CCMC462 – Pocketful of Sunshine

Edit: OK…who noticed I had the wrong name in the title of my blog???? lol!

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge! It’s a Case the Catalog challenge again this week! I have to admit…my new catalog order sat here for TWO WHOLE DAYS before I opened it! I know! Just too many distractions around the house. But, I finally got to play with some new stuff!

For my “case the catalog”, I chose to use the layout again this week. It turned out pretty fun using the new Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 3 x 4-3/4 panel of Soft Sky cardstock was added on top.
Next a 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Coffee Break Designer Paper was cut with a flag end. Some White Baker’s Twine was wrapped around it and tied in a bow, then added to the front.
To make the “denim” color, I used some Marina Mist cardstock and ran my Night of Navy Ink Pad over top in both directions. Have to do it lightly or you’ll get a blob of color when it sticks to the cardstock! lol!
I stamped the pocket sewing and detail with Early Espresso Ink and cut the pocket from the “denim” with the Pocket Framelit. I folded on the score lines and added it to the front.
Two circle Gold Metallic Enamel Dots topped the corners.
The money was stamped with Garden Green Ink on Old Olive cardstock and cut with the Framelit. The tab was cut from Early Espresso cardstock and added under the pocket.
It’s Your Day from Big On Birthdays was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Soft Sky cardstock, then cut. The coordinating Coffee Break DSP was also cut the same way. Both were adhered to the pocket.

Daisy Delight

I used the wonderful Daisy Delight Bundle for my card today. Along with me, everyone else must have loved it because it is currently out-of-stock at Stampin’ Up! But, hopefully my customers will be able to order it soon!

I followed along with the sketch challenge this week on Freshly Made Sketches FMS291. Loved the simple design! It has been SOOOOOO long since I played along, but I do get their email every week, so not sure what my excuse is! lol!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The Delightful Daisy DSP was cut into two pieces, 1 x 3-1/4 and 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 and adhered to the front with a little space as shown in the sketch.
The daisy from Daisy Delight was stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock (twice), then watercolored with a little Flirty Flamingo Ink over top. Both were punched with the Daisy Punch.
The center was stamped with Tranquil Tide Ink on Whisper White and hand cut out. They were adhered together and added to the front of the card with stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The “hello” greeting from Eastern Beauty stamp set was stamped with Tranquil Tide Ink below the DSP.

That’s it!!! Super simple…with being so disorganized from the move, simple is about the most I can do! lol!

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New In Color

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Our Favorite New In Color” this week. Hands down…my favorite new In Color is Lemon Lime Twist!!! I love the neon greens! In fact, I still have Kiwi Kiss and Lucky Limeade in my collection! So, I was VERY happy to see our new Lemon Lime Twist color!

My dad’s 80th birthday was on June 2nd, so I made this card for him (and lost it for a while in the move!) I thought I was going to have to recreate it. But, then we finally found my box of finished cards…whew! Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White was embossed with the Oh My Stars embossing folder.
A length of Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon was wrapped to the back and adhered.
The Whisper White layer was added to a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Basic Black for a nice border. Then added to the base card.
The number 80 was cut with the Layered Numbers Framelits from Basic Black cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals right above the ribbon.
The dotted balloon was stamped twice with Lucky Lime Twist on Whisper White and the Hooray with Memento Black Ink, then punched with the Balloon Builder Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The strings were hand-drawn with the Basic Black Marker (wished I would have used the fine tip!!!)
Another bit of Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon was tied in a knot, then cut and added as a bow on the strings.

CCMC461 Happy Birthday Gorgeous!

Yeah!!! My FIRST card created in my new home! Wow…it has been a process, for sure! My poor husband has about worn himself out helping me find things buried in the basement! But, I’ve finally found enough stuff that I can make cards again! lol! Still need to order my cabinets, they will take 8 weeks to get installed…and that is on an expedited schedule!

But, it’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge! It’s a Case the Catalog challenge again this week!

I chose to use the layout as my inspiration this week! The new Powder Pink In Color is so soft and pretty!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Powder Pink, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The open scroll flower from Happy Birthday Gorgeous was stamped with Powder Pink Ink randomly in the background. I also used the speckles from Timeless Texture stamp set.
A 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Powder Pink Fresh Florals was added to the front, with a 1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Fresh Fig Cardstock partially behind it. A 1/4 x 5 strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper was placed across the front.
It’s Your Day from Happy Birthday Gorgeous was stamped with Fresh Fig Ink on Whisper White and punched with the new Pretty Label Punch.
Another flower was stamped with Powder Pink Ink on Powder Pink cardstock, then cut out. Two leaves were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist Ink on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and cut out. They were added to the front of the label.

SUOC176 Colorful Seasons

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Out in the Garden”. Love the Colorful Seasons stamp set because of all the seasons represented. And, when I think of a garden, I think of a nice chair and beautiful flowers. I combined both on my card and used the new In Color, Berry Burst! My Stamp Clubs loved this card last month!

Here’s my card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Berry Burst cardstock, a 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Fresh Florals DSP was adhered along the bottom.
On the 3 x 4 piece of Whisper White, the tree limb from Colorful Seasons was stamped in Early Espresso Ink and the flowers in Berry Burst Ink.
The greeting from Colorful Seasons was stamped with Early Espresso Ink towards the left side.
The chair was cut with the Thinlet from Early Espresso cardstock and added to the front.
The drink was stamped with Berry Burst next to the chair.

That’s it!!! SUPER simple, but yet love the look! What can you do with the Out in the Garden theme? We love to see! And don’t forget to check out what the rest of the Design Team for SUO Challenges did this week with this theme! I’m sure they will have some great ideas!

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Color Blue

But, it’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Our Favorite Blue Color” this week. Although I’m certainly not wishing the summer away, I do LOVE Soft Sky and it naturally pairs with snowflakes. While this card layout isn’t terribly creative (remember, I’m in the middle of a move!), I did use the pretty snowflakes in the Seasonal Layers Thinlets and one of the new embossing folders, Oh My Stars. I felt they resembled snowflakes, too!

Here are the details on this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The top half of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky was embossed with the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder.
At the bottom, the greeting from Flurry of Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The snowflakes from Seasonal Layers Thinlets were cut from Whisper White cardstock, covered with Clear Wink of Stella, and added to the front of the card.
Rhinestone jewels were added to the centers.

CCMC460 Crafting Forever

Whew!!!! We officially made it through the MOVE part, but now are trying to find things! Not a good experience with the movers…apparently they couldn’t read…some things in the basement belong upstairs, some in the garage go downstairs, remotes/cords for TVs all jumbled up. I had everything MARKED!!! Took them over 14 hours…unbelievable! But, I JUST found my camera late Wednesday night! For a company that came highly recommended by several people, I would be wary of recommending them to anyone!

But…it’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! This month’s challenges are a little different. Since Mary and I were both busy with moves, we decided to “Case the Catalog”. Here’s this week’s inspiration. Could use the color combination OR the layout…whichever you preferred…and each of us did a little something different! I used the Colors represented in the catalog photo:

Anyway…here’s my card. I’m finally getting it uploaded at the last minute!

I had a little fun with angles on this card!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sky cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
I cut a piece of Whisper White at 3 x 3, then angled the sides to a finish of 2-1/2 at the bottom (if that makes any sense). I stamped the container of brushes from Crafting Forever with Early Espresso Ink, then carefully watercolored with Crumb Cake, Garden Green and Soft Sky as represented in the catalog photo.
I also stamped the scissors from Crafting Forever with Early Espresso and watercolored them also.
I added a little trim of Garden Green cardstock along the left edge and a 1/2 x 4-1/4 strip of Early Espresso across the front.
I popped up both the angled piece and the scissors off the base Soft Sky cardstock.
The greeting from Crafting Forever was stamped with Early Espresso.

Saturday Blog Hop – Hello Summer

At this time, I’m finally moving into our new home! The appliances are supposed to be installed today. I’m glad to see there is an end in sight. My studio, however, won’t be ready for a couple more months! I’ll be working out of boxes for a while until my cabinets get installed.

But, it’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Hello Summer” this week. It’s my most favorite time of the year! One thing I love about summer is the bright green leaves and relaxing by reading a book! I combined both of these in my card this week!

Here are the details on this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White, the tree trunk from Sheltering Tree is stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink, the leaves were stamped with both Tranquil Tide and Emerald Envy (very subtle difference).
The ground was stamped with Emerald Envy Ink, then the blades of grass with Tranquil Tide Ink.
The chair from Colorful Seasons stamp set was stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink in the foreground, then the seat with Berry Burst Ink on scrap Whisper White. It was cut out and placed in the chair frame.
Thinking of you from Colorful Seasons stamp set was stamped with Berry Burst Ink.
A Sahara Sand Marker and AquaPainter added a little shadow under the tree.
