IM411 – Festive Friends

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration is a wonderful photo of Santa and his reindeer on a sleigh with gifts!

FESTIVE FRIENDS

I really wanted a more realistic looking Santa for this challenge but sadly I didn’t have any current ones. Festive Friends to the rescue!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1//4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder (the focal point in the upper left corner).
A 2 x 4 piece of Christmas Tags & More Designer Paper was added across the front with a 1/4 x 4 strip of Real Red cardstock on the top towards the bottom.
The large 2-7/8″ Circle was cut from Pool Party cardstock and added inside the Dotted Circles with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Santa was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Real Red, Basic Black, Ivory and Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Festive Friends Die and added to the circle towards the left side.
Three of the die-cut packages from the Christmas Tags & More DSP were added next to Santa on the right with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Festive Friends Stamp Set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals slightly under the larger circle.
A trio of red Traditional Sparkling Sequins were added in the background.

IM357 – Sweetest Star

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This is a cute hanging Santa trio, and I used Sweetest Star stamp set on my card, of course!

SWEETEST STAR

I just love all the small Christmas prints in the Take a Bow 6×6 Designer Paper Pack! I used several of them in 1″ strips for my background.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Five Take a Bow patterns were cut into 1 x 4 strips and adhered in the background with a small spacing between them.
The Spotlight on Nature circle was cut from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and the first part of the Sweetest Star greeting inked with a Black Stampin’ Write Marker. The dots were added to show the greeting continued on the inside.
Some Iridescent Ribbon was looped a couple times and attached to the front with a Stampin’ Dimensional, then the circle added on top with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Santa star was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Real Red, Light Basic Black, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Gray Granite, and Ivory Stampin’ Blends. He was punched out with the Sweetest Star Punch and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of white Drusy Embellishments were added to the background (they REALLY sparkle!)

Delicate Baubles Dies – Santa and Mrs Claus

Here’s the cutest couple around! Santa and Mrs. Claus! I’ve had these done for a couple weeks and have been anxious to share them! Aren’t they SWEET? This makes 15 & 16 different looks using the arabesque shape in the Delicate Baubles Dies!

You can see my GNOME, SANTA, GINGERBREAD, ELF, PENGUIN, SNOWMAN, WITCH, MICKEY MOUSE, DRACULA, RUDOLPH, GRINCH & MAX, NUTCRACKER, and SCARECROW by clicking on their name.

Stampin’ Details for cards:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added on top.
A 2-3/4 x 5 piece of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper was added to the background with a 1/2 x 5-1/4 coordinating stripe added towards the bottom of the DSP.
Santa has the Ho Ho Ho greeting from Perfectly Plaid Stamp set, stamped in Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Frightful Tags label. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Mrs. Claus has the Be Merry greeting from Banner Year Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut the Frightful Tags label. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two Red Rhinestones were added to the upper part of the DSP.

SANTA CLAUS

The solid arabesque Delicate Bauble Die is cut from Petal Pink, Basic White and Real Red cardstocks.
The top of the Real Red bauble was cut for his hat.
The bottom of the Basic White bauble was cut for his beard and a slice for his hat trim.
The mustache is two ghosts from the Halloween Punch punched from Basic White cardstock and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
His nose is a 1″ Circle from Petal Pink cardstock and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
His eyes are 3/8″ Circles from Basic Black with White Chalk Pen highlights.
His cheeks are 1/2″ Circles from Flirty Flamingo cardstock.
His hat pom pom is a 1/2″ circle from Basic White cardstock.
Some White Chalk Pen was also added to his nose.
Santa was popped up on the front of the base card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

MRS. CLAUS

The solid arabesque Delicate Bauble Die is cut from Petal Pink, Basic White and Real Red cardstocks. (NOTE: if making both, you can use the opposite sides of the Real Red and Basic White baubles you cut for Santa).
The bottom of the Real Red bauble was cut for her blouse. A small slice was cut for the bun holder in her hair.
The top of the Basic White bauble was cut for her hair and embossed with the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder. A slice was cut for the collar on her blouse.
Her nose is a 3/8″ Circle from Petal Pink cardstock and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Her eyes are 3/8″ Circles from Basic Black with White Chalk Pen highlights.
Her cheeks are 1/2″ Circles from Flirty Flamingo cardstock.
Her mouth is a slice of Real Red cut with the 1/2″ circle from Real Red cardstock.
Some White Chalk Pen was also added to her nose.
The holly and berries from Banner Year were stamped with Garden Green and Real Red Inks on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added to her hair bun.
Two small Basic Pearls were added to her blouse for “buttons”
Mrs. Claus was popped up on the front of the base card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think Mrs. Claus is one of my FAVORITES! I’m having a blast with these characters! Still more to come…

CCMC373 Cup of Cheer

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! We have a really fun sketch for you to try this week! I love the different looks the designers came up with!

And here is my card. I love cutting out those Santa images in the Home for Christmas Designer Paper!

Here are the details on how to recreate this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla.
Across the center is a 2 x 5-1/4 strip of Home for Christmas DSP, along the bottom of it is a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Gold Metallic Cardstock.
The greeting was stamped first with Tuxedo Black Ink on Very Vanilla, then stamped again in Real Red and the “On his way” cut out and placed over the Tuxedo Black one with Stampin’ Dimensions. It was cut with the 3rd from smallest Oval Framelit.
The Pool Party snow pattern DSP was cut with the Lots of Labels Framelit and popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the Oval greeting on top.
The Santa was hand-cut from the DSP…love that his ice skates make it look like he spelled out the greeting!
Finally added Home for Christmas Enamel Dots to the front for some bling!

Color Me Christmas Santa

I love this set, Color Me Christmas, the more and more I work with it. At first I thought it was almost too childish…but with a new grandbaby, I'd figure I would still use it. But, it really has turned more whimsical than childish in my mind! Here's a card I did using the Santa for the first time. I'm thinking I'll make my Santa tags with him this year…was quick and easy to color! I also used the new photopolymer stamp set, Christmas Tagables for the greetings.

Here are the details.

The base of the card is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White on top.
Next is a 2 1/4 x 5" strip of Season of Style Designer Paper, cut with a flag end.
I stamped the Santa from Color Me Christmas with Black Stazon on Whisper White, then watercolored with Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Blush Blossom, and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers. I cut with the Circle Framelits.
I also cut Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Silver Glimmer Circles with the Circle Frameits.
The Merry Christmas banner and 25 come from the Christmas Tagables set and I stamped them with Basic Black or Cherry Cobbler. The 25 is punched with the 3/4" Circle and adhered to the Silver Glimmer Paper with Monoadhesive.

Isn't he fun? Pretty quick and easy card to make, too!
