CCMC526 Spooky Sweets

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge! Wow…what a FUN sketch we have for you to try today!

I just HAD to do a Halloween card! Love this Spooky Sweets stamp that has TWO coordinating punches…the Twinkle Builder (moon and stars) punch AND the Spooky Bats punch!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Gorgeous Grape cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
Trim off two 1 x 4-3/4 pieces of the stripe in Toil and Trouble Designer Paper and cross on the front.
On the 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Gray Granite cardstock, stamp the “clouds” in Gray Granite Ink a couple times and stamp Happy Halloween from Spooky Sweets stamp set with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.
Layer the Gray Granite piece on a 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of the polka dot pattern in Toil and Trouble DSP package, then adhere to the front.
Stamp the bats from Spooky Sweets stamp set with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White cardstock and punch with the Spooky Bats punch. Add to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the moon from Spooky Sweets stamp set with Mango Melody Ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock and punch with the Twinkle Builder Punch. Add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add some black Faceted Dots for a little bling in the background.

IM36 – Rooted in Nature

Today’s inspiration photo really is getting me in the mood for fall…too bad the weather is still in the 90s here!!! Major heat wave! I love this glass plate for today’s inspiration and in my mind I saw two distinct “branches” of fall leaves, so I tried to recreate it with the leaves from Rooted in Nature.

Here’s what I came up with…I think I captured the overall look, don’t you? First time I’ve used the new Corrugated Embossing Folder, too! LOVE!!!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock was embossed the new Corrugated Embossing Folder, then sponged with Crumb Cake Ink.
The new Braided Linen Trim was wrapped around and adhered in the back, then the Whisper White added to the card front.
The leaf from Rooted in Nature was stamped with Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow and Poppy Parade on coordinating cardstock, then cut with the Nature’s Root Framelits. They were lightly sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and added in two “branches” of leaves on the front.
The greeting Give Thanks from Labels to Love was inked with Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso Markers, then stamped on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the 1-3/8 Circle Punch. It was added to the Pretty Label Punched from Crumb Cake and lightly sponged with Crumb Cake Ink. It was added over the Braided Linen Trim with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New Holiday Stamp Set

Switching things around this month, we are featuring the favorites in the new Holiday Catalog over the new few weeks! This week…the Design Team chose their FAVORITE new Holiday Stamp Set! Well…I can tell you…I don’t have just one! I have a TON of new sets that I love! But, the snowmen was the first one that I knew I absolutely HAD to have join my collection of snowman sets! So…here’s my Spirited Snowman card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
Along the left side is a 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper.
A 1-1/4 x 4 strip of Poppy Parade cardstock is stamped with the Spirited Snowman greeting “Winter Cheer”.
A Stitched Label Framelit is cut from Whisper White cardstock and added to the front.
The snow couple was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White and colored with Shaded Spruce, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Bronze and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends, then hand-cut and added to the Stitched Label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A little Wink of Stella on the snow couple make them sparkle!
The holly was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Shaded Spruce Blends with three Red Rhinestones for the berries. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Blended Seasons Wedding

It is getting late in the day, but just had to show off the card I made for a wedding we are attending this weekend using the Blended Seasons stamp set. TODAY (FRIDAY) IS THE LAST DAY TO GET IT!!! I absolutely LOVE the label framelits in here, and especially that they are stitched both inside and out! Kept it very simple as the bride isn’t into a lot of “bling”.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Petal Pink is embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder.
The middle label from Stitched Seasons Framelits was cut from Whisper White cardstock.
The middle oval from Layering Ovals was cut from Petal Pink and stamped with the Blended Seasons greeting in Memento Black.
The bells were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White and cut with the Stitched Seasons bell Framelit. They were colored with Petal Pink and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, then the white space painted with the Clear Wink of Stella.

That’s it!!! Super simple and yet very elegant, I think!

CCMC525 – Healing Hugs

Another Thursday has rolled around and it’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge. We have a beautiful color combination for you to try this week! LOVE the new purples that Stampin’ Up! just introduced in the Color Revamp…and, of course, my favorite new green…Granny Apple Green!

Here’s what I came up with using the lovely set, Healing Hugs. Although it is hard to see in the photograph, the roses are actually two-toned and SO pretty in real life!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Gorgeous Grape cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Granny Apple Green (Brights) Designer Paper was added to the left side.
The Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon was added over top and adhere in the back.
Get Well Soon from Healing Hugs was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink in the upper left corner.
The roses from Healing Hugs were inked with Highland Heather Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then sponged with Gorgeous Grape for a two-tone look. They were hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two sets of leaves from Healing Hugs were stamped with Granny Apple Green on scrap Whisper White, hand cut and added under the flowers.

IM35 – Wishing You Well

I’m loving the fabric on today’s Inspiration Photo! I’d actually like some pillows just like these! They would look great on my sofa! I decided to use Wishing You Well on my card today! It’s one of those sets that is just SO versatile! In fact, Mary and I did a whole seasonal theme with it for our Create with Connie and Mary Wishing You Well Collection! Don’t miss out on getting it!

Here’s what I came up with! Simple simple, but love how it looks!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Lemon Lime Twist was added on top.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, the Wishing You Well bouquet was stamped three times. Starting in the center with Bermuda Bay right side up, then Lemon Lime Twist and Gray Granite upside down.
Just a Note from Wishing You Well was stamped with Memento Black Ink under the Bermuda Bay one.
A bow was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White, then hand-cut and placed with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front.
A few scattered Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins were placed on the Bermuda Bay one for a little shimmer!

AWESOME quick and easy card, isn’t it? It took longer to clean the stamp in between the colors than it did to do the entire card! Go check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Challenge this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Always Be My Baby

This month Create with Connie and Mary is featuring “music in the 90s” themes!!! Our last one is Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby” song…of course we’ll be making KIDS cards…they will always be our baby, right? And…with MY kids having kids…I love making cards especially for the grands for different holidays! I decided to go with Animal Outing stamp set since I specially purchased it to make cards for the grandkids.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Call Me Clover cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
Along the left side is a 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Animal Expedition Designer Paper.
At the top right, the branch and tree frog is stamped with Memento Black and colored with Call Me Clover, Crumb Cake and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.
The kangaroo from Animal Outing is stamped with Memento Black on Whisper White cardstock, then colored with Crumb Cake, Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. The ground with Soft Sea Foam. It is cut with the middle stitched label in the Stitched Seasons Framelits (don’t let these get away! They are only available in August!) It was popped up on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Wild About You was stamped next next to the label with Memento Black Ink.
A Galvanized Button (in the Holiday Catalog) was tied with Linen Thread and added to the label with Mini Glue Dots!

Two of my grandsons have birthdays in the next month…but one has a dinosaur theme and the other construction trucks. May have to hold onto this one for another time!
