Special Reason

If you follow my blog, I mentioned last week that several of the Challenge Team used the Special Reason Bundle on their cards. I decided to make a second card from something different for the actual challenge, but here’s my the original Special Reason card I was going to post. I love the soft and spring-like colors!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Flirty Flamingo, scored at 4-1/4 and folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of In Color Patterns DSP was added across the front.
The larger flower from Special Reason stamp set was stamped with Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White and the smaller flower twice with Blushing Bride, the leaves with Pear Pizzazz. All were cut with the Stylish Stems Framelits.
The were added to the front of the card, and the greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink.

CCMC443 Dragonfly Dreams

It’s funny how “great minds” think alike! With today’s Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, you’ll notice that several of our Challenge Team Members used the same stamp set! In fact, I used it, too! But, when I went to upload mine and saw their designs, I decided that I would make up another card using a different set. It’s a COOL sketch, and I know you could come up with even more ideas with it! Our website will give you information on how to play along on our Facebook page!

Here’s what I did using Dragonfly Dreams Bundle:

And here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pear Pizzazz cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Tasty Treats Designer Paper was temporarily placed across the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
Before adhering the DSP, the speckle stamp from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped above and below the area with Pear Pizzazz Ink, then the DSP placed over it.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower left corner.
On a scrap piece of Shimmer White, use the AquaPainter and Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Makers to watercolor the background. Stamp the dragonfly image over top when dry with Memento Black Ink. Cut with Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit and adhere on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add some Clear Wink of Stella over top the wings.

SUOC167 Sealed with Love

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Time for Valentines”. Appropriate time of year! Here’s one I made up with my favorite Valentine colors, Pool Party, Whisper White and Real Red!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Sending Love Designer Paper was added.
A piece of Sending Love 1/8″ Real Red Ribbon hides the seam and is adhered in the back.
The swash from Sealed with Love stamp set was stamped twice with Pool Party Ink.
The Hello Love greeting was stamped over top with Memento Black Ink.
The 3D Heart was cut from Real Red and the slotted heart from Basic Black cardstocks and adhered to the front. The arrow was cut from Pool Party cardstock and adhered behind the 3D heart.
The floral heart was stamped with Real Red and cut with the 3D heart, then the outer portion cut off. It is adhered to the solid Real Red 3D heart.
The lips were stamped with Real Red.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Teen or Child Birthday

We’re back for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop with the Design Team! Our theme this week is Child or Teen Birthdays! This is a fun category!

I used my new Custom Tee stamp set in the Occasions Catalog for my card today! I paired it with the bright colors in the Party Animal Designer Paper!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pacific Point cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a layer of 4 x 5-1/4 Whisper White cardstock.
Along the left side, a 2-1/2 x 5 strip of Party Animal DSP was added.
Next layer is a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.
The large circle was cut from Whisper White with the Stitched Shapes Circle and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Custom Tee shirt was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Tangerine Tango and cut with the T-shirt Builder Framelits. One in a Million was stamped inside the shirt. It was added to the Circle.
Birthday Boy was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Pacific Point and cut with the Banner in the t-shirt Builder Framelits (love it!), then added to the front.
A few Brights Sequins were added to the front for a little bling.

CCMC442 Avant Garden

It’s Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! Isn’t this a pretty color combination? Of course, with yellow and green, my thoughts turned immediately to flowers!!!

Here’s my inspiration using these colors:

The details are:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pacific Point cardstock was embossed with the Falling Petals Embossing Folder.
A 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Party Animal Designer Paper was placed across the front.
The Sweet and Sassy Heart Framelit is cut from Whisper White and the greeting stamped with Pacific Point Ink.
The Avant Garden flower was stamped three times with Crushed Curry on Whisper White and the center with Emerald Envy Ink, then hand-cut out and placed on the heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The six leaves were stamped with Emerald Envy Ink on Whisper White and hand-cut, then tucked under the flowers.

Control Freaks Jan 2017 Blog Hop

Welcome to the January Tour de Freaks! Our theme this month is ANYTHING from the Occasions or Sale-A-Brations catalog, so I just HAD to play along! As you take the blog hop, you should get LOTS of great ideas! You’ve probably just come from Julie Davison’s blog, aren’t her projects fun? If you’ve arrived prior to the 20th, please note that not all links may be working correctly.

I think this sweet little stamp set, Perfect Mix, has been completely overlooked in the Occasions Catalog! I couldn’t resist getting it…I’m a much better baker than cook! I love to make candies, cookies, fun loaves of bread, package them up and give them away! These tags or little notes would be perfect to include with the treat! And, the notes themselves are all wrapped up in a cute little matchbook style package, so they would be a wonderful hostess gift all by themselves!

Some details:

The Melon Mambo cardstock notes are cut 3 x 6, and scored at 3.
A 1-1/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Pop of Pink Designer Paper is adhered to the bottom of a 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Some 1/8″ Melon Mambo Stitched Ribbon hides the seam and is adhered in back, then the Whisper White layer added to the front of the Melon Mambo note.
The images were stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Memento Black Ink, use the Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen to color, then cut with the Layering Circles Framelits, and adhere to a larger Scallop Layering Circle of Melon Mambo. Pop them up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The matchbook is 3-1/2 x 8 Basic Black, scored at 3-1/4, 3-1/2 and 7-1/4. Staple the bottom close to the fold. Add a 1/2 x 3-1/2 strip of coordinating Pop of Pink DSP to the front to hide the staple.
For the front, a 3-1/4 x 3 piece of Whisper White cardstock has a 1-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of DSP along the bottom. The mixing bowl is stamped with Memento Black and cut out. The greeting is offset on a larger Layering Circle, and the Scallop Layering Circle is cut from DSP. A little 1/8″ Ribbon bow is added with a Mini Glue Dot.

CCMC441 Nailed It

It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! We have a very fun sketch for you to try this week!

I used the new set, Nailed It with Urban Underground Designer Paper for my card this week!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Black cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Delightful Dijon cardstock.
Across the front is a 1/2 x 4 strip of Urban Underground DSP.
Two 2″ squares of Urban Underground Designer Paper were cut and had corners rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder and overlapped on the front.
A 1-3/4″ square of Basic Black cardstock was stamped using the screw from Nailed It and Whisper White Craft Ink and corners rounded and adhered on the front.
The “pocket” was punched with the Best Badge Punch from DSP, rounded at the bottom, then “stitching” added with a Black Stampin’ Write Marker. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The hammer, screwdriver and wrench from Nailed It Stamp Set were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Smoky Slate and cut with the Build It Framelits, colored the handles with Delightful Dijon, and tucked in the pocket.
The centers of the bolts in the Build It Framelits were cut from Silver Metallic cardstock and used as accents in the background.
Nailed it was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.

SUOC166 Sealed with Love

The theme this time over on SUO Challenges (SUOC166) is Embossing…heat or dry! I wanted to use my new Falling Petals Embossing Folder…the little hearts are perfect for a Valentine card, too!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock, angled on the front.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Real Red cardstock is embossed with the Falling Petals Embossing Folder.
The FREE Sale-A-Bration ribbon 3/8″ Metallic Silver is wrapped around at an angle and tied with a knot (I’m LOVING this ribbon!)
Love Note greeting is stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Love Notes Framelits. The envelope Framelit is cut from Sending Love Designer Paper. Both are adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The small heart Framelit was cut from Red Glimmer Paper and added to the Love Note.
