CCMC465 Oh So Eclectic

It’s Thursday…time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! We have a fun color challenge using one of the new In Colors for you to try this week!

Oh So Eclectic has some random shapes and images in the Bundle, but I love the star shaped cutout thinlit. I decided to further cut it out from the surrounding cardstock and use it as a little accent on my card.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tranquil Tide cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The diamond shape background accent piece was cut from Night of Navy cardstock and added to the front.
The little flower image from Oh So Eclectic was stamped several times with Tranquil Tide Ink in the background on a diagonal.
The two flowers were stamped with Night of Navy Ink on Peekaboo Peach, then cut with the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. The centers were sponged with Peekaboo Peach Ink for a little shading. They were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Three leaves were stamped with Tranquil Tide Ink and cut with the Thinlits, then tucked and adhered under the flowers.
A bow was made from Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon and added with Mini Glue Dots.
The Missing You greeting from Oh So Eclectic was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on scrap Whisper White, trimmed and tucked under the flower on the front.

Pocketful of Sunshine

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July holiday! We attended a potluck dinner at the clubhouse of our new home and met lots of new neighbors!

I participated in WAY too many New Catalog swaps last month. I committed to them before our move…not realizing how out-of-sorts the move would make me…not to mention that I wouldn’t be able to find my stamping supplies easily! But, I felt that I would need some samples for my stamp clubs to see…and I wouldn’t be able to make them up myself! So…good news is that I have a lot of new card samples…but they are wanting me to BUY more new stuff! Of course…that’s the purpose, right?

Here’s one swap card I made using the new Pocketful of Sunshine. I had to make 21 of them! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those sunglasses! I’ve been wanting something like them for a long time! Paired them with the new Starburst punch that looks like a sun…and the yummy new Lemon Lime Twist bright cardstock! Perfect! This is actually the second version of the card…will show you the first one in a few days!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper was placed along the right edge of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
Lucky Lime Twist Ribbon hides the seam and wraps to the back to adhere.
You Dazzle Me from Pocketful of Sunshine was stamped on Daffodil Delight cardstock and punched with the Starburst Punch then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sunglasses were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Lucky Lime Twist cardstock, then cut with the Pocket Framelits. It was placed on the sun with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two Rhinestone Jewels were placed on the sunglasses in the corners and then on the top of the Whisper White cardstock for a little bling.

SUOC178 Mixed Drinks

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Summer Fun”. We had several options for summer fun…but summer makes me think of warm weather and a tropical beach…plus those fruity little drinks I only get when I’m on vacation! So…I used a brand new set to me…Mixed Drinks.

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock, some Pool Party Ink was watercolored along the bottom, then some sprinkles from Swirly Bird stamp set with Pool Party Ink was added on top.
A 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Pick a Pattern Designer Paper was added along the left side of the Whisper White.
The drink glass and umbrella from Mixed Drinks Stamp Set were stamped with Memento Black Ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, then the inside colored with Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Daffodil Delight Markers. It was hand-cut and added to the front of the card.
The greeting from Mixed Drinks was stamped with Memento Black Ink on front.
The sun from Swirly Bird was stamped several times in the corner with Crushed Curry Ink.
A couple Glitter Dots were added to the front for a little sparkle.

CCMC464 Coffee Cafe

It’s Thursday…time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! It’s the last of our “Case the Catalog” challenges this month! These have been fun…we’ll definitely be doing them again, I’m sure! This time we could pick the layout from ANY of the cards in this selection!

I couldn’t wait to order the Coffee Cafe Bundle in the new Annual Catalog…of course, I’m a BIG Starbucks lover! But, I really LOVE the old-fashioned coffee pots printed in the Designer Paper! I picked the bottom right layout for my 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 square card.

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top of the base card, two 1/2 x 4-1/4 strips of the green stripe Coffee Break DSP were added to the back of a 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 piece of the chevron pattern in Coffee Break DSP, then added to the front.
The greeting from Coffee Cafe Stamp Set was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White, then punched with the 2″ Circle Punch. It was layered on the Starburst Circle punched from Garden Green cardstock.
Some Linen Thread was doubled up and tied in a bow, then added to the circle with a Mini Glue Dot. The circle was popped on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The green coffee pot and cup were hand-cut from the Coffee Break DSP, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Three of the coffee beans were stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White, then hand cut and added to the front.

Saturday Blog Hop – Black & White

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Black & White” designs for their cards this week. With all the beautiful colors of ink and paper that Stampin’ Up! has, it is sometimes nice to go with a sophisticated black and white look…although I think mine turned out more whimsical than sophisticated! lol!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White was embossed with the new Garden Trellis embossing folder across the top portion.
A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper was added to the bottom of the Whisper White, then Black Baker’s Twine wrapped around several times and tied in a bow.
The trio of pens and crafting everyday greeting from Crafting Forever were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a 2 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock and layered on 2-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Basic Black cardstock. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC463 Colorful Seasons

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge! It’s a Case the Catalog challenge again this week!

For my “case the catalog”, I chose to use the layout again this week…along with the delightful Colorful Seasons stamp set. There are just SO many things you can do with this one set! But I especially LOVE the large “just breathe” stamp! Again, so many uses for it…cheer someone up, or just because! This card I think is much prettier than it photographed, too!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Soft Sky, placed slightly on an angle.
Next is a 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Naturally Eclectic Designer Paper on an angle.
A strip of Navy Gingham Ribbon goes across the front and is secured in the back of the Soft Sky layer.
Just breathe was stamped with Night of Navy ink on a 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White, then angled on the front of the card.
The large leaf was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, and the small leave was stamped with Lemon Lime Twist Ink on Whisper White, both were cut with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, a few small Rhinestones were scattered on the front for a little bit of bling!

SUOC177 Star of Light

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Patriotic Colors”. I wanted to use a brand new set, but nothing was inspiring me…then I saw the Christmas set, Star of Light, and decided the stars would work well for my patriotic card this week…either as stars or fireworks! I love when I can use sets for something different than what they were intended!

Here’s my card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/2 strip of Night of Navy cardstock was added across the front with a 1/4 x 5-1/2 strip of Silver Glimmer Paper added on top.
On the 3-3/4 x 3-3/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock, the large star image was stamped with Real Red and Night of Navy Ink. The smaller single star with Real Red Ink a couple times, and the small trio of stars with Night of Navy Ink. It was added to the front.
The base Real Red cardstock also has the trio of stars stamped with Night of Navy Ink in the corners.
Let’s Celebrate from Confetti Celebrations was inked with Real Red and Night of Navy Markers, then stamped on Whisper White and punched with the Pretty Label Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few more stars were added with Night of Navy Ink.
In the center of the stars/fireworks…whatever you think they are…are a couple small Clear Faceted Gems to make them sparkle!

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Pink

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Our Favorite Pink” this week. This challenge was a little harder for me, there are SO many pinks that I love! I went with my new favorite…Berry Burst! But…ask me next week and my favorite might be different! I also used the new stamp set, Oh So Eclectic…such pretty flowers!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Berry Burst cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Fresh Florals Designer Paper was added to the right side of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
The Lemon Lime Twist Woven Ribbon was placed along the edge of the DSP to hide the seam and adhered in the back of the Whisper White.
The flowers were stamped with Berry Burst Ink on Whisper White, the centers with Crushed Curry Ink, and the leaves with Lemon Lime Twist Ink, then all cut with the Eclectic Layers Thinlit Dies.
Oh Hello Friend was stamped with Memento Black on Whisper White and punched with the Pretty Label Punch.
The label, flowers and leaves were added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
