Creatively Simple 39 – Happiness Abounds

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “FLOWERS”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

Sometimes I’m just in the mood to color! I wanted this flower to be a bright, intense red color, so I used the new Sweet Sorbet In Color!

HAPPINESS ABOUNDS

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was stamped with the greeting in Sweet Sorbet Ink, then added to the front.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper was added down the right side.
The flower and leaves from Happiness Abounds were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with the Sweet Sorbet, Cherry Cobbler, Parakeet Party, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. They were cut with the Bloomin’ Happiness Dies and added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

IM230 – Happiness Abounds

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! I love the colors on this tablescape!

HAPPINESS ABOUNDS

I just felt that this flower in Happiness Abounds would give me the feel of the flower on the napkin ring! And the two circles using the Stylish Shaped Dies under it represent the plate layers!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Coastal Cabana cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- Three 1″ strips of Flowering Fields Designer Paper were placed down the center of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock. I alternated the top to bottom to give me a more variegated look!
- The largest Stylish Shapes stitched circle was cut from Basic White and adhered to the front.
- The next size down was cut from Coastal Cabana cardstock and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The flower and leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White and the flower colored with Soft Seafoam and Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends. The center was dotted with Light Old Olive Blends. The leaves were colored with Old Olive Blends. All were cut with the Bloomin’ Happiness Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Best Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 Basic White cardstock and ends cut at an angle. It was popped up on front at an angle.

Saturday Blog Hop – In Color Coordination

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is creating a new color combination with one of the new In Colors and two of our regular line colors to create a fun color combination! I chose Parakeet Party and combined it with Polished Pink and Garden Green for a bright and cheerful color combo!

SENDING SMILES

A couple weeks ago, we used a fun sketch for our Thursday Challenge cards. Mary and I made VERY similar ones; we do that a LOT! So, I switched out my card to use now.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Parakeet Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Tea Boutique Designer Paper was added to the left side and a coordinating 1-1/8 x 5-1/4 piece was added to the right side, leaving a little space.
A 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was added to a 1-3/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Polished Pink cardstock. The panel was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On Basic White cardstock, the flower stem was stamped with Parakeet Party, the flower petals with Polished Pink and the flower center with Mango Melody. They were cut with the Sending Dies and added on front panel with Stampin’ DImensionals.
Sending and the smaller tag were cut from Garden Green cardstock. The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink. The tag was added with Stampin’ DImensionals and Sending with Monoadhesive Glue.
A trio of In Color Opal Rounds were added to the background.

CCMC717 – Cheerful Basket

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week is a sketch challenge! Check out all the ideas!

CHEERFUL BASKET

This bundle is SO cute! I love the crafting supplies, the kitty…two of my favorite things! So, I just HAD to order it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 3-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Parakeet Party cardstock was stamped with the greeting in Memento Black Ink, then added to the front of the base card.
A 2 x 4-1/4 piece of striped Butterfly Kisses DSP was added to the right side.
Another 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of polka dot print in Butterfly Kisses DSP was added on top.
The basket was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake and cut with the die.
The basket liner was cut from Fresh Freesia cardstock with the die.
The craft supplies were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Crumb Cake Combo, Fresh Freesia Combo, Calypso Coral Combo, Parakeet Party Combo, Light Basic Black, Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. It was also cut with the Dies and added to the basket. All were added to the front with Stapin’ Dimensionals.
The kitty was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Pale Papaya Combo and Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends, the eyes with Parakeet Party and ears with Fresh Freesia Blends. It was cut with the Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A duo of the Fun Flowers Resin Shapes were added to the background for a little fun!

Creatively Simple 38 – Cup of Tea

So, for this card, I used just the flowers from the Cup of Tea stamp set…along with a new punch called Decorative Circle. I think I’ll be using this circle a LOT!

CUP OF TEA

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Polished Pink cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Abstract Beauty Designer Paper was added to the bottom of a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock.
It was layered onto a 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 piece of Night of Navy cardstock.
A 1/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Daffodil Delight covers the DSP seam. The layer was added to the base card.
The Decorative Circle was punched from Daffodil Delight cardstock and adhered on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The stems/leaves image was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on Basic White and the flowers with Polished Pink Ink. They were cut with the Teacup Dies and added to the Decorative Circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A double length of Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the base of the stems with a Mini Glue Dot.
A couple Rhinestones were added to the center of the two larger flowers.
Thank You from Cup of Tea was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink in the upper left corner.

Next weekend we will honor Memorial Day in the United States, so I thought I’d show off some Red, White and Blue patriotic colors using the Happiness Abounds Bundle.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock, a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Sweet Sorbet was added to the top and a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Starry Sky was added to the bottom. (These new In Colors make perfect patriotic colors!)
The background was embossed with the new Cascading Ruffles Embossing Folder (I love the movement this gives the background!)
The smaller flowers were stamped with Starry Sky Ink on Starry Sky cardstock. The larger flower stamped with Starry Sky on Sweet Sorbet cardstock and just the center on Daffodil Delight cardstock. The leaves were stamped with Parakeet Party Ink on Parakeet Pary cardstock. All were cut with the Blooming Happiness Dies and assembled on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Starry Sky on 1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock, then cut at an angle and added to the front.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a flowery bedspread to inspire us!

PERFECTLY PENCILED DESIGNER PAPER

I really like this bouquet of flowers in the Perfectly Penciled DSP, so decided to cut out one of them for today’s card and color it!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Fresh Freesia cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- Two 1/2 x 4-1/4 pieces of Basic Black cardstock were added to a 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock, then adhered to the front.
- The large bouquet of flowers was cut from the Perfectly Penciled DSP. They were colored with the following Stampin’ Blends: Fresh Freesia Combo, Daffodil Delight Combo, Tahitian Tide Combo, Dark Mint Macaron, Shaded Spruce Combo, and Polished Pink Combo. It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The greeting from Happiness Abounds was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Fresh Freesia cardstock and cut with the label from Heron Dies. It was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of Glossy Dots were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Orchid Oasis & Sweet Sorbet

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is another color pairing! We are combining Sweet Sorbet with Orchid Oasis on our cards this week! I set out to make some Texas Bluebonnets Flowers!

WISTERIA WISHES – BLUEBONNETS

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock was cut with the Dots & Spots Die and adhered to the front of the base card.
Two 3/4 x 4 pieces of 2022-24 In Color Orchid Oasis Designer Paper were added to the front.
A rectangle was cut from Basic White cardstock using the Deckled Rectangles Dies. It was stamped with the stems in Parakeet Party Ink.
The tops were stamped with stamped off Orchid Oasis Ink on scrap Basic White, then the bottom portion of the detailed bloom was inked and stamped full strength. Love the variation this gave to the blossoms! I popped them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Four of the dots left from cutting the Orchid Oasis background were added to the corners with Monoadhesives Glue.
Hang In There was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 5/8 x 2-1/2 piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock and the end cut at an angle. It was adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Don’t they look like bluebonnets? One day I’ll get to Texas an see the fields of them blooming!
