Creatively Simple 37 – Cottage Rose

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “FLOWERS”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

Most of you know that I love flower stamps! Cottage Rose in the new Annual Catalog is such a pretty set that I couldn’t wait to use it!

COTTAGE ROSE

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Sea Foam cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was scored three times along the right side at 3/4, 1 and 1-1/4. The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The flower and leaves were stamped with Memento Black on Basic White cardstock and colored with Pale Papaya Combo, Pumpkin Pie Combo, Dark Daffodil Delight, Soft Sea Foam Combo and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. They were cut with the Cottage Flowers Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Papaya In Color Opal Rounds were added to the background.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a colorful shower curtain for our inspiration!

BOTTLED HAPPINESS

I really didn’t know where to go with this challenge, so I decided to duplicate the patterns, stripes and colors for the background of my card using the Tea Boutique Designer Paper! I think it worked out!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tahitian Tide cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added on top.
- Three patterns in Tea Boutique DSP were cut to 1 x 5-1/4 and added to the background, leaving some white space between.
- The bottle from Bottled Happiness stamp set was stamped with Pumpkin Pie Ink and the flower bouquet with Sweet Sorbet and Tahitian Tide Inks on Basic White cardstock. They were hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The greeting was stamped with Tahitian Tide Ink on 1/2 x 2 piece of Basic White, the end cut at an angle, and adhered tucked under the bottle.
- Some Brushed Metallic Butterflies were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Parakeet Party & Tahitian Tide

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is a new In Color combination…Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide! I think these are my top 2 favorites of the In Colors with Orchid Oasis not too far behind!

BEST BUTTERFLIES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Parakeet Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Into The Clouds Embossing Folder…it is a very subtle look!
A 2-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of floral Tahitian Tide In Color DSP was added to the right side with a 2 x 4 piece of Parakeet Party plaid In Color DSP on top.
The 3/4 x 4 strip of Parakeet Party cardstock was stamped with the Best Butterflies greeting in Memento Black Ink, then adhered across the front.
The larger butterfly wings were stamped with Parakeet Party Ink and the smaller ones with Tahitian Tide Ink, the body with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Build A Butterfly Dies. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Tahitian Tide Matte In Color Dots were added to the background.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It’s a fun sketch this week.

BOTTLED HAPPINESS

I have been having fun with the Bottled Happiness Bundle. This time I combined it with the Abstract Beauty Designer Paper!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Soft Succulent cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 2-1/2 x 4 piece of floral Abstract Beauty DSP was added to the bottom.
The pink stripe pattern in Abstract Beauty DSP was cut to 2 x 4-3/4 and added over top towards the left side.
A 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Crushed Curry cardstock was added over it.
The large Layering Circle was cut from Basic White cardstock and adhered on front.
The bottle was stamped with Crushed Curry Ink and the outline with Polished Pink Ink, punched with the Bottle Builder Punch and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The label was stamped with Soft Succulent and greeting with Memento Black Ink. It was hand-cut and added to the bottle.
The flower bouquet was stamped with Polished Pink and the leaves with Soft Succulent. It was hand-cut and added to the top of the bottle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Rhinestone Jewels were added in the background for a little bling!

Creatively Simple 36 – Bottled Happiness

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Flowers”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

BOTTLED HAPPINESS

The two-step flower images in this set make stamping it a breeze! Don’t you love the new Sweet Sorbet and Parakeet Party In Colors? I’ve toned the brightness down a bit by adding Blushing Bride to the mix.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Blushing Bride cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was stamped with the Bottled Happiness flower image in Sweet Sorbet Ink and the two-step leaves with Parakeet Party Ink in opposite corners.
A 1 x 4 piece of Tea Boutique DSP was added across the center.
Some In Color Baker’s Twine was wrapped in a large circle, then added to the front with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The greeting from Bottled Happiness stamp set was stamped with Sweet Sorbet Ink on Blushing Bride cardstock and cut with the Painted Label Die. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two Brushed Metallic Butterflies were added to the top right corner.

IM227 – Happiness Abounds

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a gorgeous, yummy looking cake! Wouldn’t this be a treat for your birthday?

HAPPINESS ABOUNDS

The flowers in the Happiness Abounds stamp set just seemed perfect for this challenge! I tried to duplicate the colors, too! And the string represents the “dripping” technique on the cake! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
- A 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Hues of Happiness Designer Paper was added to the left side.
- The flowers and leaves from Happiness Abounds were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock. The large flower colored with Melon Mambo Blends and center with Old Olive Blends, the two smaller flowers with Flirty Flamingo Blends, and the rose was highlighted with Light Petal Pink Blends. The leaves were colored with Old Olive Blends. All were cut with the Dies.
- Some White Baker’s Twine was wrapped in a circle several times, then added to the base card with a Stampin’ Dimensional to hold in place.
- The flowers/leaves were put in place.
- Happy Birthday was stamped with Old Olive Ink on 1/2 x 3 piece of Basic White and the end trimmed at an angle. It was popped up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of In Color Opal Rounds were added to the background.

CCMC714 – Brewed For You

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Who doesn’t love yellow and blue together? I have always wanted a blue and yellow bedroom! Maybe it is time to redecorate? lol!

BREWED FOR YOU

As luck would have it, a recent swap card I did for the new preorder of the Annual Catalog, uses these colors! I did add in a neutral Sahara Sand, but that is permitted, right? I haven’t used the new In Color, Starry Night, very much, so featured it along with Crushed Curry for my card.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Starry Sky cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 2-1/2 x 5 piece of Crushed Curry cardstock was stamped randomly with the beer mug in Brewed For You with Crushed Curry Ink.
A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of He’s The Man Designer Paper was added on top.
The Stylish Shapes Square was cut from Sahara Sand and stamped with the greeting from Brewed For You in Starry Sky Ink in the upper left corner. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The mug was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Basic White cardstock, and the beer liquid with Crushed Curry Ink. The foam was stamped with Crushed Curry Ink. Both were cut with the Brewed Dies and added to the square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The banner die from Stylish Shapes was cut from Starry Sky cardstock, then cut in half and added to the Sahara Sand square.
A yellow Glossy Dot was placed in the center of the banner.

Creatively Simple 35 – Wisteria Wishes

WISTERIA WISHES

Wisteria is one of my favorite flowers, so I know I just HAD to get this bundle! I was surprised how large the dies are in this set!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The front is embossed with the Gingham Embossing Folder.
A 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the greeting in Wisteria Wishes with Highland Heather Ink in the lower left corner.
This was layered on a 3 x 4-1/2 piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were cut with the Wisteria Die from Parakeet Party cardstock and adhered across the top.
The background flower was cut with the Wisteria Die from Fresh Freesia cardstock and the detailed flower from Highland Heather cardstock. They were glued together and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Fresh Freesia In Color Opal Rounds were added to the background
