Saturday Blog Hop – Paper Perfection

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Paper Perfection”…showing off Stampn’ Up!’s wonderful new designer paper!

TRUSTY TOOLBOX DESIGNER PAPER

This DSP is one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration options with purchase in January and February (or while supplies last). I let the DSP do all the work again on my card, except for the stamped greeting! These tool images are so fun to cut out and use. Pro tip: Cut out one entire sheet of the tool images at one time, then you have them on hand to quickly make up your card or project!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Gray Granite cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock was added on top.
The 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Trusty Toolbox ruler DSP (SAB) was added down the center.
Gray Granite cardstock was cut with the Nested Essentials Die and stamped with the Perennial Postage greeting in Memento Black Ink. It was added to the front.
The tools were hand-cut from the Trusty Toolbox DSP and added around the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the label.

CCMC800 – Detailed Dogwood

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It’s a pretty color challenge this week.

DETAILED DOGWOOD

I’m using this Sale-A-Bration stamp set again! I’ve had it on my desk and I keep coming up with different ideas using it! These flowers can be punched with the Annual Catalog Petal Park Builder Punch! Made it easy to create this bouquet!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Masterfully Made Designer Paper was torn diagonally and then adhered to a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Petal Pink cardstock.
Some Linen Thread was wrapped around the Petal Pink c/s and tied in a bow along the DSP.
The Deckle Circle was cut with the Die from Basic White cardstock and stamped the leaf branches three times with Pretty Peacock Ink.
The flowers were stamped four times with Petal Pink Ink and four times with Moody Mauve Ink on Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Petal Park Builder Punch and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The small Petal Pink and Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems were added to the centers of the flowers.
For You from Heartfelt Hexagon was stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink on a 1/2 x 2 piece of Basic White, cut a flag end, and added to the bouquet.

CS123 – Sending Love

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. This month the theme is “NEW” cards…let’s use some of the new products in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog and SAB Catalog on our cards!

SENDING LOVE

This is one of the bundles from the new mini that I just HAD to have! I love the mailbox and love letters! Here’s a simple card made using that bundle!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black was added on top.
The 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the envelope randomly across the top half with Memento Black Ink. The greeting was stamped along the bottom.
A 1-1/4 strip of Bee Mine Designer Paper was added across the front.
The Modern Oval was punched from Poppy Parade cardstock and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The envelope was cut with the Sending Love Dies from Petal Pink cardstock, folded and glued, then added to the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A heart with cut from Poppy Parade cardstock with the Sending Love Die and added as a seal to the envelope.
The Petal Pink epoxy Adhesive Backed small red Hearts & Flowers was added to the cardstock heart. It added just the finishing touch!

IM314 – Planted Paradise

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a pretty potted plant!

PLANTED PARADISE

I’m not sure if the light green things are flowers or leaves, but I chose to focus on those for today’s card!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Parakeet Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of In Color 6×6 DSP was added to the right side of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pebbled Path cardstock, then added to the front.
- The Nested Essentials label was cut with the die from Mossy Meadow cardstock and adhered on front.
- The container was stamped with Pebbled Path Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut then added to the front of the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The small leaf was stamped five times in a circular motion with Parakeet Party Ink on Basic White and hand-cut. Repeat for second one. Add to top of the container with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Three long leaves were stamped with Pebbled Path Ink on Basic White and hand-cut, then added at the top.
- The greeting from Sending Smiles is stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 and the end cut at an angle, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the container.
- Three gold Sparkle Gems were added in the centers and to the bottom of the label.

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Saying Hello to SAB”. It’s that favorite Stampin’ Up! time of year! FREE products with purchase!

DETAILED DOGWOOD

This stamp set is a Level 2 SAB selection. My mom loves dogwood trees, so I grabbed it first thing on my order so I could make a few cards for her.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder, then cut into five 1 x 5 strips and adhered to the front of the base card for a shiplap look.
The dogwood branch was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Soft Sea Foam Combo, Light Lemon Lime Twist, Bubble Bath Combo, Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends. It was cut out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Very Best Occasions was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink and cut with the Nested Essentials Die.
Some Linen Thread was wrapped into circles and adhered behind the greeting, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added in the background.

CCMC799 – Flight & Airy

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a fun sketch for you to try this week!

FLIGHT & AIRY DESIGNER PAPER

I think the Flight & Airy DSP is so pretty with the watercolor images of birds, flowers and branches so I let it do ALL the heavy lifting on this card! Only the greeting is stamped!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Boho Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 strip of Flight & Airy Pecan Pie grid DSP is added across the front towards the top.
Next a 2-3/4 x 4 small bird print in Flight & Airy DSP was added to a 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock on an angle, then added to the front.
The 3/4 x 3-1/4 Fresh Freesia watercolor print in Flight & Airy DSP was added over it.
One of the small birds on a branch and flowers was cut from the DSP and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Linen Thread was wrapped several times in a loop, then added to the tail of the bird.
The greeting from Perennial Postage Stamp Set was stamped with Boho Blue Ink on a 1/2 x 2-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Three Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.

WONDERFUL EXPRESSIONS

This card looks fancy, but other than a little coloring, it is SO easy to pull together! Don’t you love that background embossing?

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was embossed with the new Layered Florals Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 1 x 4 strip of Flight & Airy Designer Paper (SAB) was cut with a flag end, then added to the front.
The medallion from the Thoughtful Expressions Dies was cut from Pool Party cardstock and stamped with the Thoughtful Expressions greeting in Lost Lagoon Ink. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and colored with Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly, Lost Lagoon and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Iridescent Foil Gems were added to the center of the flowers and medallion.

IM313 – Watercolor Melon

Happy New Year to everyone!!! Did you make any resolutions this year? I know I have a couple challenging ones to fulfill this year! Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s challenge is some fun watermelon pottery pieces!

WATERCOLOR MELONs

Of course…I had to use the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Watercolor Melons, for today’s challenge! I went with bright Poppy Parade and Parakeet Party colors for mine!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A polka dot Poppy Parade 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 Brights 6×6 DSP was wrapped with tied Black & White Gingham Ribbon and added to the top left corner.
- The 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 square of Basic Black was adhered behind the 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock in the upper left corner. The greeting from Ice Cream Swirl is stamped with Poppy Parade Ink in the upper right corner.
- The full watermelon image was stamped with Garden Green Ink on Parakeet Party cardstock and punched with the Modern Oval Punch.
- The watermelon slice was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink and Garden Green rind on Basic White cardstock, the rind colored with Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends for a little more color. The seeds were stamped with Memento Black Ink. It was hand-cut.
- The leaf was stamped with Garden Green ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut.
- All were assembled on the front of the Basic White panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of black Sparkle Dots were added to the background.
