Saturday Blog Hop – Winter

SNOWMAN PUNCH ART

This week on Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop our theme is Winter – snowman, snowflakes or winter sports! While I love the Spirited Snowman stamp set and it would have been perfect to use, I also love to do punch art…so I created my snowman punch art!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Joyous Noel (unfortunately has sold out) in the snowflake pattern was added on top of the base card.
A 3 x 4 piece of Whisper White cardstock was torn across the top and added to the bottom in two layers.
The snowman was punch from Whisper White cardstock with the 1-1/4, 1-1/2, and 2″ Circle Punches. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The hat is a 1-1/4 square from Basic Black cardstock that has been angled along the sides, and the brim is the Classic Label trimmed down. A 1/8 strip of Copper Foil Paper was added for the trim.
The scarf is a piece of Copper Trim tucked under the circles with a Mini Glue Dot.
The arms are the Sprig Punch punched from Early Espresso cardstock.
The nose is a sliver of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The eyes and buttons are 1/4″ punched circles from Basic Black and the mouth was drawn with a marker.
I used the Pool Party Blends along the edges of the snowbanks and the snowman body, along with some Wink of Stella.
Let it Snow from Alpine Adventures was stamped with Cherry Cobbler on Crumb Cake and then punched with the Christmas Traditions Punch (ON SALE RIGHT NOW AT 40% off!!!)

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Christmas Stamp Set

This week on Create with Connie and Mary our theme is Favorite Christmas Stamp Set cards! Of course, I went with the one that I saw IMMEDIATELY in the catalog and knew I had to have…Spirited Snowmen! I’ve mentioned before that snowmen and snowflakes are always a feature on my Christmas cards. I think this one is a winner for my Christmas card this year…although there will be a lot of cutting out that snowman watching my TV shows! loll!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party, Merry Christmas from Warm Hearted Stamp Set (Host) was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink in the upper right corner, then it was embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
A 3 x 4 piece of Whisper White was turn around the top to resemble a snowbank, with some Wink of Stella added along the top and for additional snowbanks.
Then a piece of Coastal Cabana was torn in a rough oval to form the ice pond. It is covered with Wink of Stella for some glassy sparkle!
The snowman in Spirited Snowmen stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White, then colored with Poppy Parade, Bermuda Bay, Bronze, Smoky Slate and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. It was cut out and added to the front. Some Wink of Stella was also applied to the white areas of the snowman.

Isn’t this SUPER cute! I think so! CCMC479 Seasonal Chums

It’s Thursday! And that is time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Surprise! I used the following color challenge to make a winter card! At first glance, winter wouldn’t be my guess to use…but I think it worked out great!

Here’s my card. I did use Soft Sky predominately and the two greens as accents…but it works, right?

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Soft Sky was embossed with the Snowflake Embossing Folder in the upper left corner. A strip of torn Whisper White cardstock was added to the bottom for a snowbank.
The Seasonal Chums snowman was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and colored with Soft Sky, Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Markers. Also a little Smoky Slate Marker for his hat and rabbit, Pumpkin Pie Marker for his nose and Real Red Marker for the berries. He was cut out using the Seasonal Tags Framelits and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front.
Two snowflakes from the Seasonal Tags Framelits were cut from Whisper White and added in the background with Clear Faceted Gems in the center for a little bling.
Finally, Merry Christmas from Seasonal Chums stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the snowbank.

Snow Friends & Tin of Tags

Merry Christmas!

Here’s my Christmas card for this year, I made about 60 of them! Again, I went with a Crumb Cake and Real Red combination…it just goes so well with the white Snowman! And I always do a snowman or snowflake theme every year! I wanted a more modern, stylized snowman look for my card this year and I think I accomplished that! I had about 4 versions before I settled on this one.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
Stamp the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock with the greeting from Tin of Tags with Real Red Ink, and then emboss with the Snow Flurry Embossing Folder.
Cut a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, then cut it in half lengthwise with a curvy pattern so you get two pieces approx 3/4 x 4. Adhere one to the bottom of the Crumb Cake cardstock.
Cut the Snow Friends Framelit from Whisper White, the hat from Basic Black and adhere to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Punch the heart with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch from Red Glimmer Paper and adhere on snowman.
Cut a 1/8″ strip of Red Glimmer Paper, add to hat and trim off excess.

SUOC164 Stitched with Cheer

Wow…the week of Christmas! Can you believe it? I’ve lost all track of time with my dad being in the hospital…running there every day really can eat into your time! I’m thankful that my Stampin’ Up! business is so flexible that I can take the time I need to right now to focus on my family. But…that isn’t getting my cookies made or the presents wrapped! Oh well…what gets done, gets done, right?

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is projects that feature Ovals, Circles and Squares! Pretty easy, theme…right? Well, my mind was going in a ton of different directions! Finally I went with this cute snowman. I did a tag class a couple years ago with the snowman as a circle…I incorporated that idea with Stampin’ Up!’s new Stitched Shapes Framelits and matched it with the Stitched with Cheer Stamp Set greeting!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sky cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White was embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
At the bottom a 2 x 4 piece of Soft Sky was torn for the ground.
The snowman was cut with the largest circle Stitched Shapes Framelit from Whisper White cardstock.
The scarf was a 1/4″ strip cut on a curve from This Christmas Designer Paper.
The mittens were punched from the This Christmas DSP and the boots from Basic Black cardstock with the Cookie Builder Punch.
The eyes and buttons were punched from Basic Black cardstock with the small circle on the Cookie Builder Punch.
The nose is the small star punched from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
The hat is cut from Snow Friends Framelit from Basic Black cardstock with a small 1/8″ strip of DSP on it.
The cheeks were colored with an AquaPainter and Blushing Bride Marker.
The greeting from Stitched with Cheer stamp set (that set is SO worth the money just for the greetings!) in Cherry Cobbler Ink.
The snowman was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, some Clear Wink of Stella was added to the ground for some sparkle.

SUOC139 Wintertime

I’m so glad the theme this week on SUO Challenges is Wintertime because I realized that I hadn’t posted my personal Christmas Card for this year! The only difference between mine and this one is the greeting…I did use the Sending you a Flurry of Warm Christmas Wishes from Flurry of Wishes stamp set on mine. For this challenge, I switched it out to the Let it Snow greeting in Snow Place! Isn’t my snowman cute? Everyone liked him!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cherry Cobbler, folded in half.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Smoky Slate was embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and adhered to the front.
The snowman was cut with the 1-3/4 and 2-1/2 Circle Punches from Whisper White. The buttons were from Snow Place stamp set and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
The scarf is a 1/4 x 4-1/2″ strip of Merry Moments DSP, cut with two tails.
The snowflake from Flurry of Wishes was stamped with Real Red and punched with the Snow Flurry Punch and added to the scarf with a Stampin’ Dimensionals. Also has a rhinestone in the center.
The eyes are 1/4″ Basic Black cardstock circles highlighted with the White Gel Pen.
The nose is the tip of the Tree Punch from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
The hat is a 1″ square of Basic Black trimmed and 1/8″ strips of Basic Black for the brim and Merry Moments DSP for the hat band. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, too.
Finally, Let it Snow from Snow Place was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Snowman favors

Merry Christmas Eve! I didn’t think that I’d be posting again before Christmas, but remembered I didn’t show this photo of the Snow Place favors I made. I’m sure you’ve seen them around…they were popular for craft fairs this year. I’m not sure who had the original idea, my stamp club members LOVED making them last month, too! After seeing one, my husband commissioned me to make a bunch for his friends at the office. I’ve also made some for friends and to have on the plates for Christmas dinner! Here’s the first batch!

Don’t they look cute all lined up? Here’s a closeup. I used the Snow Place stamp set for the scarf and hat. The “tray” is 3 x 4, scored at 1/2, 1, 2 and 2-1/2 lengthwise. I used mini glue dots to hold the wrapped Hershey nuggets in place (1 x 3 strip of cardstock wraps them). The bags are pretzel bags found in the cake making supply area. The buttons are 1/4″ circles punched from Black Glimmer Paper.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Gift Card Holder

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is Christmas Gift Card Holders! I love giving a gift card or certificate in something special. This pocket holder for Stampin’ Up!’s gift certificates are my favorite to make! Of course, I’m using the Snow Friends framelits…even looks cute without the stamp set! I was inspired by a card that Janet Wakeland made using just the cut out snowman shape!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock and scored at 1-1/4 and 4-1/4. The corners are rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch.
A 2-1/4 x 5 piece of Merry Moments Designer Paper is adhered to the bottom portion under the flap.
The pocket is formed by added Tear and Tape Adhesive to the insides and then adhering the flap to the front.
The Cherry Cobbler piece is cut 2 x 4, then punched with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch and tied with some Silver Cording in a bow. It is added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, making sure not to adhere to the back of the pocket.
A small Silver Metallic Doily is added to the front of the tag.
The large snowman from Snow Friends Framelits was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and added to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Jolly from Christmas Greetings Thinlets was added on top of the snowman with Tombow Monoadhesive Glue.
A green Home For Christmas Enamel Dot was placed on the top hat cut from Basic Black cardstock.
Finally, the greeting from Embellished Ornaments was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink on the flap of the pocket.

I think my customers who buy gift certificates this month will LOVE this holder, don’t you?
