CCMC438 High Tide

My mom loves lighthouses, so this stamp set in the new Occasions catalog caught my eye right away!   I really wanted to use it for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, and I think I managed it!

 

 

Here’s my design:

 

I thought the Pool Party would be great for water and the Flirty Flamingo for the morning sky!  Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Spritz the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White with water, and use an AquaPainter and Pool Party Ink Pad to  watercolor along the bottom; Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad and the AquaPainter painted the sky.  Let dry.
  • Use the small ground stamp with Smoky Slate Ink along the left side of the water.  Stamp the “waves” in the water with Pool Party Ink.
  • Stamp the lighthouse base with Smoky Slate Ink and the top with Flirty Flamingo Ink on top of the ground.
  • Stamp some sea oats with Smoky Slate Ink around the lighthouse.
  • Ink up three small birds with Smoky Slate Marker and stamp on the front.
  • Stamp the greeting with Memento Black Ink.

Oh So Succulent

Oh my!  Hope you have all recovered from the Christmas craziness!  We have SO much to cram into a short period of time, but it wouldn’t be Christmas without trying to do it all!  We do love gathering to see family and friends!  Our grandchildren were a JOY this year, even though trying to get the meal on the table is a huge challenge!  Two babies wanting to eat at different times, naps and just general chaos like usual!

 

Anyway…now to get busy planning my January classes!  Remember, our December Create with Connie and Mary Mini Session uses new stamps and products from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs!  It’s not too late to sign up!  I used the Oh So Succulent Bundle on my December project, so thought I’d make a card for you to enjoy here on my blog!  I made this a few weeks ago when I got my preorder!

 

 

I love that the swirl in the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets looks like a wreath, so I used it as a base for my Succulent flower.

 

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.
  • Next layer is a 3-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Succulent Garden Designer Paper.
  • The swirl was cut from Tip Top Taupe cardstock and added to the front.
  • Three layers of the small flowers were cut with the Succulent Framelits from Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, then stacked together and adhered.  In the center is a White Perfect Accent.  Two hanging succulents were cut from Mint Macaron cardstock and added under the flower.
  • The greeting was stamped below the designer paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

 

Pretty simple, but love how it looks!

SUOC164 Stitched with Cheer

Wow…the week of Christmas!  Can you believe it?  I’ve lost all track of time with my dad being in the hospital…running there every day really can eat into your time!  I’m thankful that my Stampin’ Up! business is so flexible that I can take the time I need to right now to focus on my family.  But…that isn’t getting my cookies made or the presents wrapped!  Oh well…what gets done, gets done, right?

 

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is projects that feature Ovals, Circles and Squares!  Pretty easy, theme…right?  Well, my mind was going in a ton of different directions!  Finally I went with this cute snowman.  I did a tag class a couple years ago with the snowman as a circle…I incorporated that idea with Stampin’ Up!’s new Stitched Shapes Framelits and matched it with the Stitched with Cheer Stamp Set greeting!

 

 

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sky cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White was embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
  • At the bottom a 2 x 4 piece of Soft Sky was torn for the ground.
  • The snowman was cut with the largest circle Stitched Shapes Framelit from Whisper White cardstock.
  • The scarf was a 1/4″ strip cut on a curve from This Christmas Designer Paper.
  • The mittens were punched from the This Christmas DSP  and the boots from Basic Black cardstock with the Cookie Builder Punch.
  • The eyes and buttons were punched from Basic Black cardstock with the small circle on the Cookie Builder Punch.
  • The nose is the small star punched from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
  • The hat is cut from Snow Friends Framelit from Basic Black cardstock with a small 1/8″ strip of DSP on it.
  • The cheeks were colored with an AquaPainter and Blushing Bride Marker.
  • The greeting from Stitched with Cheer stamp set (that set is SO worth the money just for the greetings!) in Cherry Cobbler Ink.
  • The snowman was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, some Clear Wink of Stella was added to the ground for some sparkle.

Cookie Cutter Christmas

My 3-1/2 year old grandson can be a handful sometimes…so I thought I’d send a card to remind him that Santa is watching…along with his helpers!  Rudolph was Santa’s assistant this week!  PLUS…I was able to use up all the pieces of this card that I had laying on my desk!  Woohoo!

 

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
  • A 1/4 x 4 strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper was added across the seam.
  • The Stitched Shape Circle Framelit was cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Rudolph was stamped with Memento Black Ink and watercolored with Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip Markers.  His nose was stamped again with Real Red Ink and hand cut.
  • The Santa hat was punched from Real Red and the brim/pompom from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
  • Rudolph was added to the Circle, then to the front of the card.
  • Ho Ho Ho from Greetings from Santa was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink in the upper left corner.
  • Inside the greeting was Naughty or Nice (?)…lol!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – All That Glitters

Woohoo, it’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is All That Glitters!  I went with a pretty CAS design on mine with “parts” that I had on my desk!  Love when I can use those up!  It gave me a challenge, too, because they were pieces that I normally wouldn’t have associated together.

 

 

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 Sweet Sugarplum cardstock layer is stamped with the greeting from Star of Light in Memento Black Ink.
  • The Large Layering Oval was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Flower Medallion was punched from Silver Glimmer Paper.
  • The large star from Starlight Thinlet Dies was cut from Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, then layered on the outline Thinlet cut from Metallic Silver Cardstock.  Those were glued to the Flower Medallion Punch with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  (Doesn’t that look COOL behind the star????)
  • In the center is the smallest star Thinlet cut from Silver Glimmer Paper and added with a Mini Glue Dot.

 

It is SO hard to see how much this glitters and the Silver Metallic reflects the light!  Hope you enjoy it!

Cookie Cutter Christmas

I’ve mentioned before that I did several craft fairs this year.  I sold out of these Santa Nugget favors at the first one and ended up making another big batch of them.  I only have one left!  Pretty good sellers!  (You can see one of the other style I did for craft shows using the Gingerbread image here!)

 

Here’s a partial batch of them that I remembered to take:

 

A few details:

  • The Hershey Nuggets were wrapped with 1 x 3 pieces of Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper (sold out).
  • I used the 2 x 8 Cello Bags that Stampin’ Up! sells and were tied closed with the Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine.
  • Peaceful Pines tree was stamped with Always Artichoke Ink on Garden Green cardstock and cut with the Tree Framelit.
  • Santa was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and watercolored with Real Red, Basic Black, Crushed Curry and Blushing Bride.  Wink of Stella was used on the fur and beard to make them sparkle.  He was punched with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.
  • The tray is Real Red cardstock…sorry, I didn’t keep the measurement.  The width of the Hershey nugget plus 1/2 inch on each side, scored at 1/4 and 1/2 on each side and the length about 5-1/2.

CCMC437 Blooms & Wishes

Another week has rolled by and it is Thursday again and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!  I used this week’s design to create a very CAS design on my card.  It took the longest to cut out the flower and leaves!

Here’s my card using the stamp set Blooms & Wishes.  Love that an “all occasion” stamp set can be converted into a Christmas theme just by apply colors, a Christmas greeting and DSP!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
  • Across the White is a 1/2″ strip of Presents & Pinecones Designer Paper (LOVE that stripe!).
  • Under the DSP is the greeting from Holly Berry Happiness (I also LOVE the greetings in this set!) stamped in Emerald Envy Ink.
  • The flower from Blooms & Wishes was stamped full strength with Real Red Ink, then turned slightly and stamped off again to give a fullness to the bloom.  It was hand-cut out.
  • The leaves are the same stamp image, inked with Emerald Envy and stamped, then hand-cut out the petals individually for the leaves.  They were adhered with Tombow Monoadhesive Glue to the back of the flowers.
  • In the center is a Metal Rimmed Pearl.
  • The flower was popped up on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Tin of Tags Snowflake

You may recall that I’ve shown several different looks with the Tin of Tags Snowflake over the past couple months.  Some times I just like to sit down with a set and play with several colors and layouts!  Here’s the last of that series that I’ve made.  (You can see the others HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE!)  With the fun ribbon on this one, it reminds me of a big present all wrapped up and ready to give away!

 

 

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form base card.
  • The Warm Wishes greeting from Tin of Tags stamp set is stamped in Real Red Ink at the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky.
  • The 3/4″ Real Red Stitched Ribbon is wrapped around the Soft Sky layer and tied with a knot in the center.  The layer was adhered to the base card.
  • The snowflake from Tin of Tags stamp set is stamped with Real Red Ink on scrap Whisper White, then punched with the Flower Medallion Punch (don’t you love when you find out something works with a punch you already have?  I love that the snowflake fits in the punch…Stampin’ Up! doesn’t have it listed that it does!)
  • In the center of the snowflake is a Silver Metallic Sequin.  The snowflake is popped up on the front of the card.

 

That’s it!  Pretty CAS design and probably one that you wouldn’t mail because of the bulky ribbon, but I’d tuck this card into a hand-delivered gift bag for the recipient to enjoy!
