CCMC427 Candy Cane Christmas

It’s Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! It’s a fun sketch for you to try! Play along and upload to your blog or Pinterest or other gallery!

And here’s what I did. Not too much stamping on here! The gingerbread house is cut out of the DSP! You can get a bunch from one sheet! This would be a FAST card to make for your Christmas cards!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
The DSP is cut to 2 x 5-1/4, then an angle cut out of it, and adhered to the bottom.
A 1/4 x 5-1/4 coordinating strip of DSP was placed across the bottom.
The house was cut out of the Candy Cane Lane DSP and adhere in the V of the cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Candy Cane Christmas Stamp Set was stamped with Real Red Ink on an angle.
Finally, some Real Red Baker’s Twine was tied in a bow and adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.

Embossed Pumpkin Card

I’ve been loving the “white” pumpkins that have started appearing over the past few years. I have a couple of different fake ones for decorations around the house! I had originally thought to use this card for my Stamp Club last month, but changed my mind at the last minute to something else! I still like how it turned out with the Petals& Paisleys Designer Paper! Can you see the embossing on the pumpkin itself?

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Rich Razzleberry cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped with “thanks” from Watercolor Wishes stamp set in Always Artichoke Ink.
A 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Crumb Cake was adhered to the bottom of the Very Vanilla layer, then a 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Petals & Paisley’s Designer Paper was placed over it. On top to hide the seam, place a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Always Artichoke.
Cut three of the large Layering Ovals from Very Vanilla cardstock and emboss with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder, sponge around the edges with Crumb Cake Ink and adhere together to form the pumpkin shape.
Handcut a stem from Crumb Cake cardstock and sponge with Crumb Cake Ink around the edges. Place it behind the top of the pumpkin.
Stamp the leaf from Vintage Leaves with Always Artichoke Ink and cut with the Leaflet Framelits. Adhere at the top of the pumpkin with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Adhere pumpkin to the front of the base card!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Halloween Colors

Our theme this week on the Saturday Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop is “HALLOWEEN COLORS”! I must admit that I went away from the usual colors of orange and black this week. I love the addition of purple over the past few years, so I went with it!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Perfect Plum cardstock folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock.
On the 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 Smoky Slate cardstock layer, large Circle Framelit was cut from Crushed Curry cardstock and sponged around the edges with Pumpkin Pie Ink. The spooky tree from the Halloween Scene Edgelits was placed across the front.
One of the houses from Halloween Night DSP was hand-cut and added next to the tree. The windows were colored with the Crushed Curry Marker.
The witch was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Smoky Slate, then cut with the Edgelits, colored with Perfect Plum, Basic Gray and Crushed Curry Markers, then added to the front with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Two bats were stamped at the top left corner and the greeting was stamped in the bottom right with Memento Black Ink.
Finally, some Halloween Night Enamel Dots were added to the front for a little bling!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Not your normal fall card

Our theme this week on the Saturday Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop is “NOT YOUR NORMAL FALL CARD”, meaning a non-traditional shaped card! I’ve been wanting to make a house card…but it turned out a lot smaller than I anticipated! It is still cute…although I could seeing using it as more of a tag on a gift bag or something! lol!

Here are the details:

Two of the fronts of the house were cut with the Home Sweet Home Framelit from Rich Razzleberry cardstock.
The door was cut from Basic Black, the window cut out and Daffodil Delight placed behind it.
The bat and ghost were stamped with Memento Black Ink and cut out with the Framelits.
Several of the “roof” tiles were cut from Basic Black and added to the front, then the Spider web was stamped with White Craft Ink on the front a couple times.
The doorknob is one of the Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Here’s the inside…another house was cut from Daffodil Delight and trimmed slightly smaller to layer inside. More spider webs and the Trick or Treat greeting was added with Memento Black Ink.

I included a picture of the back so you can see that I scored down a little from the top point and adhered only in that portion to form the card.

CCMC425 Star of Light

I loved the sketch this week for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Wait until you see all the different looks our Challenge Team did this week with it! Wow!!! LOVED them all! I had originally thought to use my Cookie Cutter Halloween…good thing I changed my mind! It would have been VERY similar to Mary’s card this week! We do that SO often!

And here is my card. I love the Silver, White and Soft Sky combination! SOOOO pretty in real life!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sky cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
One panel of 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 Soft Sky and one panel of 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate in the silver finish were added on top…love that one side is gold and one side is silver!
The background star from Starlight Thinlets was cut from Whisper White and the filigree star from Silver Metallic cardstock and were adhered together and placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A large rhinestone jewel is in the center of the star.
Merry Christmas from Star of Light stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2″ scrap of Whisper White and cut with a flag end, then tucked under the star.
Three stars from the Metallic Shapes were added to the front for some extra bling!

Thoughtful Branches

Since I’ve heard that Stampin’ Up! is close to exhausting their supply of Thoughtful Branches bundles, I thought I’d show the last of the cards I had made using this set before it is officially gone. SO…if you have waited and waited and now HAVE to HAVE it…let me know and I’ll get it ordered for you! lol! It is a keeper in my book…I know I’ll hold onto mine!

Fall officially starts tomorrow. I noticed that the first trees have started to turn colors around here, too…even though our temps are still in the 80s! I used the baby wipe technique to make the multi-colors on my leaves for this card. The “pad” was nearing the end of its use, so the colors were mixed and blended really well…love how it turned out!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Chocolate Chip cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper was layered on a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock then added to the left side.
The tree trunk from Thoughtful Branches stamp set was stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink on a 1-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Whisper White, then the leaves inked on the Baby Wipe filled with Delightful Dijon, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive reinkers. It was overstamped a couple times for fullness. Also stamped the “grass” along the bottom.
The Delightful Dijon ribbon was cut and swirled on the front of the base, tacking it in place with a couple Mini Glue Dots.
The stamped panel was added to a 2 x 4 piece of Delightful Dijon and then adhered to the front diagonally with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the ribbon swirl.
Thank You from the same stamp set was stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink in the bottom right corner.
Two leaves were stamped in the baby wipe pad, cut with the Thinlets and added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s it! What do you think? My highlights on this card are the ribbon swirl and the baby wipe technique!

Control Freaks Sept 2016 Happy Fall

It’s time for this month’s Tour de Freaks blog hop! This month we are featuring Happy Fall Y’all…and that includes Halloween! You’ve probably just come from Wendy Weixler’s fabulous blog…love her projects! If you are arriving prior to September 20th, not all links may be working yet!

So, who doesn’t adore the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set? I’ve done a series of different cards using these fun images on my blog! Here’s the latest one! I was at World Market over the weekend and they had tons of sugar skulls and decorations! It put me in mind of the skeleton in Cookie Cutter Halloween. Then this weekend someone else on Facebook I saw had the same idea! Too funny. But, here’s my rendition of a sugar skeleton using the fun Mini Treat Bag Thinlet and Cookie Cutter Halloween and Spooky Fun stamp sets.

Here it is opened up with a “card” inside.

Since I was babysitting my grandkids today, I didn’t know if I’d have time, but at the last minute, I decided to do a little coordinating treat holder. I used two of the smaller sections of the Mini Treat Bag Thinlet in order to get a skinny treat bag! I also cut it down in size so it fit one of the smaller Hershey Mini Bars!

Here are the details:

The Mini Treat Bag base is cut from the plaid print in Halloween Night Designer Series Paper package and put together with Tear and Tape Adhesive.
A 1-1/2 x 8-1/2 belly band of coordinating DSP is around around the bag.
A scallop circle is cut from Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper with the Layering Circles Framelits and a Basic Black circle was cut to fit inside. They are popped up on the front of the bag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The skeleton from Cookie Cutter Christmas was stamped with Memento Black Ink, the colored with Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizazz and Basic Black Markers, adding swirls and designs like the sugar skulls. It was punched with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and adhered on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A bow tie was punched from Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper and added to the neck with a Mini Glue Dot.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Crushed Curry and cut with the Layering Circles Framelits, then sponged around the edges with Pumpkin Pie and added to the scallop Basic Black circle on the front.
The bats were stamped directly on the DSP with Memento Black Ink.
Inside, the Pumpkin Pie cardstock had a 3/4 x 3-3/4 strip of DSP to the bottom, with a 1/4″ strip of Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper added on top.
Happy Halloween from Spooky Fun was added with Memento Black Ink, and a second sugar skeleton was added to the bottom!
A smaller Basic Black circle was cut to use as the pull-up tab at the top.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Fall is in the Air

Our theme this week on the Saturday Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop is “FALL IS IN THE AIR”! I hadn’t pulled out my Leaflet Framelits yet this year…and I thought I’d combine it with the pretty Petals & Paisley’s Designer Paper using a reverse leaf design!

Here are the details…pretty CAS design!

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cajun Craze cardstock, folded in half.
The 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Petals & Posies Designer Paper was adhered towards the top of the base card.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake, the maple leaf was cut with the Leaflet Framelits. The edges were sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and the greeting from Suite Seasons was added with Chocolate Chip Ink to the bottom. It was placed on the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A piece of Delightful Dijon Ribbon from the Ribbon Trio Pack was tied in a knot and added above the stem of the leaf.
The Metallic Enamel Shape Dots were added to the front for some extra bling.
