IM125 – Timeless Tropical

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration are some darling cookies! I know I’ve said it before, but I sure wish I could decorate cookies like that!

Of course, Timeless Tropical stamp set has the PERFECT flower to use!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Melon Mambo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder, then rubbed with Crumb Cake Ink on the raised areas.
- A 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Tropical Oasis DSP was added on top.
- Two 1/4 x 5 pieces of Granny Apple Green cardstock were placed across the DSP.
- The hibiscus flower was stamped once with Granny Apple Green Ink and once with Melon Mambo Ink on Whisper White cardstock. They were colored with Light Granny Apple Green Blends and Light Flirty Flamingo Blends, then cut with the In The Tropics Dies. The centers were drawn with Light Basic Black Blends. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Three leaves were stamped with Memento Black Ink, then colored with Dark Soft Sea Foam and Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. They were tucked under the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 3/4 x 3 Melon Mambo cardstock, then cut the ends at an angle and added to the front.
- Two Melon Mambo Glitter Dots were added on the upper corner of the DSP for a little bling!

Hello everyone! Hope you are well! Today on Create with Connie and Mary, we have a fun sketch challenge for you to try!

I kind of took liberty with the sketch, substituting my pineapple for the rectangle piece! Thought it worked out pretty well!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Subtles Embossing Folder an added on top.
Three 1 x 3-3/4 panels of Tropical Oasis Designer Paper were added to the background.
The pineapple base was cut from Mango Melody cardstock with the In The Tropics Die and sponged with Mango Melody Ink.
The pineapple base was cut from Old Olive cardstock with the In The Tropics Die and sponged with Shaded Spruce Ink. Both were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower from Timeless Tropical stamp set was stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then colored with the Light Flirty Flamingo and Dark Petal Pink Blends. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The center flower was cut from Flirty Flamingo cardstock with the In The Tropics Die and added to the flower with Mini Glue Dot.
The small leaf was cut from Old Olive cardstock with the In The Tropics Die.and tucked under the flower.
Hello from Timeless Tropical Stamp Set was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on scrap Whisper White and tucked under the smaller flower on the front and secured with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
Three pink Noble Peacock Rhinestones were added to the top and the center of the flower.
A double strand of Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the neck of the pineapple.

Keep Stamping Challenge #1 – Timeless Tropical

One of the demo Facebook pages I belong to issued an ongoing weekly challenge to “Keep Stamping”! This week is a lovely color combination. Use one, two or ALL the colors featured! I thought I’d play along and you can, too!

I love this recent tropical set, Timeless Tropical in the Occasions Catalog…and it will be especially nice if I actually get to use it for my upcoming Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Maui! Who knows if we will still be able to go in July! But, this card was pretty easy to put together, especially since I had most of the “starts” sitting on my desk! The flower was done, the tag was done…all I did was stamp a couple leaves, tie the ribbon on the tag and make the base card from one of the retiring In Colors, Grapefruit Grove! Nice!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Grapefruit Grove cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder.
The flower from Timeless Tropical stamp set was stamped with Versamark on Shimmer White cardstock, then watercolored with Terracotta Tile, Mango Melody and Grapefruit Grove Reinkers and the AquaPainter.
The flower was cut with the In the Tropics Dies. The center of the flower was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock with the die.
Two leaves from Timeless Tropical stamp set were stamped with Old Olive on the Old Olive print in the Tropical Oasis Designer Paper, then cut with the Dies.
The tag was cut from Grapefruit Grove cardstock with the Bonanza Dies and tied with Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon. The greeting from Timeless Tropical was stamped with Memento Black Ink at the top of the tag.
The tag was added to the front and the flower/leaves added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dot was added to the center of the flower for a little bling!

IM116 – Timeless Tropical

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week’s inspiration is a fun floral headpiece!

It looked like flowers you’d find in Hawaii to me, so I pulled out Timeless Tropical stamp set for my card.

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock and scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped with the speckle stamp in Beauty Abounds in the upper left and lower right corners.
- The flowers were stamped with Versamark on Shimmer White cardstock, then embossed with White Embossing Powders.
- I spritzed the cardstock with water, then used an AquaPainter and Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Shaded Spruce and Old Olive Ink Refills to give the watercolor look to the flowers. They were cut out with the In The Tropics Dies.
- The top of the Pineapple and two of the small ferns were cut with the Dies from Shaded Spruce cardstock.
- The greeting was stamped with Shaded Spruce on Whisper White and punched with the Label Me Fancy Punch.
- Everything was added to the Crumb Cake llayer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The centers of the flowers were cut with the Die from Daffodil Delight cardstock, then added with Mini Glue Dots.
- Some red Holiday Rhinestones (still available!) were added to the centers and one green one to the pineapple top.

CCMC601 – Timeless Tropical

Hello everyone!!! Happy last Thursday in February! lol! It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a color challenge for you…and it WAS a challenge for me!

I couldn’t find a DSP that had all three of these colors, so I “altered” one that I did have! I used the stripe in Best Dressed DSP and changed out the Mint Macaron color to Old Olive by using my Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends! It worked perfectly and since the lines were kind of abstract watercolor looking, I didn’t even have to be that careful when I did it!

Here’s my card using Timeless Tropical again. I really do like that set!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Purple Posy cardstock.
A 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of “altered” Best Dressed DSP was added to a 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock and then to the front of the card.
A 2″ circle was punched from Whisper White cardstock and added to the front.
The palm trees were colored with Old Olive and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Makers and then stamped on Whisper White cardstock, and cut with the In the Tropics Die, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with the Purple Posy Light & Dark Stampin’ Blends, cut with the In The Tropics Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ferns and leaves and Aloha were cut from Pretty Peacock and Old Olive cardstock with the In The Tropic Dies, then tucked around the flowers with Mini Glue Dots.
Inside the flowers centers are Nobel Peacock Rhinestones with another added in the background.

Hello Thursday! Getting closer to the weekend! There is another sketch for you to try this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Since there is such a big background element on this sketch, I decided to use the car print in the Tropical Oasis Designer Paper! I LOVE that print and didn’t want to chop it up…but it has to get used! Of course, most of Stampin’ Up!’s designer paper is almost too pretty to use! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Sea Foam cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party has been embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder.
The 3 x 4 piece of Tropical Oasis Designer Paper was layered on a 3-1/8 x 4-1/8 piece of Early Espresso cardstock, then added to the front of the card.
A 1/4 x 4-1/4 strip of Early Espresso was placed towards the bottom of the DSP.
The 3/4 x 3-1/4 reverse print in Tropical Oasis DSP was added to the front according to the sketch.
Thank You from Timeless Tropical stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Stitched So Sweeting Die. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Pineapple image was colored on the rubber with Crushed Curry and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers, then colored in with So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz Markers. It was cut with the In The Tropics die and added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A mint Holiday Rhinestone Jewel was added next to the greeting for a little bling.

Happy Thursday everyone!!! Hope your week is going great! We have a fun sketch for you this week over on Create with Connie and Mary’s Thursday Challenge! Come play along!

This card came together pretty easily…mainly because I had several of the elements done and sitting on my desk from other projects! I had a few of these pineapples from In The Tropics Dies left over from I swap I did, so that became the focus of my card.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party Cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 3 x 4-1/2 piece of Tropical Oasis Designer Paper Pool Party print was added to the left side.
The 3/4 x 3-1/2 of coordinating floral print in the Tropical Oasis Designer Paper was added over top.
The 1/4 x 3-3/4 Shaded Spruce cardstock strip placed on top.
The pineapple from the In The Tropics Die was cut from Mango Melody cardstock, then glued on a piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock. It was hand-cut around the shape and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The top of the pineapple was cut with the die from Pear Pizzazz cardstock, then sponged with Shaded Spruce Ink. It was shaped and then added about 1/2 inch above the pineapple on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped on a 3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Whisper White cardstock with Shaded Spruce Ink, then the sides torn. It was added over the gap on the pineapple.
A trio of green Holiday Rhinestones (did you know these carried over???? I’m SO happy they did!) was added to the background.
