Creatively Simple 11 – Thankful

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Thankful” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!  It’s SO appropriate for this time of year!

I haven’t used these Pierced Blooms Dies since they came out in the Jan-June catalog earlier this year!  I LOVE the stitched blossoms and leaves.  I was looking for something that could make sunflowers for fall and these dies worked perfectly!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 3 x 4-1/4 piece of In Good Taste Designer Paper was added to a3-1/8 x 4-3/8 piece of Early Espresso cardstock, then added to the front on a diagonal.
  • Three of the spiked flowers were cut with the Pierced Blooms Dies from Crushed Curry cardstock, the centers from Early Espresso cardstock, and the leaves from Old Olive cardstock.  They were assembled on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The label from Pierced Blooms Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock, then stamped with the Peaceful Moments stamp set greeting in Old Olive Ink.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Brushed Metallic Dots were added to the center of the flowers.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a pretty tablescape using USA’s patriotic colors!  Those of you who get the 4th of July holiday off work today…I hope you are enjoying your long weekend!

 

IN BLOOM BUNDLE

The In Bloom Bundle remains one of my all time favorite floral sets….mainly because of all those stitched flowers and leaves dies!  So happy that it remains in the catalog for another year!  I grabbed it to make my bouquet, along with the Mason Jar Punch for my vase!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pacific Point cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Tasteful Textures Embossing Folder.
    • A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of In Good Taste Designer Paper was added to the bottom for the “table”.
    • The mason jar was punched from Pacific Point cardstock and embossed with the Dots Embossing Folder, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Using the Pierced Blooms Dies, the larger flowers were cut from Basic White, the smaller flowers from Real Red, the leaf clusters from Pear Pizzazz, and the smaller leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstocks.  All were assembled and added to the vase with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • The bow was made from doubled Linen Thread tied in a bow and added with a Mini Glue Dot.
    • The greeting from In Bloom stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Basic White, then punched with the Double Oval Punch.
    • Some yellow Holiday Rhinestones were added to the center of the larger flowers and Basic Rhinestones were added to the smaller flowers.

Saturday Blog Hop – “Nights in White Satin”

This month we will be using song titles for our inspiration.  This week’s blog hop theme is “Nights in White Satin” sung by The Moody Blues!  We will be making cards that are predominately white!  I admit I’m slightly obsessed with the Pierced Blooms Dies…I just love the stitching on them!  So, I used this set once again!

IN BLOOM STAMPS & PIERCED BLOOMS DIES

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was cut with the Stitched Whimsy Dies.
  • The greeting from In Bloom stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
  • A variety of Pierced Blooms flowers and leaves were cut from Basic White cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Pearl embellishments were added to the centers and background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Spring Flowers

This week’s blog hop theme is Spring Flowers…should be pretty easy, right?  Stampin’ Up! has a wide variety of floral stamp sets!  I have to say I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Pierced Blooms Dies again!  They are just so gorgeous with their stitching!  I kept this one very simple.

PIERCED BLOOMS

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Granny Apple Green.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Fine Art Floral Designer Paper was added on top.
  • The tag in the Pierced Blooms Die was cut from Basic White cardstock, then stamped with the greeting in Springtime Joy with Memento Black Ink.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The flower was cut from Magenta Madness with the Pierced Blooms Die, the center from Daffodil Delight and the leaves from Granny Apple Green.
  • Some White Baker’s Twine was tied in a bow and added to the leaves with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • A trio of Magenta Madness In Color Enamel Dots were added to the background.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a fun floral pillow to inspire us!  I thought the flowers looked a lot like the ones in the Pierced Blooms Dies!

 

PIERCED BLOOMS DIES

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Very Vanilla, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped at the bottom with the In Bloom greeting in Bermuda Bay.
    • A 1-1/2 x 3-7/8 piece of Snail Mail Designer Paper was added across the front.
    • The large flowers were cut with the Pierced Blooms Dies from Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose and Coastal Cabana cardstocks, the centers with Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The small flowers were cut with the Pierced Blooms Dies from Coastal Cabana and Real Red and the tiny flower centers from Blushing Bride cardstock.
    • The leaves were cut with the Pierced Blooms Dies from Pear Pizzazz cardstock.
    • All were layered on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the tiny flower centers.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have some FUN floral jewelry pieces to inspire us!

 

IN BLOOM BUNDLE

I am absolutely IN LOVE with the Pierced Blooms Dies that go along with the In Bloom stamp set!  The detail on them is gorgeous!  And, they are a perfect match for today’s challenge, aren’t they?

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Blushing Bride cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • A 3-1/4 x 5 piece of Peony Garden Designer Paper was added on top.
    • A 1/2 x 5-1/2 strip of Basic White cardstock was added down the left side.
    • The greeting was stamped with Night of Navy on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the label in the Pierced Blooms Dies and added to the front.
    • The flowers were cut from Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Basic White cardstocks and the leaves from Night of Navy cardstock with the Pierced Blooms Dies and stacked together with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front.
    • Midnight Muse Enamel Dots are in the center of the larger flowers and Basic Rhinestones in the small flowers in the background.

Hello again!  It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!  This time it is an unusual sketch!

IN BLOOM

I decided to use my In Bloom Stamp set with Pierced Blooms Dies…actually, I only used the stamp set for the greeting because the dies are SO gorgeous with all the stitching on them!  Since the sketch really called for it, I used made a square card…haven’t done that in a while!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5 x 10 Soft Sea Foam cardstock, scored at 5 and folded.
  • On top is a 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock.
  • The 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Rococo Rose cardstock was embossed with the Old World Paper embossing folder, then added to the front.
  • A 3″ square of Paper Blooms Designer Paper (FREE SAB!) was cut in half diagonally, then added to the front of the card with points meeting in the center.
  • The Stitched Shape large Circle was cut from Basic White cardstock and adhered in the center.
  • The blooms were cut from Rococo Rose, Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight, and the leaves from Soft Sea Foam cardstocks with the Pierced Blooms Dies, then arranged on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A 1/2 x 3-3/4 strip of Garden Green was added over the circle.
  • The greeting from In Bloom stamp set was stamped with Memento Black on a 3/4 x 2 piece of Basic White with Memento Black Ink.
  • A trio of Pastel Pearls were added to the background.
