Saturday Blog Hop – Christmas in July

This week’s theme for our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is “Christmas in July”! I know a lot of people have classes in July using some new Christmas sets, so we thought we’d give you some inspiration from our Design Team!

CHRISTMAS BARN

This new Christmas Barn Bundle has several elements that I just LOVE! The sleigh, the barn, the fences. I just had to get it! My first card uses the sleigh. It is on my bucket list to ride in a horse-drawn sleigh in the winter some time! I also built my card around these Deckled Rectangle frames I had left over from a class I held! We used the inside, but it left this perfect little frame for another project.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party was added on top.
After the Deckle Rectangle was cut out, I had these little frames left over. I cut the snowbank from Basic White cardstock and adhere it behind the deckle frame along the bottom, then added the frame to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sleigh was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with SU200, SU400, Sweet Sorbet, Starry Sky, Soft Succulent and Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Barn Dies and added to the snowbank.
Two trees were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with SU200 for the trunk and Light Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Blends for the tree limbs. They were cut with the Barn Dies and added above the snowbank.
The greeting was stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink inside the frame.
Some snowflakes were cut from White Glimmer Paper with the Barn Dies and adhered inside the frame.

Creatively Simple 45 – Heron Habitat

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “THINGS THAT FLY”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

Again this week just a little bit of stamping…the dies mainly do the heavy work! AND, I already had the heron all stamped, colored and cut, so just had to add him at the last minute! lol!

HERON HABITAT

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White is added on top.
The sun was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock with the Stylish Shapes circle die and adhered to the front.
The water was cut with the Heron Die from Balmy Blue cardstock and added over the bottom of the sun.
The grasses were cut with the Heron Die from Gray Granite cardstock and added to the front.
The heron was stamped with Basic Gray Ink and colored with the Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Heron Die and added to the sun with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Heron Habitat was stamped with Basic Gray Ink in the background.
Three Fine Sparkle Gems were added to the background.

IM236 – Bottled Happiness

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! I just love this watercolor painting of vases!

BOTTLED HAPPINESS

Aren’t these pretty, soft colors in this painting? I wanted to recreate them on my card.

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of He’s The Man basketweave DSP was added on top.
- A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Pool Party cardstock was added down the left side.
- The 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with one bottom in Crumb Cake Ink with Soft Suede outline, the second in Gray Granite Ink with Basic Gray outline, and the greenery in the center with Soft Succulent Ink.
- The small bottle was stamped with Pool Party Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored the outline with the Light Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend. It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Two more greenery pieces were stamped with Soft Succulent on scrap Basic White and hand-cut, then added to the front.
- Some Linen Thread was wrapped around the neck of the small bottle.
- A small tag was cut from the Teacup Dies and Basic White, the heart cut with the Teacup Die from Sweet Sorbet cardstock. It was added to the twine with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Sending Cheer was stamped with Gray Granite on 1/2 x 1-1/2 piece of Basic White, the end cut at an angle and added to the front.
- Two Pool Party Solid Faceted Gems were added to the background.

Creatively Simple 44 – Best Butterflies

There is very little stamping on my card this week…just the greeting a couple times! The Butterfly Kisses Designer Paper does all the work!

BEST BUTTERFLIES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Starry Sky cardstock was embossed with the Hive Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Butterfly Kisses DSP was added to the front towards the left side.
Three 1 x 3-1/4 strips of Basic White cardstock were added down the left side with Stampin’ Dimensionals
There small butterflies were cut from the Butterfly Kisses DSP and added to the strips with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Hey Hey was stamped with Starry Sky Ink on the middle strip.
Some Fun Flowers Resin Shapes were added to each strip.

Saturday Blog Hop – “Red, White, Blue and Blessed”

HAPPY 4th of JULY weekend in the US!!! Please have a happy and SAFE holiday!

Last month our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hops featured songs with colors in them! AND, we have ONE more song for you! This week’s song is “Red, White Blue & Blessed” by Colt Ford.

SUNNY SPLASH

I always enjoy using regular sets to create patriotic cards…and this one was LOTS of fun to design! So glad they had polka dot and striped bathing suits…worked out great!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Starry Sky cardstock was embossed with the Cascading Ruffles Embossing Folder and added to the front.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Sweet Sorbet In Color striped DSP was added down the center.
A 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of White Glitter Paper was placed in the center.
The polka dot swimsuit was stamped with Starry Sky Ink and the stripe swimsuit with Sweet Sorbet Ink on Basic White cardstock, then hand-cut and added to the Glimmer Paper with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Celebrate from Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set was inked with the Starry Sky Marker, then stamped on a 1/2 x 2-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock and the end cut at an angle. It was also popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Three of the stars were punched with the Starlit Punch from White Glimmer Paper and added to the background with Mini Glue Dots.

CCMC722 – Hippest Hippos

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week is a fun color challenge.

HIPPEST HIPPOS

This FREE Sale-A-Bration set, Hippest Hippos, was the FIRST thing I picked…along with the FREE Sale-A-Bration Hippo Dies! Just SO cute! And, I figured that hippos don’t all have to be gray, do they? This So Saffron hippo is just TOO fun!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Orchid Oasis cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on the front.
A 3 x 4-1/4 piece of 2022-24 In Colors Designer Paper was added to the center.
The 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Balmy Blue cardstock was cut with the waves border in the Hippo Dies and stamped with the Hippest Hippos greeting in Memento Black Ink. It was added to the front.
A stitched circle was cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies from Basic White cardstock and adhered on front.
The hippo was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and colored with the So Saffron, Balmy Blue and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Hippo Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flowers were cut from So Saffron cardstock with the dies and added to the front.
The glasses were cut from Orchid Oasis cardstock and added to the hippo to give her a little sass!

This card just cracks me up! I think my grand-daughter would love it! OK, go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Creatively Simple 43 – Sending Smiles

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “GREETINGS”, and we each create a simple card every Tuesday using that theme!

This card was made entirely from pieces leftover from different projects I started. I call them “starts”. So, all I had to do with finish the background and base card! SO quick!

SENDING SMILES

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tahitian Tide cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Sweet Sorbet cardstock was added on top.
The 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 piece of Basic White was embossed with the Cascading Ruffles Embossing Folder and added to the front.
Sending was cut from Tahitian Tide cardstock with the Sending Die and adhered on front towards the top.
Comfort & Strength from Sending Smiles Stamp Set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Tahitian Tide cardstock and cut with the smallest label Sending Die. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower stem from Sending Smiles was stamped with Parakeet Party Ink and the flower with Sweet Sorbet Ink, center with Daffodil Delight Ink on scrap Basic White, then cut with the Sending Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The In Color Sweet Sorbet Baker’s Twine was tied around the stem in a bow.
The little flower was cut from Sweet Sorbet cardstock with the Die and added for the “i” with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
A small Iridescent Rhinestone was added to the center of the small flower.

IM234 – Cup of Tea

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! We have a striking stack of black and white teacups as our inspiration today! My grandmother had a huge collection of teacups. She often entertained ladies who played the Bridge card game, and each would have their own unique cup! When she passed away, each of the grandchildren got to choose one of her teacups as a remembrance.

CUP OF TEA

Of course, what else could I use besides Stampin’ Up!’s Cup of Tea Bundle for today’s card! The Brushed Metallic Cardstock really sets off the black and white Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The Deckled Rectangle was cut from a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock with the DIe and added to a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock, then to the front of the card.
- The teacups were cut with the Teacup Dies from the Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper patterns.
- Additional teacups were cut from the gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock and the handles and bases trimmed off and added to the DSP ones. Then they were stacked on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The lemon from Cup of Tea was stamped with Daffodil Delight Ink and the leaf with Parakeet Party Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Dies. They were added next to the bottom teacup with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Enjoy was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the small tag. It was added to the top teacup with some gold Simply Elegant Trim.
- A bow was tied with gold Simply Elegant Trim and added to the handle of the bottom teacup with a Mini Glue Dot.
- The heart was cut with the Die from Gold Metallic Paper and added to the center teacup.
