CSF831 – Adventurous Sky

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge. It’s a great sketch this week!

ADVENTUROUS SKY

While waiting for my new box of Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog products to arrive, I pulled out Adventurous Sky Bundle to use on this card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crushed Curry cardstock scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
I added a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White to the front.
A 3/4 strip of Night of Navy end were cut at an angle and then was added towards the top.
Next is a 3 x 4-1/2 layer of Take to the Sky Designer Paper.
I stamped the plane with Night of Navy Ink on Basic White cardstock, colored it with Daffodil Delight, Light Basic Black, and Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends, then cut with the Adventurous Sky Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Adhesive Backed Textured Dots were added to the prop and the background
You’re the Best from Adventurous Sky was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on 3/4 x 3 Crushed Curry cardstock and the ends cut on an angle. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CS154 – Delicate Forest

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. Our August theme is “Scenic”.

DELICATE FOREST

This Delicate Forest arch die is so fun to use. I used it to frame the Lily Pond Lane Designer Paper on this easy to make card! Once again, I only used the Designer Paper and cut out the cute little ducks for the focal point.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
I cut the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White with the arch from Delicate Forest Dies.
Next, I cut a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 piece of the Lily Pond Lane Designer Paper and adhered it behind the Basic White cut out layer, then added to the front of the base card.
The mama duck and baby were hand-cut from the DSP and added to the pond with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the greeting with Pretty Peacock Ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock and cut with the Delicate Forest Label Die, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I also added a trio of Iridescent Adhesive Backed Discs around the greeting

IM345 – Flowers of Beauty

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a pretty, lacy window panel!

FLOWERS OF BEAUTY

I kind of struggled with this inspiration piece. I did know I wanted to use the Eyelet Embossing Folder, though! And white on white seemed appropriate! It’s funny…Azure Afternoon was one of the colors that initially I thought I’d use a LOT, but I’ve found that I’ve probably only used it a handful of time since they introduced the new colors last year!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Next, I embossed a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White cardstock with the Eyelet Embossing Folder and added it on top.
Then I added a 1 x 3-1/2 strip of Lighter Than Air DSP (Online Exclusive) towards the bottom with the ends cut at an angle.
I stamped the stem and outline stems from Flowers of Beauty on Basic White cardstock with Shaded Spruce Ink and cut with the Flowers of Beauty Dies.
And I stamped the flowers on Basic White cardstock with stamped off Azure Afternoon Ink and the centers full strength. They were cut with the Flowers of Beauty Dies and adhered to the stems. I popped them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Unbounded Love Stamp Set was stamped with Azure Afternoon Ink on 1/2 x 2-1/2 strip of Balmy Blue cardstock and popped up on the DSP.
Finally, I added a trio of blue In Color Opaque Sparkle Dots to the background.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Latch Cards

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. It’s a new month and we will be doing fun-fold cards! This week’s challenge is Latch Cards…something that has a mechanism to help keep it closed!

MAGNOLIA MOOD

The first thing I picked out to make this card was the Wildly Flowering Designer Paper…it is SO pretty! The colors and stamp set were chosen from there. Next was the closing mechanism…the Something Fancy Die worked for the Magnolia Mood greeting size…and adding the small flower in Magnolia Mood worked perfectly on this Angled Gate Fold card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 11 Moody Mauve cardstock, scored at 3-3/8 and 7-5/8.
Along both sides, I placed a small pencil dot at the 1-1/2 mark. At 1″ from each bottom corner, I added another pencil dot. The angles were cut with my Stampin’ Trimmer.
I embossed only the left angled side with the Eyelet Embossing Folder.
I cut the Wildly Flowering DSP at 3-1/8 x 5-1/4 and repeated the pencil marks and cut angles with the same measurements as above for the layer on the right side (repeat if you want DSP on the left side, too, just make sure your directional patterns line up correctly.)
I stamped the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock with the small magnolia flower in Mossy Meadow Ink and colored with Dark Soft Sea Foam, Light Bubble Bath and Light Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends. I adhered the layer to the inside.

I created the latching mechanism by cutting the Something Fancy Label Die from Basic White cardstock and stamped the Magnolia Mood greeting with Moody Mauve Ink.
I stamped another small Magnolia Mood flower with Mossy Meadow ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with the same Blends as above. It was cut with the Magnolia Mood Dies.
I add Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back left side of the label and the flower, then added them to the left angled panel on front. I made sure the right panel would slide under the mechanism and hold the card closed.

A trio of blue In Color Sparkle Dots were added to the background and label.

CSF830 – Market Goodness

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge. It’s a pretty color challenge this week!

MARKET GOODNESS

I grabbed the To Market Designer Paper because I knew it had these colors in it. First thing that caught my eye was this bouquet of flowers with Blackberry Bliss flowers and Garden Green stems! Perfect!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Blackberry Bliss cardstock scored at 5-1/2.
A 2 x 4 piece of Blackberry Bliss plaid To Market Designer Paper was added to a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
The row of Xs was stamped twice above and twice below the DSP with Pecan Pie Ink.
Garden Green cardstock was cut with the Spotlight on Nature circle, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower bouquet was hand-cut from the DSP and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thanks a Bunch greeting was stamped with Garden Green Ink on Basic White and hand-cut around the letters, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Linen Thread was tied in a small bow and added to the bouquet stems.
Three Transparent Dots were added to the background and the circle.

CS153 – Frosted Forest

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. It’s the first Tuesday of the month and our August theme is “Scenic”. Stampin’ Up! has a LOT of scenic type images in their line-up so this should be fun!

FROSTED FOREST

I really like this Frosted Forest Bundle (Online Exclusive), especially since it includes the MASKS in the bundle price! Masks make it very easy to color. On this card, however, the stark look of the black die-cuts against the Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper really pops! And NO stamping…except the greeting!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pretty Peacock was embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder (Online Exclusive)
The Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper was cut with the Deckled Circle Die and added towards the left on the front of the Pretty Peacock layer, cutting off the excess.
The tree silhouette and bird images were cut with the dies from Basic Black cardstock and adhered to the circle.
Some black Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack was wrapped around the Lost Lagoon layer and adhered in the back.
The greeting was stamped on 5/8 x 1-3/4 piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock with Memento Black Ink and added over the twine with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

TRUSTY TOOLS

Of course, Trusty Tools came to mind immediately when I saw this challenge. But instead of doing a collage, I chose to focus on just the drill. I love the drill die that is in this bundle!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Two 1 x 5-1/2 strips of Take to the Sky DSP were added on each side.
The peg board was cut from Basic White cardstock with the die and adhered to the front.
The Spotlight on Nature circle was cut with the die from the Take to the Sky DSP and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The drill was cut from Mossy Meadow and Night of Navy cardstocks with the die, then paper pieced to combine the two colors as shown. The drill bit was cut from Smoky Slate with the dies. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on a 1 x 3 piece of Boho Blue cardstock and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of blue Tinsel Gems Four Pack were added to the background.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Elegant Edges

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. It’s a new month and we will be doing fun-folds this month! This week’s challenge is Elegant Borders! Use a pretty edge on our cards!

GREETINGS OF THE SEASON

I love the pretty Season of Green & Gold Designer Paper…especially the bells! But I didn’t get the bundle. I figured out that I could use just the DSP with a greeting from Greetings of the Season for today’s card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 3 and 7-1/4.
The 3″ side panel was cut with the Around the Bend leaf curve die.
A 3-3/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Season of Green & Gold 12×12 Designer Paper was added to the far-right side making sure that the print is going the correct direction when it is folded into the center.

A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the inside Seasons of the Season greeting in Mossy Meadow Ink and adhered inside the center panel.

For the front, a 2″ circle was punched from Soft Sea Foam using the 2″ Circle Punch and stamped with the greeting from Greetings of the Season in Mossy Meadow Ink. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the left side only.
Two pine boughs were cut with the Winterly Tree Tops Dies and added to the bottom of the circle.
The bells were hand-cut from the Season of Green & Gold DSP and added over the pine boughs with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of white Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added to the background and circle.

This would be a SUPER easy card to make for the holidays! And it’s lots of fun because it has a special fold!
