Creatively Simple 41 – Sweetest Cherries

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “GREETINGS”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

I’ve used the Sweetest Cherries Stamp Set and Build a Cherry Punch for day’s Creatively Simple card. The background die is called Spit Card Textures and gives it SO much depth! Punching the cherries and leaves make it pretty quick, too!

SWEETEST CHERRIES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was cut with the Split Card Textures Die, then adhered to the front.
Sweet from Sweet Cherries Stamp Set was stamped with Garden Green Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock, then hand-cut around the letters and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Birthday Wishes from Sweet Cherries Stamp Set was stamped with Sweet Sorbet Ink under the Sweet greeting.
Using the Build a Cherry Punch, two cherries were punched from Sweet Sorbet cardstock, two stems from Early Espresso cardstock, three leaves from Parakeet Party cardstock.
The leaves were also stamped with the leaf veins in Garden Green Ink.
All were assembled on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two small Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the punched cherries to finish it off.

Happy Monday and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! Aren’t these bird cookies just TOO darling for words? I sure wish I could decorate cookies like that! Wouldn’t they be a fun birthday treat?

SWEET SONGBIRDS

Well, Sweet Songbirds was obviously the stamp set to use for today’s challenge! Made it pretty easy! Next, I saw a card done by Laura Milligan that inspired MY card. I changed it up to make it my own, but I love the rectangle background die she used!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock was cut with the Picture This rectangle Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (Save those rectangles for another project!)
- The large bird from Sweet Songbirds was stamped with So Saffron Ink, the eyes with Memento Black, and the wing with Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Songbird Builder Punch.
- The small bird from Sweet Songbirds was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink, the eyes with Memento Black, and the wing with So Saffron Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut.
- The two beaks were punched from Mango Melody cardstock with the punch and adhered.
- The nest was stamped with Crumb Cake Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and hand-cut. The tree branch was stamped with Crumb Cake and the leaves with Old Olive Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added to the front.
- The greetings and notes were stamped with Memento Black Ink in the rectangle openings.
- A trio of Polished Dots were added to the background.

SO, it’s my day to celebrate and I’m SOOO happy with how this card turned out! I have to remember to use this background die more often! OK…check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Monday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Saturday Blog Hop – “Green Eyed Lady”

This month our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hops will feature songs with colors in them! This week’s song is “Green Eyed Lady” by Sugarloaf. We are using shades of green on our cards!

TREASURED KINDNESS

This is the first time I’ve used my new Treasured Kindness Stamp Set and I really like how this turned out! The Artfully Composed Designer Paper is retiring at the end of the month, so make sure you grab some before it goes away! I thought the two-tone green stripe was perfect for this design.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Artfully Composed Designer Paper was adhered to the right side of the base card.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was cut with the curve Border Basics Die. The Treasured Kindness stamps were used to stamp the ground in Mossy Meadow Ink, the tree trunk in Early Espresso Ink, the leaves in both Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Inks, the greeting in Early Espresso Ink.
A trio of Rustic Dots were added to the background.

CCMC719 – He’s All That

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week is a really fun sketch. I’ll be using this one again!

HE’S ALL THAT

These greetings in the He’s All That are fun to use and coordinate with the All That Dies! It’s a great masculine set! I also love this camping print and VW bus image, so combined them on my card for today!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mint Macaron cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 3-1/4 x 5 piece of He’s The Man Designer Paper camping print was added to a 3-1/2 x 5-1/4 Early Espresso cardstock and added towards the left side.
A 1-1/2 x 3-1/4 piece of the Early Espresso plaid was added towards the bottom.
A 1-3/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
The Together for the Long Haul image was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Mint Macaron cardstock, colored with the Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the scallop circle in the All That Dies. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A 1/2 x 2-1/2 piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock was added across the front.
A trio of Brushed Metallic Dots were added at the top.

I think this will be perfect for my son’s anniversary card! They like the outdoors and it’s coming up at the end of June! OK, go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Creatively Simple 40 – He’s All That

Even though this card looks a little more complicated, it really is SO simple! There is NO stamping on it! The greeting is actually a die-cut from the He’s The Man Designer Paper…just punch it out and it is ready to go! I combined it with a couple other dies to finish it off.

HE’S THE MAN

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 2-3/4 x 4 piece of He’s All That Designer Paper was added along the bottom of the base card.
The 4 x 4-3/4 piece of Sahara Sand cardstock with cut along the bottom with the Basic Borders die, off-set, then added to the front.
The label was cut from Cajun Craze cardstock using the All That Die and adhered on front.
The die-cut from the He’s All That DSP was added over the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Rustic Dots were added to the background.

IM231 – Seas the Day

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! The colors on this pile of fruity sweets are TOO cute!

SEAS THE DAY

Seas the Day is one of the Bundles in the Jan-June Mini Catalog that is retiring and that makes me a little sad! I love that background seaweed die! It’s just one of those sets that goes with most sea life stamps! I had a few card kits leftover from a class using this set, that had three of the colors, so I added some more sea life to get in the rest of the colors! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded. The front was stamped with some seaweed in Night of Navy Ink.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party was cut with the Sea Dies background and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals around the edges.
- The fish and crab were stamped on Basic White with Flirty Flamingo ink, the starfish with So Saffron Ink and cut with the Sea Dies. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The seaweed was cut with the dies from Polished Pink cardstock and tucked under the background die.
- The greeting was stamped with Polished Pink Ink on Basic White and punched with the regular oval punch. It was layered on the scallop oval punched from So Saffron cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A couple Pearls were added for the bubbles above the fish!

Saturday Blog Hop – “Ruby Puts Her Red Dress On”

BREWED FOR YOU

I love the Brewed For You set for men with the beer mugs and such, but thought I’d make one for the ladies! We have a group of friends that we’ve know since our kids were in preschool and 30 years later, we still get together for hors d’oeuvres and drinks at least once every couple months. Now we all have grandkids to talk about, although our health issues are cropping into our conversations more and more! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate was added on top.
Next a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Regals Cherry Cobbler plaid DSP was added to the front.
A 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock was embossed with the Splatters Embossing folder and added to the front.
A 1 x 3-3/4 strip of polka dot Cherry Cobbler Regals DSP was added over it.
The greeting from Brewed for You was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2-3/4 piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock and the ends cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two wine glasses were stamped with Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White cardstock and the wine with Cherry Cobbler Ink. They were cut with the Brewed Dies.
Around the edges of the glass, Light Pool Party Blends was added.
The second from largest Stylish Shapes circle was cut from Basic White and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The wine glasses were added with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A couple Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the wine.

I thought my ruby red wine worked well for today’s theme, don’t you? I also love the combo of Cherry Cobber and Sweet Sorbet colors! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week is a pretty color combination! I can’t tell you how much I LOVE the new In Colors!

SWEET SONGBIRDS

Birds can be ALL colors, right? So, I figured so could their nest! I did add just a HINT of green to ground the images a little to make sense. lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Tahitian Tide cardstock was embossed with the Into the Clouds Embossing Folder, then added to the front.
A 3 x 4 piece of Design A Daydream DSP was added to a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Starry Sky cardstock, then added to the front.
With the Sweet Songbirds stamp set, the nest was stamped with Starry Sky, the leaves with Parakeet Party, the larger bird with Tahitian Tide and the smaller bird with Daffodil Delight Inks on Basic White cardstock. The large bird was punched with the Bird Builder Punch and the rest were hand-cut.
The wings and beaks were punched from Tahitian Tide and Daffodil Delight cardstocks and added to the birds.
The eyes were stamped with Memento Black Ink. They were assembled and added to the nest with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The wood sign background was stamped OFF Tahitian Tide Ink and the greeting with Starry Sky Ink on Basic White. It was hand cut and added to a 1/8 x 2 strip of Starry Sky cardstock and added with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Finally, a yellow Fun Flower Resin Shaped flower was added to the trio of leaves.
