Halloween Happiness

Ok…first things first…a new picture of my grandbaby!  He is 11 weeks old in this photo from last week.  Love his smiles, although right now it is a challenge to capture them with the camera!  One funny thing is that he giggles in his sleep…it is the cutest sound.  He must be having happy dreams!  Here he is wide awake…can just see the how ornery he is going to be when he gets older, can't you?

 

 

Now onto my card.  Although we are doing Fall cards for the last 3 weeks of the Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection subscription, I reverted to a Halloween card for today!  This one is simple and it used up several "starts" on my desk!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock folded in half.
  2. I cut a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock and added the 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 Witches Brew Designer Paper to the bottom portion. 
  3. I embossed the top portion of the Basic Black that was still showing with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.
  4. I added a 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip of the striped pattern in Witches Brew DSP to hide the seam.
  5. I stamped the Halloween Happiness image with Black Stazon on Pumpkin Pie and cut it with the Apothecary Accent Framelit.
  6. I placed the Vanilla Candy Dots on each side tab for a little bling.
  7. I cut a small 1 x 1/2 piece of Basic Black cardstock and a 1/2 x 1 piece of DSP with flag ends for the little banners coming down under the Apothecary Accent.  Love that little touch!

I used Wetlands for my Card "Create"tions card set this past week on the Fall Collection card week, so I thought I'd show off one more card using this set!  I love it and definitely has a "fallish" look to it, don't you think?

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The 4 1/4 x 11 base of Crumb Cake is folded in half to make the base card.
  2. I cut a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Chocolate Chip to place on top.
  3. Then I used a 3 1/2 x 3 3/4 piece of Whisper White that I embossed with the Woodgrain Folder and swiped the Chocolate Chip ink pad over top to bring out the raised areas.
  4. I stamped the goose from Wetlands on a scrap piece of Whisper White, then cut it with the Deco Label Framelit.  I sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  I also colored it lightly with the AquaPainter and Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry  ink.  I placed it on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. I stamped Hello from A Dozen Thoughts in Chocolate Chip on 1/2" Crumb Cake cardstock and cut a flag end.
  6. To finish it off, I used 3 of the Crushed Curry Candy Dots above the greeting.

CCMC267 Harvest of Thanks

Oh, we have a FUN and DIFFERENT challenge for you this week over on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  Are you ready?  Do you think you can do it?  I do!!!  Grab your stamps and play along with us!  Our challenge is to combine this sketch with a POCKET card!  I love making pocket cards…so easy to also slip in a gift card with it!

 

 

And here is my pocket card.  Can you tell what I used for the base of the pocket?  It's the new ENVELOPE LINER Framelit!  Made it SOOOO easy!  All I did is fold my cardstock in half before I cut it with the Envelope Liner Framelit, then folded one of the tops down to the front and added Sticky Strip along the sides!  QUICK and easy!  And you thought you didn't NEED that envelope liner…lol!

 

 

Here is the inside.  I added a Magnificent Maple leaf inside.

 

 

So…want the details?  Here you go!

  1. I cut 5 1/2 x 11 piece of Soft Sky cardstock and folded it in half.  I used the Medium Envelope Liner and placed the folded edge just above the bottom cutting edge of the Framelit, then ran it thru the Big Shot.
  2. I scored the top just at the base of the flap, then added Sticky Strip to the sides and closed the pocket.
  3. I cut the piece of Sweater Weather Designer Paper to fit the front, then trimmed off the sides that taper.  I also cut a piece of coordinating Sweater Weather DSP for the banner.
  4. I stamped Thanks image from Harvest of Thanks twice on Naturals White, once in Soft Sky and once with Chocolate Chip, then cut out the center portion of Soft Sky and layered over the Chocolate Chip.  It is cut with the Apothecary Accent and placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. Inside I cut a piece Naturals White 3 3/4 x 5 and added a 3/4" strip of Sweater Weather DSP across the top.  I inked the Magnificent Maple image with Crushed Curry (and used a sponge dauber to add some Chocolate Chip), then stamped. 
  6. I also stamped the Gratitude greeting with Chocolate Chip and cut it out, then placed it with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. At the top I made a pull-out tab from the Apothecary Accent cut from Crushed Curry cardstock.  On it I placed a lollipop ribbon flower made with the Crochet Trim and a Natural Button in the center.

Magnificent Maple

Well, yesterday I mentioned that I had used the cut out Apothecary Accent Framelit piece from yesterday's card on another card for a TWO-FER!  Here's the card that I made with that piece as the focal element.  You can see I cut it out after I had embossed and sponged ink on it!  This fits The Paper Players fall theme challenge this week, too!

 

 

This card is an excellent way to use up those scraps that accumulate in your designer paper piles.  Here are the details:

  1. The 4 1/4 x 11 base is Chocolate Chip cardstock folded in half.
  2. I sponged and distressed around the edges of the Sweater Weather Designer Paper with Chocolate Chip Ink.  See the "knit" pattern in the Tangerine Tango print?  Love it!
  3. I added three strips of 3/4 x 4 1/2 designer paper in the same package and cut flag ends on each side.
  4. I stamped the Crumb Cake Apothecary Accent Framelit (from yesterday) piece with A Dozen Thoughts with Chocolate Chip ink and placed over the DSP strips with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. I stamped the Magnificent Maple leaf with Chocolate Chip on Crushed Curry cardstock and cut it out, then placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I tied a knot in Early Espresso 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon and added it with a Mini Glue Dot.
  6. Oh darn…I forgot to add the Candy Dots on each tab of the Accent!  Oh well, that is what I meant to do!  lol!

So, do you like my TWO-FER???  I do!

Gently Falling

I was surprised that I hadn't used Stampin' Up!'s Gently Falling stamp set yet for any fall cards this year.  It really is one of the prettiest set of leaves I own!  I combined it with Sweater Weather Designer Paper!

 

 

I hope you can see that I cut out the Apothecary Accent and then placed Designer Paper behind it.  Come back tomorrow to see what I did with the cut out piece!  It's a TWO-FER…you know…two uses out of one!  lol!

 

Here are the details on this card:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 of Cajun Craze, folded in half.
  2. I embossed the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with Stylish Stripes.  Then sponged the lines with Crumb Cake ink.
  3. I cut out the opening with the Apothecary Accents Framelit, then placed Sweater Weather Designer Paper behind the opening.
  4. I stamped one of the long leaves from Gently Falling in Crushed Curry, then outlined with Chocolate Chip.  I did the two smaller leaves with stamped-off Cajun Craze and outlined in Chocolate Chip.  Then I cut them out.  I also stamped two acorns with Crumb Cake and outlined with Chocolate Chip and cut out.
  5. The leaves are placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I did a double loop bow from Linen Thread and adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.
  6. Finally, I added a Very Vanilla strip of cardstock stamped with A Dozen Thoughts greeting.  LOVE that set and so glad I purchased it!

Halloween Happiness

This is the first time I've shown off this fun Halloween stamp image here on my blog.  I thought it was fitting for the color challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary since we've been showing off Halloween projects all week.  On Saturdays during our Fall Collection, each of the designers will play along with the challenge, giving you some fantastic ideas!  And EVERYONE can play along!  Go check out the Design Team cards over on Create with Connie and Mary for some inspiration!  And…it's not too late to join the Fall Collection subscription while you are there!

 

Here's my card:

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The 4 1/4 x 11 Basic Black is folded in half to make the base card.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Summer Starfruit.
  3. I cut a 2 x 5" piece of Witches Brew Designer Paper and cut the flag end.
  4. I cut a 2 x 4" piece of Whisper White and stamped the Halloween Happiness stamp in Pumpkin Pie ink with the greeting in Basic Black.  I then stamped it again with Old Olive on scrap Whisper White and cut out just the stems to adhere over the Pumpkin Pie ones.
  5. I added a strip of Basic Black across the top of the Whisper White, then a 1/2" strip of the stripe design in Witches Brew DSP package under the Whisper White.
  6. As a final touch, I tied a bow of Linen Thread in a Basic Black Neutrals Button.

Halloween Hello

It's Halloween week over on Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection 2013, so I celebrated by making a Halloween card with the cute little Halloween Hello stamp set that Stampin' Up! has in the Holiday catalog!  I love that it has several greetings in it already.  And…I used up some of the "starts" on my desk!  Always a good thing!

 

 

Here are the details!

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Very Vanilla, folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Basic Black with a 1 x 5 1/4 strip of Witches Brew Designer Paper across the bottom portion.
  3. Then I added a 1/4 x 5 1/4 strip of Silver Glimmer Paper…so sparkly with NO mess!  Love it!
  4. I cut a full moon from Summer Starfruit cardstock with the Circle Framelits, stamped the Bats About You greeting with Black Stazon on it, then embossed it with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  I sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.
  5. I stamped two of the bats on scrap Very Vanilla and cut them out, then placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  (Wish I still had some of the googly eyes from last year…perfect for this set!)
  6. Finally I added a trio of Rhinestone jewels above the designer paper for a balance of the bling!

That's it…very clean and simple, but the Silver Glimmer and embossed moon gives it more of a step-it-up wow look, don't you think?
