Here's my card to kick off Preview Week.  This week is all about Designer's Choice and Flower Shop is one of my FAVORITE new sets!

  1. The base is yummy Coastal Cabana, 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded in half.
  2. I stamped the loopy flower in Flower Shop with Coastal Cabana Ink across the bottom.
  3. I ran the front thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder for some texture.
  4. I cut the Whisper White Apothecary Accent and stamped the greeting from Really Good Greetings in Coastal Cabana towards the bottom (and cut off the excess).
  5. I punched the In Color Designer Paper Stacks of Strawberry Slush with the Blossom and Pansy Punches, then layered them together.  The flower is held with the Antique Brad.

Love how SIMPLE this card is, but it really is pretty!

CCMC256 Bootiful Occasions

Happy Birthday to me!!!! 

One year I'd love to get one of these Topsy Turvy cakes for my birthday…they are just SO fun looking!  Yes, "It's my birthday and I'll stamp if I want to!!!"  I'm hoping to get lots of stamping done today!  I wasn't feeling very creative yesterday and had a sinus headache most of the day due to the weather changing.  But, hopefully today will be a LOT better!

 

And today we have a fun color challenge for you over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Hope you will join us this week and post your own creation!

 

 

I thought the colors were perfect for a masculine card and use the new Soho Subway designer paper!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base of the 4 1/4 x 11 card is Early Espresso folded in half.
  2. I added a layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Pacific Point, embossed with the Woodgrain folder, then used a sponge dauber to add Early Espresso Ink over the edges and raised areas.
  3. I added a 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip of the Summer Starfuit pattern in Soho Subway, also inked with Early Espresso around the edges.
  4. Next I cut a 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 square of the letter print in Soho Subway and distressed the edges before placing it on front.
  5. I cut an Oval Framelit from Early Espresso and adhered to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. The boot was stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake, then the bottom of the boot watercolored with Early Espresso and the stars colored with the Summer Starfruit Marker.  I cut it out, added a mini brad to the bootstrap and placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. I stamped the greeting on Very Vanilla, punched with the Large Oval punch, then sponged the edges with Early Espresso.
  8. Finally, I added Bakers Twine to the wood button placed on the front with a mini glue dot.

 

I think I'll use this for my Father's Day card this year!  My dad will like it!

Blooming with Kindness

I've had this card for Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Challenge TSSC266 done since Tuesday, but just getting the opportunity to photograph and upload it here on my blog!  I didn't want to miss the deadline!  Some weeks, where does the time go?

 

And here is my card using Stampin' Up!'s Blooming with Kindness and one of the new In Colors…Strawberry Slush!  I love it paired with Pink Pirouette!

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 Strawberry Slush, folded in half.
  2. I added a layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White.
  3. I cut a strip of 2 x 4 3/4 Quatrefancy Designer Paper and placed along the left side.
  4. On a piece of 2 1/2 x 3 3/4 Whisper White, I stamped the image by inking up the flower with Pink Pirouette first, then used markers to add Strawberry Slush and Always Artichoke accents.  I stamped Thank You in Always Artichoke.
  5. This was layered in 2 3/4 x 4 Always Artichoke cardstock.
  6. I punched a strip of Pink Pirouette cardstock with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and tucked half of it under the left side.
  7. I added a 1/2 x 1 strip of the Quatrefancy DSP in the corner, cut with a flag end, then a large Rhinestone jewel on top!

 

I love the soft colors on this beautiful flower image!

CCMC254 – Mixed Bunch

Oh, you HAVE to jump over to Create with Connie and Mary and see our new blog look for Summer!  It is so fresh and colorful…we love it!  And…today is also our Thursday Challenge, so check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week with our Color Challenge!

 

 

And here is my card.  I pulled out Mixed Bunch, a set I haven't used in a while!  I love the matching punch, but I tend to use it more with designer paper for some reason.  I have a couple new items on here…can you spot them?

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Island Indigo, folded in half.
  2. I embossed the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Pool Party with the Honeycomb Folder.
  3. I cut a 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 piece of Epic Day Designer Paper (from the new catalog!) and angled it on the front of the card.
  4. I punched two of the Blossom Punch from So Saffron, then stamped the Mixed Bunch flower with So Saffron twice on Whisper White and punched with the Blossom Punch.  I layered on top of each other with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. I stamped the center with Island Indigo and punched with the 1" Circle Punch, then placed on top with Stampin' Dimensionals and added Pearls in the center.
  6. Last, I stamped the Good for You greeting from the new Hostess Set, Banner Greetings with Island Indigo on Whisper White, cut it out and added it to the front with a sliver of Island Indigo for the "stick".  
  7. A Whisper White Taffeta bow finishes the card.

CCMC251 Summer Silhouettes

It's Thursday…and time for the Create with Connie and Mary challenge!  We have a fun sketch for you today!  I loved it!

 

 

I had thought of going a couple different ways with this…but ended up using the Summer Silhouettes stamp set for my card.  Boy…am I going to MISS my Lucky Limeade!  Only a couple more weeks to use it!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded in half.
  2. I stamped the lattice image from Summer Silhouettes in Tangerine Tango along the right side as the sketch shows and adhered the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Whisper White to the front.
  3. I cut a 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Whisper White and stamped the leaves and stems from Summer Silhouettes with Lucky Limeade across it.  I added the flowers of Tangerine Tango.  I layered it on a 3 x 4 piece of Basic Black and popped it up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  4. I colored the Rhinestone Jewels with a Black Sharpie and added them to the base of the flower stem.  Don't they POP off the page?
  5. I punched the Decorative Label Punch from Tangerine Tango cardstock.  On top I added a Basic Black Scallop Oval Punch.
  6. On top of that I stamped the Especially for You from Made for You (retiring!  Page 44 of the big catalog in case you missed this great greeting set!) in Black Stazon on Whisper White and punched with the Large Oval Punch.
  7. The greeting was adhered to the front with a Stampin' Dimensional under the left side and regular Snail on the right side.

CCMC250 Papillon Potpourri

Time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge…we're doing a Color Challenge this week!  Check out this fun color combo!  Aren't you glad that Pool Party and Calypso Coral are staying?  I am!

 

 

And here is my card!  I love the hexagon…wish we had a punch the size to fit inside the Honeycomb folder!  I just ran the Sent with Love Designer Paper thru the Big Shot with the Honeycomb folder and then cut them out.  (OK…after I had these all done and photographed, realized that Sent with Love will be gone by the time this posts.  I'm in a rush trying to leave for Fiji in a few days as I post this, so no time to change it…sorry!  I had my weeks mixed up!  You can substitute the Epic Day This that That Designer Paper since it has these colors in it.)

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Basic Gray, folded in half.
  2. Cut a 4×4 piece of Pool Party Cored'nations Paper, embossed with the Honeycomb folder and sanded.
  3. Wrap the Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon around and adhere in the back, adhere to front of card.
  4. Emboss the Sent with Love (or Epic Day This & That) Designer Paper with the Honeycomb fold and then cut out some of the hexagon shapes and adhere inside the Pool Party piece.
  5. Stamp the image from Four Frames in Basic Gray and punch with the Decorative Label Punch.  Punch another from Calypso Coral cardstock.  Cut the Calypso Coral one in half and adhere wider than the image one.  Place on front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. Stamp the butterfly image from Papillon Potpourri in Calypso Coral on Whisper White, punch with the Butterfly Punch, tie Linen Thread around for the body and antenna.  Add to Four Frames image with Stampin' Dimensional under body.
  7. Stamp For You from Itty Bitty Banners in Basic Gray, cut out and add to front of card.

For the Birds Owl Favor

Over on Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions for All Occasions, we're just finishing up Week 1!  We've shown 6 card sets, featuring stamps and accessories from the Main and Spring  Mini catalogs.  This Saturday, each of our Designers have made a matching 3D favor to go along with the stamp set they featured.  As you can see, my featured set this week was For the Birds.  Here's my favor!  I saw something similar made for Valentine's, but I thought it would be cute to add the For the Birds image!

 

Can you tell what my Owl is made from? 

 

 

If you said the Dresden Designs Bigz Die….you are RIGHT!  Isn't it fun?  I always love to get another idea from something I've purchased for one use.  Here are the details…pretty simple to whip up a bunch of these!

 

  1. I cut the smaller Dresden Design from the Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper.  I scored down about 2" from the small end, then cut the top into a point from the center to the fold mark and adhered it to the front.
  2. I made eyes with the 3/4" Circle Punch from Whisper White cardstock, then the irises with the Small Heart Punch and Marina Mist cardstock.  The pupils I used the 1/8" Circle Punch with Basic Black cardstock.  The eyes were popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  3. I stamped the little bird in the nest with Black Stazon on scrap Whisper White and watercolored with my AquaPainter and the Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers.  I cut it out and adhered to the front.
  4. I stamped thinking of you with Black Stazon and punched with the Word Window Punch and adhered to the front.
  5. Finally, I added a heart shaped Butterfinger candy to the front with Mini Glue Dots.  You could also use the square Dove candies if you can't find heart shaped ones now!

TIP:  You could turn this into a card pretty easily…just fold the card base in half where I have my score line before you run it thru the Big Shot.

CCMC245 Million Dollar Moments

It's Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  We have a fun sketch for you today…and you'll see that Mary and I were on the same wavelength!  It was too funny when we uploaded our cards!  I did mine at a Stampin' Retreat a few weeks ago!  Since I forgot and the first card I did using this sketch had Sale-A-Bration products (and that is over now!), I had to re-do it.  When I saw Mary's card, I debated on whether or not to re-do mine again, but decided not to…they were different enough!

 

 

And here is my card…I love the Summer Starfruit boots and umbrella!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 (my favorite, obviously!) of Summer Starfruit, folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White.
  3. Along the bottom is a 2 x 4 piece of Print Poetry Designer Paper.
  4. I added the Summer Starfruit Stitched Ribbon to hide the seam.
  5. I stamped the girl from Million Dollar Moments in Primrose Petals on Whisper White, then cut it with the Oval Framelit.  I stamped her again on scrap Whisper White with Summer Starfruit, then cut out her boots and umbrella to layer of the Primrose Petals one.  The umbrella was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals and also the Oval on the front.
  6. I stamped the "raining" flowers with Summer Starfruit ink coming down from the top, and added Rhinestone Jewels to a few of the centers and the top of the umbrella.
  7. Finally, I stamped "thanks a million" from the same set in Basic Black on Primrose Petals cardstock and punched with the Small Oval punch, then placed on the front with more Stampin' Dimensionals.
