CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Cut a Rug

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is “Cut a Rug”. Lots of new Dies available in the new Annual Catalog…we are featuring our favorites this week! You are getting a “two-fer” this week from me…these were the Mother’s Day cards I made using the Darling Details Bundle…I LOVE these eyelet dies! My mom loves corals, and my mother-in-law loves purples! I just switched out the layout a little to make them even more different.

DARLING DETAILS

Stampin’ Details Card 1:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 Basic White was cut with the larger Darling Details eyelet Die.
A 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 piece of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Basics 3D crosshatch folder, then adhered to the back of the eyelet cutout, and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flowers were stamped with Calypso Coral outlines and Petal Pink Ink insides, the leaves with Granny Apple Green outsides/veins and Lemon Lime Twist Ink insides on Basic White cardstock. The centers with Daffodil Delight Ink. They were cut with the Darling Details Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of white Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems were colored with the Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends, then added to the background.

Stampin’ Details Card 2:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Fresh Freesia cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 Basic White was cut with the larger Darling Details eyelet Die.
A 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 piece of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Basics 3D crosshatch folder, then adhered to the back of the eyelet cutout, and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flowers were stamped with Gorgeous Grape outlines and Fresh Freesia Ink insides, the leaves with Granny Apple Green outsides/veins and Lemon Lime Twist Ink insides on Basic White cardstock. The centers with Daffodil Delight Ink. They were cut with the Darling Details Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Darling Details greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock and the end cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of gold Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems were added to the background.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – For the Ladies

It’s Saturday and you know what that means!!! It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Design Team Blog Hop! This week’s theme is For That Special Lady…can be a mom, sister, or special friend! We all need ideas for these wonderful ladies in our lives! I was fortunate to spend last weekend at a stamping retreat to two of my most special friends that live FAR away from me now!

Another wonderful woman in my life is my mother! I thought I’d share my the Mother’s Day card I made for her using Circle of Spring stamp set. Of course, I snuck in TWO of the new In Colors, Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach! I love them combined.

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sweet Sugarplum, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
Along the left side is a strip of Playful Palette Washi Tape in the striped pattern.
The Circle of Spring wreath was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum and Pear Pizzazz Markers. It was cut with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.
My Amazing Mother from Greatest Greetings (made it in the new catalog!) was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a strip of Sweet Sugarplum and cut with a flag end.
Peekaboo Peach cardstock was punched with the Bow Builder punch twice, then assembled into a bow for the front with Mini Glue Dots.
A little sparkle with some random Rhinestones puts on the finishing touch!

I can’t wait to give this to my mom on Sunday! Crazy About You

This is the first time I’ve inked up my set, Crazy About You. I love all the words in it…and the photopolymer set makes it easy to line up the words you want! I thought I’d get a head start on my Mother’s Day cards. I went with a more subtle color scheme on this card!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 So Saffron, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Crumb Cake, the leaves were stamped twice with Mossy Meadow Ink.
The flower was stamped with White Craft Ink on scrap piece of Crumb Cake twice, then one punched with the Flower Medallion Punch and the center one cut out by hand. Then stamped the flower again with So Saffron on Whisper White and cut out just the center. Each of the layers were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Rhinestone jewel was added to the center.
Across the bottom is a 1 x 5 1/4 strip of So Saffron with a 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip of Whisper White punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch under it.
The flower was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Happy Mother’s Day from Crazy About You was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.

I love the look of White Craft Ink on Crumb Cake! Such a different look!

So Very Grateful again

Not really sure if this actually came out like it was pictured in my head. I actually wanted it to look like a framed picture on a wall. What do you think? Did I succeed? lol! Oh well, I like it anyway! And I LOVE the Hardwood stamp! I can’t believe I waited SO long to get it! Thankfully it is in the new catalog, too! WOOHOO!

I originally thought this might be one of the Mother’s Day cards that I need…I may end up switching out the greeting. But for now, it is what it is! Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Blushing Bride (I haven’t used that in AGES!), folded in half.
I stamped the Hardwood stamp with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.
Before I placed the Hardwood layer, I pierced the hole for the Vintage Brad and wrapped the White Bakers Twine around it.
I stamped the So Very Grateful image with Black Stazon on Whisper White and cut it with the Oval Framelits.
Then I cut the next larger oval from Pistachio Pudding and used the Piercing Tool around the edge. I placed both on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped Thank You with Black Stazon on Blushing Bride and punched with the Large Oval Punch.
Finally, I added Pearls in the center of the flowers.

Everything Eleanor Mother

I'm back from Fiji and trying to get back on my time zone! It is proving much harder coming back than it was going there! I keep wanting to stay up until 2:00 AM, waking up at 7:00 AM and then feel like taking a nap in the afternoon because I'm so tired! I hope I can get back to a normal schedule soon! Here's a picture of the morning sunrise on one of the days. We would get up and walk along the beach before it got hot! I picked up a few pretty shells, but never found the sand dollars that some were finding!

For my mother-in-law's card, I pulled out Everything Eleanor…I haven't used it for a while! I paired it with Tea for Two Designer Paper. Hope she likes it! I made this before I left…I haven't touched a stamp in 2 weeks and am having serious withdrawal! NEED to get into my room tomorrow, I want to make a few things for my daughter-in-law's baby shower next weekend.

Here are the details:

5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Crumb Cake, folded in half for base card.
4 x 5 1/4 piece of Whisper White, added a 1 1/2" x 5 1/4 strip of Tea for Two Designer Paper across the top.
I wrapped a length of Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon around the back and adhered.
I stamped the medallion from Everything Eleanor in Crumb Cake, then cut it out. I stamped the Mother greeting from Delightful Dozen in Basic Black on top. It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I stamped the flowers with Basic Black and Calypso Coral on Calypso Coral cardstock, cut them out and added to the front.
I added pearls in the centers of the flowers.
Finally, I stamped the bird in Basic Black on Whisper White, cut him out and placed on the top of the greeting. There is a little pearl in his eye, too!

I think this has a vintage look to it, don't you? To all the mothers out there, Happy Mother's Day!!!
