CCMC683 – Frightfully Cute

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Today’s sketch is SO fun…and I used my new Frightfully Cute bundle on my card!

FRIGHTFULLY CUTE BUNDLE

I think the Black and Bumblebee colors are striking for this Halloween card!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black was added on top.
  • The 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Bumblebee cardstock was embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder and sponged around the edges with Smoky Slate Ink.
  • The 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock was cut to a point at one end.  The moon was stamped with Bumblebee Ink, then a mask made to cover it while It was sponged with Smoky Slate Ink using a sponge dauber.
  • A 1 x 3 piece of Cute Halloween DSP was cut at an angle and added under the point.
  • The tree from Frightful Tags Dies was cut from Basic Black cardstock and adhered on front.
  • The witch was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added over the moon.
  • The tombstone was hand-cut from the Cute Halloween Designer Paper and added with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  The entire piece was adhered to the front.
  • Frightfully Cute greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Creatively Simple 3 – Nature’s Harvest

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s second Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Hello” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Nature’s Harvest for my simple card today.  I love the colors of Soft Suede and Very Vanilla together, and the unexpected pop of Bumblebee color!  I made these (with the word Welcome) for my new team members this month!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Suede cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla was stamped with the flower from Nature’s Harvest in Soft Suede Ink in bottom right.
  • Using the Soft Suede Marker, draw a pool of ink on plastic, then add water.  Use the AquaPainter to pick up the watered down ink and tap to splatter the ink in the background.
  • Cut a 3/4 x 2-3/4 strip of Harvest Meadow Designer Paper in the Bumblebee print, cut end at an angle, and adhere to front.
  • Cut a 1/2 x 1-1/4 piece of Soft Suede cardstock, stamp the word Hello from Create with Friends stamp set in Soft Suede Ink.  Add to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Tie a bow in gold Simply Elegant trim and add next to greeting with a Mini Glue Dot.

IM194 – Nuts About Squirrels

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have an adorable fall squirrel print for our inspiration piece.  Of course, I HAD to use the equally adorable Nuts About Squirrels stamp set in the July-December Mini Catalog!

NUTS ABOUT SQUIRRELS

This stamp set is just TOO cute…I love that Nuts About You greeting in it!  I know my grandkids will get a kick out of it!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Early Espresso cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of In Good Taste Designer Paper was added on top.  (LOVE that paper!  I just opened my second package of it!)
    • A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Early Espresso cardstock was added across the front.
    • Another pattern in the In Good Taste DSP was cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The squirrel from Nuts About Squirrels stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink, and the detail image with Crumb Cake Ink.  The acorn top was stamped with stamped off Early Espresso and the nut with Crumb Cake Ink.
    • The cheeks were colored with Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.
    • The squirrel was hand-cut and added to the rectangle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The leaves were stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink, Bumblebee Ink and Cinnamon Cider Ink and the veins with Early Espresso Ink.  The branch was stamped with Early Espresso Ink. They were all hand-cut and added to the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Nuts About You was stamped with Early Espresso Ink and cut with the 1″ Layering Circle Die.
    • A trio of gold Brushed Metallic Dots were added to the leaves for a little bling.

CCMC682 – Gorgeous Leaves

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Today’s color combination is perfect for fall, so I pulled out my Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set to use!

GORGEOUS LEAVES STAMP SET

There are coordinating dies, too…I just didn’t use them this time.  I kept the stamping simple, but spent my time coloring the leaves on the black & white Pattern Party Designer Paper!  I used the Light So Saffron, Just Jade and Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends to color them.

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Just Jade cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 3 x 5-1/2 piece of Patterns Party DSP (Host selection) was colored with the Stampin’ Blends, then added to a 3-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock.  It was added to the front towards the left side.
  • A 2-3/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the leaf in So Saffron Ink and the corners with the sprinkle stamp in Cinnamon Cider Ink.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • The Delicate Dahlias greeting was stamped with Just Jade in the bottom left corner.

Creatively Simple 2 – Nuts About Squirrels

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s second Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Hello” and create a simple card each week using that theme!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Nuts about Squirrels for my simple card today.  It really was quite easy to pull together!  You could even make it easier by stamping the squirrel directly onto the tree limbs instead of cutting him out like I did!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamps with the tree limb from Nuts About Squirrels stamp set in Early Espresso Ink twice, stem to stem.
  • The solid leaves were stamped with Soft Sea Foam Ink and the veins with Shaded Spruce Ink around the stems.
  • The squirrel from Nuts About Squirrels was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and the body detail with Cinnamon Cider Ink.  The top of the acorn was stamped with Early Espresso Ink and the bottom with Soft Suede Ink.  It was hand-cut and added to the tree limb with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added to the background.
  • Hey There from Nuts About Squirrels was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink above the squirrel.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a cute little decorated sheep cupcake or cookie for our inspiration piece!

COUNTING SHEEP BUNDLE

Two of the Sale-A-Bration products available for FREE with purchase this month, are these cute Counting Sheep stamps that coordinate with the Sheep Dies!  Who can resist those faces?

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sea Foam cardstock.
    • Across the front is a 3/4 x 4 strip of Party Patterns DSP (Host only selection) and a layering circle cut from the green print in that DSP, too.  Both adhered to the front.
    • The fence is cut with the Sheep Dies from Crumb Cake cardstock and added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The sheep was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and colored with the Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Sheep Dies and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The balloon was cut from Real Red, the sun from Daffodil Delight, the cloud from Basic White with the Sheep Dies.  They were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 12 x 3 piece of Petal Pink cardstock, the end cut on an angle.
    • A Rhinestone Jewel was added to the balloon for a little bling.

Creatively Simple 1 – Delicate Dahlias

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s FIRST Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Hello” and create a simple card each week using that theme!  Now…you know me…less is NOT more in my book!  My cards tend to be more advanced!  But…I promised Mary that I would give it a try!  lol!  I just have to remember to take things OFF that I want to use!  So…here goes with my FIRST Creatively Simple card challenge!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s free Sale-A-Bration set, Delicate Dahlias, for my card today…in fact I made TWO using different colors!  You’ll need to tell me which one you prefer!  The first uses some fall flower colors!  And the Double Oval Punch frames the greeting from Biggest Wish.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Early Espresso is added to the front.
  • The 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 piece of Basic White was stamped with the Delicate Dahlia stamp in Pumpkin Pie and Bumblebee Inks around the edges.
  • Hello from Biggest Wish was stamped with Early Espresso Ink and stamped on scrap Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Oval using the Double Oval Punch.  The scallop oval was punched from Early Espresso cardstock.  The ovals were adhered together, then added to the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added to the background.

Here’s the second version using Misty Moonlight and Flirty Flamingo Inks…more of a summer look, I think!  In this one I used the larger block HELLO from Biggest Wish in the center without using a punch.  A trio of Holiday Rhinestones in the background.

IM192 – Clever Cats

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a cute little kitty for our inspiration!  This one was rather obvious to me…of course I had to use my Clever Cats stamp set!

 

CLEVER CATS

I changed the box up with some bright colors!  I’ve used my new Blackberry Beauty DSP for the first time!  My gray cat, Bleach, always loved to play in boxes!  I miss her!  We’ve been on the lookout for another female ginger kitten…maybe someday!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
    • The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Blackberry Beauty Designer Paper was added on top.
    • A 1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock was added to the bottom of a 1-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Polished Pink cardstock that was stamped with the greeting from Clever Cats in Memento Black Ink.
    • Some White Glittery Ribbon was wrapped around and tied in a knot on the front.  Then it was added to the front.
    • The cat in the box was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White and cut with the Layering Circles Die.  The box was colored with Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends and the eyes with Light Granny Apple Green Blends.  The circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A trio of pink In Color Jewels were added to the background.
