Saturday Blog Hop – Bringing in the New Year

We’re back!  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Bringing in the New Year”!  No big plans for us…we keep it low key!  Will go to friends’ house for appetizers and to play cards!  I used one of the new mini sets, Cutest Cows, to bring in my new year!  TOO cute!

CUTEST COWS

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Winter Meadow Designer Paper was added on top (glad this DSP is carrying over!)
  • The 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was torn across the top for the snowbank.
  • The cow body, head and bell were stamped with Memento Black Ink.  The cow was punched with the Cutest Cows Punch.  The spots were colored with Light Gray Granite and Light Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends.  It was added to the snowbank with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The bell was colored with Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut and added to the cow’s neck.
  • The New Year greeting from Brightest Glow was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink on scrap Basic White and the What’s Moo with You greeting in Real Red on scrap Basic White cardstock.  They were cut around the letters, then added to a 1-1/2 x 1-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock cut with a banner bottom.
  • A 1 x 1-1/2 piece of Real Red cardstock was layered under the banner and cut with a banner end, too.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Adhesive Backed Snowflakes Assortment (Online Exclusive) were added to the background.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Welcome back!  Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to celebrating a NEW YEAR!  This week we have a pretty color combination!

PLANTED PARADISE

I’ve been thinking that several of the images in the new Planted Paradise Stamp set could be combined for flowers!  Here’s my first go at it…I’m sure I’ll be making many more!  I really like these stylized images!  This one was made into a pretty poinsettia!

 

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pecan Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the Throughout the Year (carryover to online exclusive!) greeting in Pecan Pie…so easy to change to a birthday or get well if you want!
  • The 2 x 4 piece of Glorious Gingham Designer Paper was added along the bottom.
  • A 1/4 x 4 strip of More Dazzled Specialty DSP was added to hide the seam.
  • The flower trio image was stamped three times on Basic White cardstock with Cherry Cobbler Ink and hand-cut.  The small leaf was stamped three times in Old Olive Ink and hand-cut.  They were combined and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the center.

CS121 – Snow Crystal

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Winter” cards!

SNOW CRYSTAL

This is a take-off of my Christmas cards this year!  I made coordinating thank-you cards to send after Christmas.  This one is super simple, but still elegant!  And, as anyone who knows me…I don’t really mean the greeting on here…no snow after Christmas for me!  lol!  But it is a nice winter greeting for today’s theme!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The large Snow Crystal image was inked with Coastal Cabana Ink and stamped partially off the left side.  The smaller Sparkling Snowflakes image were stamped with Pool Party Ink in the background.
  • Some speckle was stamped with White Craft Ink randomly around the background, too.
  • A 1 x 4 strip of Smoky Slate cardstock was stamped with the greeting from Sparkling Snowflakes in Memento Black Ink and added to the front.
  • A white Faceted Gem Trio Pack was added to the center of the large snowflake for a little bling.

 

 

SUPER simple and a nice thank you card!  Would be easy to change out the greeting for a birthday, winter anniversary or even sympathy card!  Check out Mary’s Creatively Simple card over on Create with Connie and Mary!

IM310 – Planted Paradise

Merry Christmas to everyone!  Many blessings to you all!  Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  We have a holiday cake to inspire you!

 

PLANTED PARADISE

For today’s celebration, I’m using a NEW set from the Jan-April 2024 Mini Catalog…can you guess which one?  It’s definitely not a Christmas set…but I thought it made great ornaments to go with our fancy cake today!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder and added to the front.
    • A 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Joy of Christmas Designer Paper was added to the front.
    • The planter from Planted Paradise Stamp Set was stamped with Real Red on Very Vanilla and stamped with Versamark on Very Vanilla, then gold embossed.  The tops were planters turned upside down and stamped with Smoky Slate Ink.  All were hand-cut, adhered together, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Joy from Brightest Glow Stamp Set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Very Vanilla, then hand-cut and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Three snowflakes from the Wishes All Around Dies were cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Iridescent Pearls were added to the centers of the snowflakes.
    • Some gold Simply Elegant Trim were tied in a bow and added to each of the ornament tops.

CS120 – Magical Meadow

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Winter” cards!

MAGICAL MEADOW

Here’s another winter card that is totally suitable for a birthday card!  I love this Winter Meadow Designer Paper!  These watercolor trees are especially pretty!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Orchid Oasis cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 3-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Winter Meadow DSP was adhered down the center.
  • A 2 x 4 piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock was punched with the Sparkling Snowflakes Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Magical Meadow greeting was stamped with Orchid Oasis Ink on Basis White and the tree line stamped off with Orchid Oasis Ink under it.  It was punched with the Modern Oval Punch, some folded Silver & White Sheer Ribbon added behind it, then added to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of 2022-24 In Color Pearls were added to the oval and the background.

IM311 – Joy of Noel

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  We have a rustic holiday Noel sign to inspire you!

 

JOY OF NOEL

I love the Joy of Noel dies…they really can stand by themselves without stamping which is what I did here!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pretty Peacock cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
    • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Gray Granite cardstock was added on top.
    • Two 1/2 x 5-1/4 strips of Earthen Textures DSP were added to the top and bottom of a 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Earthen Textures DSP, then added to the front.
    • Two greenery branches and NOEL were cut with the Joy of Noel Dies from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Three large red gems from Loose Holly Gems and Sequins were added to the greenery.

THOUGHTFUL EXPRESSIONS

Yeah!  The new Mini Catalog has been released for demonstrator preorder!  I thought the flower in this stamp set would work great with this sketch.  And I paired it with the Flight & Airy Designer Paper which is a Sale-A-Bration option!  Get it free when you buy this bundle!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 2-1/4 x 5 piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock was added to the center.
  • The greeting from Thoughtful Expressions was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.
  • Three 1 x 4 strips of Flight & Airy DSP were added at angles.
  • The 2 x 3 panel of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the flower in Memento Black Ink, the colored with Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Lost Lagoon and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Opaque Faceted Gems were added to the center of the flowers for a little bling!

CS119 – Sparkling Snowflakes

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Winter”!

SPARKLING SNOWFLAKES

When you live in Ohio, snow is just a routine part of the winter months.  I try to escape it whenever I can!  lol!  But I did love this pretty snowflake card that is quick and simple to make and has so much glittery fun!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Coastal Cabana cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White has been cut at an angle, then embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder and adhered to the front.
  • Let it Snow from Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set was stamped in the bottom corner with Memento Black Ink.
  • The small snowflake from was stamped with Pool Party Ink surrounding the greeting.
  • The large snowflake was stamped with Coastal Cabana Ink on Basic White cardstock and punched with the 2″ Circle Punch (Online Exclusive).
  • The Decorative Circle was punched from Pool Party cardstock and the circle added on top.
  • Some White Glittered Ribbon was added behind the Decorative Circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added to the front.
  • Some Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the large snowflake and three in the background.
