now…you know me and that is a REAL challenge for me! I just don't DO one layer! Comes from being in so many swaps over the years that require more than one layer! lol! But…I thought this turned out pretty good…and even gives the illusion of more than one layer with the scored edges! I also rounded the bottom corners for a more interesting look.

I've been doing more and more watercoloring with markers this way. I'll first watercolor the image, then after it dries, I go back with the marker along the edges. The AquaPainter lightens the watercolored centers and the straight on marker darkens the edges…I love the contrast!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
I scored the edges all around the front of the card at 1/4 and 1/2 to create a double line all around.
I stamped the So Very Grateful flower image with Black Stazon in the lower left corner, then Watercolored with my AquaPainter and Real Red, Crushed Curry, Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive and Gumball Green Markers.
So Sorry is from the So Sorry greeting stamp set and I stamped it in Black Stazon, too.
Finally, I finished the center of the flowers with small Pearls.

Today on Create with Connie and Mary, we have a fun sketch for you to play along this week! I'm amazed at the different looks that I designers came up with using this sketch!

I kept mine pretty simple. I felt like doing a little watercoloring, so used Stampin' Up!'s pretty flower set, So Very Grateful, available in the Occasions Catalog!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Pistachio Pudding cardstock, folded in half.
On top, I layered a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Calypso Coral cardstock.
On the 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White, I stamped the large image with Black Stazon in the upper right corner, and the smaller image in the lower right corner…going by the sketch.
I used So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush Stampin' Write Markers and scribbled on a clear stamp case, then picked up the color with my AquaPainter. This is my favorite way to watercolor!
After it was dry, I went back and outlined everything with the Markers again. I love the contrast!
To finish the card, I used a 1/4 x 4 strip of Strawberry Slush cardstock across the middle.
Then I added flags of Pistachio Pudding cardstock, and Whisper White stamped with Thank You from this same set. I love it when Stampin' Up! includes greetings with their stamp sets!
