It’s Monday and time for another Inspiration Monday on Create with Connie and Mary! This canvas of Sunflowers is gorgeous, isn’t it?  Of course, I had to pull out Painted Harvest to use…it just seemed to fit!

Here’s what I did with the inspiration…LOVE that Buffalo Check background!

Stampin’ Details:

• The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mango Melody cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded (fold is on the side).
• The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with the Buffalo Check Background and Mango Melody Ink.
• Early Espresso cardstock was cut with the largest Stitched Shape Square.
• The sunflower was stamped on a scrap piece of So Saffron cardstock with Crushed Curry, Mango Melody and Early Espresso Inks and punched with the 2-1/2 circle punch, then added to the square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• A couple leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green, punched with the Trio Leaf Punch and tucked under the circle with Mini Glue Dots.
• The greeting was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on a 1 x 2-1/2 piece of Whisper White cardstock then cut with a flag end.
• A 1/4 x 3 piece of Early Espresso cardstock was added under the greeting.
• Finally, a piece of Braided Linen Trim was tied in a knot and frayed, then added to the center of the sunflower with a Mini Glue Dot.

It’s a pretty simple layout, so you’d be surprised that I fussed and fussed with it!  lol!  In fact, I completely tore my original apart and redid it!  Sometimes it just doesn’t come out like you imagine in your head!  OK…go check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Challenge this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring our “Favorite Holiday Catalog Product” this week! You KNOW that is hard, right?  SOOO many great items in the holiday catalog, it was SO hard to just choose one.  So, I went with my first instinct (and probably everyone else will, too!) and used Painted Harvest.  It is the first set that I knew I absolutely would be purchasing.

 

I ended up doing a series of three with this layout…I’ll show off the other two versions next week, so make sure to stop by…

• The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
• Two 1 x 4 pieces of Painted Autumn Designer Paper were added to each side of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.
• A 1/2 x 5 strip of the coordinating Espresso pattern DSP was added across the top section.
• One sunflower was directly stamped on the Very Vanilla cardstock layer with Crushed Curry Ink for the solid background and Pumpkin Pie for the top layer.  Early Espresso Ink was stamped off for the center of the flower, the the dotted image was full-strength.
• A second flower was stamped the same on scrap Very Vanilla cardstock, then hand-cut and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• The leaves background was stamped off Garden Green, then the veins were full-strength Garden Green Ink.  They were punched with the Leaf Punch and tucked under the popped-up flower.
• The thankful greeting was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on scrap Very Vanilla, then punched with the Everyday Label Punch and sponged around the edges with Pumpkin Pie Ink and tucked under the sunflower.
• Some Linen Thread was double tied in a bow and added to the sunflower with a Mini Glue Dot.

 

This set makes it SO easy to make nice looking cards!  As I said, I’ll show off the other two versions later next week! I’m thinking everyone is in love with the new Painted Harvest stamp set that will be available TOMORROW in the Holiday Catalog!  SO many pretty cards done with it!  The color combination for our Create with Connie and Mary inspired the look of my card…stepping away from sunflowers into blue flowers!  LOVE how it turned out!

 

 

Here’s my card.  I did double flowers for more dimension!

 

 

Here are the details:

• The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Dapper Denim, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form base card.
• On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer, I stamped the flower three times, first with the background image stamped off, then the top image full strength with Dapper Denim ink.
• Three flowers were stamped again the same way (stamp off, the full strength) on scrap Whisper White, then cut along the inside layer of petals.  The centers are done with Soft Suede Ink, then the speckle stamp added on top.  Some random leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz Ink in the background.  I added the cut flowers on top of the backgroud flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• A few more leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz Ink (stamp off for background, full strength for veins), then punched with the Leaf Punch and tucked around the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Some Linen Thread was wrapped around three times and adhered in the back.
• The greeting was stamped with Dapper Denim on Soft Suede cardstock, punched with the new Everyday Label Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• A little Clear Wink of Stella on the centers gives the flowers a little sparkle!
