Saturday Blog Hop – Say Hello to SAB

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Saying Hello to SAB”.  It’s that favorite Stampin’ Up! time of year!  FREE products with purchase!

DETAILED DOGWOOD

This stamp set is a Level 2 SAB selection.  My mom loves dogwood trees, so I grabbed it first thing on my order so I could make a few cards for her.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder, then cut into five 1 x 5 strips and adhered to the front of the base card for a shiplap look.
  • The dogwood branch was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Soft Sea Foam Combo, Light Lemon Lime Twist, Bubble Bath Combo, Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Very Best Occasions was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink and cut with the Nested Essentials Die.
  • Some Linen Thread was wrapped into circles and adhered behind the greeting, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added in the background.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.   We have a fun sketch for you to try this week!

FLIGHT & AIRY DESIGNER PAPER

I think the Flight & Airy DSP is so pretty with the watercolor images of birds, flowers and branches so I let it do ALL the heavy lifting on this card!  Only the greeting is stamped!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Boho Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 strip of Flight & Airy Pecan Pie grid DSP is added across the front towards the top.
  • Next a 2-3/4 x 4 small bird print in Flight & Airy DSP was added to a 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock on an angle, then added to the front.
  • The 3/4 x 3-1/4 Fresh Freesia watercolor print in Flight & Airy DSP was added over it.
  • One of the small birds on a branch and flowers was cut from the DSP and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Linen Thread was wrapped several times in a loop, then added to the tail of the bird.
  • The greeting from Perennial Postage Stamp Set was stamped with Boho Blue Ink on a 1/2 x 2-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.

CS122 – Thoughtful Expressions

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “NEW” cards…let’s use some of the new products in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog and SAB Catalog on our cards!

WONDERFUL EXPRESSIONS

This card looks fancy, but other than a little coloring, it is SO easy to pull together!  Don’t you love that background embossing?

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was embossed with the new Layered Florals Embossing Folder and added to the front.
  • A 1 x 4 strip of Flight & Airy Designer Paper (SAB) was cut with a flag end, then added to the front.
  • The medallion from the Thoughtful Expressions Dies was cut from Pool Party cardstock and stamped with the Thoughtful Expressions greeting in Lost Lagoon Ink.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The flower was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and colored with Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly, Lost Lagoon and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Iridescent Foil Gems were added to the center of the flowers and medallion.

Happy New Year to everyone!!!  Did you make any resolutions this year?  I know I have a couple challenging ones to fulfill this year! Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s challenge is some fun watermelon pottery pieces!

 

WATERCOLOR MELONs

Of course…I had to use the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Watercolor Melons, for today’s challenge!  I went with bright Poppy Parade and Parakeet Party colors for mine!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • A polka dot Poppy Parade 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 Brights 6×6 DSP was wrapped with tied Black & White Gingham Ribbon and added to the top left corner.
    • The 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 square of Basic Black was adhered behind the 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock in the upper left corner.  The greeting from Ice Cream Swirl is stamped with Poppy Parade Ink in the upper right corner.
    • The full watermelon image was stamped with Garden Green Ink on Parakeet Party cardstock and punched with the Modern Oval Punch.
    • The watermelon slice was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink and Garden Green rind on Basic White cardstock, the rind colored with Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends for a little more color.  The seeds were stamped with Memento Black Ink.  It was hand-cut.
    • The leaf was stamped with Garden Green ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut.
    • All were assembled on the front of the Basic White panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A trio of black Sparkle Dots were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Bringing in the New Year

We’re back!  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Bringing in the New Year”!  No big plans for us…we keep it low key!  Will go to friends’ house for appetizers and to play cards!  I used one of the new mini sets, Cutest Cows, to bring in my new year!  TOO cute!

CUTEST COWS

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Winter Meadow Designer Paper was added on top (glad this DSP is carrying over!)
  • The 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was torn across the top for the snowbank.
  • The cow body, head and bell were stamped with Memento Black Ink.  The cow was punched with the Cutest Cows Punch.  The spots were colored with Light Gray Granite and Light Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends.  It was added to the snowbank with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The bell was colored with Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut and added to the cow’s neck.
  • The New Year greeting from Brightest Glow was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on scrap Basic White and the What’s Moo with You greeting in Real Red on scrap Basic White cardstock.  They were cut around the letters, then added to a 1-1/2 x 1-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock cut with a banner bottom.
  • A 1 x 1-1/2 piece of Real Red cardstock was layered under the banner and cut with a banner end, too.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Adhesive Backed Snowflakes Assortment (Online Exclusive) were added to the background.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Welcome back!  Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to celebrating a NEW YEAR!  This week we have a pretty color combination!

PLANTED PARADISE

I’ve been thinking that several of the images in the new Planted Paradise Stamp set could be combined for flowers!  Here’s my first go at it…I’m sure I’ll be making many more!  I really like these stylized images!  This one was made into a pretty poinsettia!

 

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pecan Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the Throughout the Year (carryover to online exclusive!) greeting in Pecan Pie…so easy to change to a birthday or get well if you want!
  • The 2 x 4 piece of Glorious Gingham Designer Paper was added along the bottom.
  • A 1/4 x 4 strip of More Dazzled Specialty DSP was added to hide the seam.
  • The flower trio image was stamped three times on Basic White cardstock with Cherry Cobbler Ink and hand-cut.  The small leaf was stamped three times in Old Olive Ink and hand-cut.  They were combined and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the center.

CS121 – Snow Crystal

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Winter” cards!

SNOW CRYSTAL

This is a take-off of my Christmas cards this year!  I made coordinating thank-you cards to send after Christmas.  This one is super simple, but still elegant!  And, as anyone who knows me…I don’t really mean the greeting on here…no snow after Christmas for me!  lol!  But it is a nice winter greeting for today’s theme!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The large Snow Crystal image was inked with Coastal Cabana Ink and stamped partially off the left side.  The smaller Sparkling Snowflakes image were stamped with Pool Party Ink in the background.
  • Some speckle was stamped with White Craft Ink randomly around the background, too.
  • A 1 x 4 strip of Smoky Slate cardstock was stamped with the greeting from Sparkling Snowflakes in Memento Black Ink and added to the front.
  • A white Faceted Gem Trio Pack was added to the center of the large snowflake for a little bling.

Merry Christmas to everyone!  Many blessings to you all!  Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  We have a holiday cake to inspire you!

 

PLANTED PARADISE

For today’s celebration, I’m using a NEW set from the Jan-April 2024 Mini Catalog…can you guess which one?  It’s definitely not a Christmas set…but I thought it made great ornaments to go with our fancy cake today!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder and added to the front.
    • A 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Joy of Christmas Designer Paper was added to the front.
    • The planter from Planted Paradise Stamp Set was stamped with Real Red on Very Vanilla and stamped with Versamark on Very Vanilla, then gold embossed.  The tops were planters turned upside down and stamped with Smoky Slate Ink.  All were hand-cut, adhered together, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Joy from Brightest Glow Stamp Set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Very Vanilla, then hand-cut and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Three snowflakes from the Wishes All Around Dies were cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Iridescent Pearls were added to the centers of the snowflakes.
    • Some gold Simply Elegant Trim were tied in a bow and added to each of the ornament tops.
