CCMC776 – Inked & Tiled

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. The month of July we do our Case the Catalog Challenges! These are always fun, and we love to see what the Challenge Team comes up with! They can copy the color combo, the stamp set, the layout…or any combination of the above! Lots of creative expression.

INKED & TILED

I had the focal flower image sitting on my desk from starting another project and thought it would be perfect for using on today’s Case the Catalog challenge!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 3-7/8 x 5-3/8 piece of Inked Botanicals flower print is adhered on top.
The flower and stems from Inked & Tiled were inked with Daffodil Delight, Lost Lagoon and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped on Basic White. It was cut with the Deckled Rectangles Dies.
The splatter was added with stamped of Lost Lagoon Inks in the background.
Three Inked & Tiled Punches were punched from Gold Distressed Paper and added to the background of the the Deckled Rectangle, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
One 3/4 x 3-1/2 strip of yellow Inked Botanicals DSP and one 1/2 x 3-3/4 strip of Lost Lagoon Inked Botanicals DSP were added across the bottom at an angle.
The greeting from Inked & Tiled was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Lost Lagoon cardstock, then punched with the Inked & Tiled Punch.
A large loop bow was tied from black Essentials Baker’s Twine and added to the bottom with a Stampin’ Dimensionals, the punch piece was added over it.
Three Tinsel Gems Three Pack were added to the background.

CS98 – Paper Florist Dies

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Dies! So many awesome dies in the catalog that can almost make the card by themselves!

PAPER FLORIST

I’m using the Paper Florist Dies again…because I can! lol! Actually, this card was for a different project that I didn’t use, so I decided to use it for this challenge instead!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-½ x 8-½ Tranquil Tide cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added to the front.
A 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Zoo Crew DSP was added to the center.
Two sets of small and large four petal flowers were cut from Tranquil Tide c/s with the Dies. A Blending Brush was used to add Tranquil Tide Ink to the centers. Adhere both small and large together and add to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut three open leaves from Parakeet Party c/s with Dies, add to front tucked under the flowers.
Cut one large and small flower center with Die from Sweet Sorbet c/s, add to centers.
Cut three small flowers from Lemon Lolly c/s with Die. Add to background.
Stamp Go To Greetings image with Tranquil Tide Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut around the letters, add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add Pastel Sequins to the center of Lemon Lolly flowers.

CCMC775 – Horse & Sleigh

HORSE & SLEIGH

I’m using a brand-new Online Exclusive called Horse & Sleigh stamp set with dies. Of course, I love the horse and sleigh which is the primary focus of this set…but there are a couple fun trees in this set that shouldn’t be left out!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the large tree in Mossy Meadow Ink. The trunk was colored with Light & Dark Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.
The “snow bank” was cut twice from Basic White cardstock using the smaller die, then cut apart and added to the base of the trees.
The greeting from Horse & Sleigh stamp set was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink on 3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock, then layered on a 1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some silver Simply Elegant Trim was tied in a bow and added to the tree on the right.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop – Red

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! For the next few weeks, we will be featuring songs that have color names in their title! This week’s song is “Red” by Taylor Swift. This week’s cards will have a shade of red theme!

EARTHEN TEXTURES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock has a 1 x 4 strip of Brights 6×6 DSP across the bottom.
The vase from Earthen Textures was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with the Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Die.
A 1/8 x 3 strip of Basic Black was added across the top of the DSP centered.
The X detail and the fan palm leaf were cut from Basic Black cardstock, the ferns from Poppy Parade and Cherry Cobbler cardstocks with the Dies. They leaves were adhered behind the vase and curled slightly. The X detail was adhered to the front of the vase with Monoadhesive Glue. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thank you from Earthen Textures stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Poppy Parade cardstock, the ends cut with a flag end, and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Three red Festive Pearls were added to the background.

CS96 – Paper Florist Dies

Happy official 4th of July! Hope you are celebrating with friends or family! And, welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Dies! So many awesome dies in the catalog that can almost make the card by themselves!

PAPER FLORIST

Of course, I wanted to make a patriotic card…and yesterday’s card would have been perfect for this theme, too! But I pulled out my Paper Florist Dies for this card…a few runs thru the Cut & Emboss Machine and it was almost done! No current 4th of July sentiments, so had to create my own.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blueberry Bushel is embossed with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder and added to the front.
The three single flower petals from the Paper Florist Dies were cut twice from Sweet Sorbet cardstock, the center scallop circle from Blueberry Bushel and the center from Basic White. The petals were curled backwards and glued together (use a second center scallop circle on the back to hold them together as you work!) It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were cut with the Dies from Parakeet Party cardstock and tucked under the flower.
The five petal flowers were cut from Basic White cardstock with the dies and the little centers from Sweet Sorbet cardstock. They were added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals over the leaves.
Happy and a portion of birthday from Biggest Wish Stamp Set were stamped with Sweet Sorbet Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut. They were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The 4 from Alphabet Al A Mode Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock.

I think this worked out great, don’t you? I love Sweet Sorbet and Blueberry Bushel together for the red and blue! Make sure to check out Mary’s Creatively Simple card over on Create with Connie and Mary!

CS95 – Irresistible Blooms

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is New Colors! We will design our cards using any of the new colors introduced in the Annual Catalog!

IRRESISTIBLE BLOOMS

I tried a new color combination for me…the new In Color Boho Blue and Soft Sea Foam! I was surprised at how well they went together! I already had these yellow flowers stamped and cut out, so they were perfect to use with that color combination!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Sea Foam cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Boho Blue cardstock was embossed with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 1 x 4 piece of Countryside Inn Designer Paper was added across the front.
Two Irresistible Blooms flowers were stamped with Crushed Curry Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. The leaves were stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on Soft Sea Foam cardstock. All were cut with the Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Hello was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 3/4 x 2-1/4 Soft Sea Foam cardstock and cut with a flag end. It was added tucked under the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of white Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added to the background.

IM286 – Hey Chuck

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. I think this is a rooster print? It certainly is funny with those googly eyes!

HEY CHUCK

Of course…what stamp set did I HAVE to use? Hey Chuck, of course! I love those rooster critters!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pecan Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock was embossed with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder and added at an angle.
- A 1 x 4-1/4 strip of Glorious Gingham pecan check DSP was added across the front.
- The 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock was cut with the Deckle Die. The top portion was sponged with White Craft Ink to create clouds.
- A 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock was cut with the bottom of the Deckle Die and then top torn across. It is sponged with Pecan Pie Ink and added to the bottom of the Tranquil Tide piece. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The rooster and cake from Hey Chuck stamp set were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Shaded Spruce Combo, Light Blueberry Bushel, Poppy Parade Combo, Daffodil Delight Combo Stampin’ Blends. They were cut with the Hey Chuck Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The fence was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake Combo Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Die and added to the front.
- The greeting was stamped with Pecan Pie Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut apart, then placed on the front.
- A trio of Adhesive Backed Tinsel Four Pack Dots were added to the background.
