CS136 – Magnolia Mood

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Nature” cards.  Stampin’ Up! has so many great sets for this category!

MAGNOLIA MOOD

I thought this one image looked like a seed pod or flower bud, so created this card and made my own “DSP”.

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pecan Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock was stamped randomly along the edges with the Magnolia Mood pod/bud image in Pecan Pie Ink.
  • The single leaf was stamped randomly to fill in with Crushed Curry Ink.
  • The greeting from Magnolia Mood stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie on 3/4 x 3-1/2 and the right side torn.  It was layered on a 1/4 x 4 piece of Pecan Pie cardstock also torn on the right side.
  • Some Linen Thread was wrapped a couple times in a loop, and adhered to the front.  The greeting was added over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Pecan Pie Opaque Ovals were added in the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – In The Spotlight

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “In the Spotlight”.  We are showcasing the spotlight technique…highlight one area of a design with the rest of the design neutral!  Should be fun!

BLUEBERRY BUSHEL

I’m happy to see that the Blueberry Bushel stamp set will be on the Online Exclusives List going forward (at least for a while!).  I think it is a cute set and it was easy to do this technique with it!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Blueberry Bushel cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • Two 3/4 x 6 pieces of Glorious Gingham DSP were added diagonally on the front, then the ends were trimmed off.
  • The Deckled Rectangle Die was cut from Basic White cardstock and stamped with the blueberry branch and greeting in Memento Black Ink.
  • A second image was stamped on scrap Basic White, then cut with the Deckled Circle Die.  It was colored with Balmy Blue Combo, Light Azure Afternoon, Light Blueberry Bushel, Lemon Lime Twist Combo and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of blue Tinsel Gems Four Pack were added to the background.

CSF812 – Pansy Patch

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge. Isn’t this a pretty color combination?

PANSY PATCH

When the retirement lists come out, I like to go back through my stamps and use them a couple more times before they retire!  This color combo was cool to use with Pansy Patch Stamp Set!  Those little pansy faces are popping up all around here this spring!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Berry Blisscardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was stamped with the Pansy Patch greeting in the upper right corner with Berry Burst Ink.
  • A 2 x 4 piece of Brights 6×6 DSP was added along the bottom.
  • A 3/8 x 4 strip of Petal Pink cardstock was added to hide the seam.
  • The pansy base was stamped off with Berry Burst Ink, the full strength for the darker detail.  The center was stamped with Petal Pink and the “eye” with Basic Black Ink.  They were cut with the Pansy Dies.
  • The leaves were stamped off with Coastal Cabana Ink and the veins full strength for the darker detail.  They were cut with the Pansy Dies.
  • Some Linen Thread was wrapped in a circle several times and added to the front with the pansies and leaves added over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Glossy Dots Assortment were added to the background!

CS135 – Flower Cart

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends’ Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Nature” cards.  Stampin’ Up! has so many great sets for this category!

FLOWER CART

Here’s a quick and easy card using this Flower Cart stamp set!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Berry Burst Glorious Gingham Designer Paper was added on top.
  • Next a 1 x 4 strip of Lemon Lime Twist was added towards the left side.
  • The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Basic White was cut with the Deckled Rectangle Die, then stamped the pots from Flower Cart stamp set with Pecan Pie Ink, the ground pebbles with Gray Granite Ink, the leaves with Lemon Lime Twist Ink and the flowers with Berry Burst Ink in the lower right corner.
  • The greeting was stamped with Berry Burst Ink in the upper left corner and the Basic White added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of In Color Pearls were added to the background and pot.

Saturday Blog Hop – Texture Time

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Texture Time”.  We are to feature a type of texture…embossing folder, paste, or whatever medium we want to use!  As you know,

Mary is retiring at the end of  March, so this is her last Saturday Blog Hop post!  Safe travels, Mary!  Debbie Henderson will be taking over her spot as my partner with Create with Stamping Friends!

ARTISTICALLY INKED

As the Retiring Lists come out, it makes me go through my “older” sets and want to use them again a couple last times!  One of my favorites when it came out was Artistically Inked and I’ve used several of the retiring In Colors!  I’ve also paired it with the Layered Florals Embossing Folder for lots of texture and an updated look!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Layered Florals EF and added to the front.
  • A 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Smoky Slate cardstock was added across the bottom.
  • The flower was stamped on Basic White with Sweet Sorbet, the smaller flowers and greeting with Tranquil Tide, and the leaves with Parakeet Party, all were cut with the Artistic Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Iridescent Pearls were added to the centers of the flowers.

CCMC811 – Fluffiest Friends

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  It’s another great sketch challenge this week!  I love sketches as a “jumping off” point to get started on my card making!

FLUFFIEST FRIENDS

I had forgotten about this sweet little bunny in the Fluffiest Friends stamp set, but he makes a perfect little Easter Bunny!  This card will go to my granddaughter…she’ll love the colors!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • Two 3/4 x 5-1/4 strips of Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper were added to the right side.
  • The 3 x 3-3/4 Basic White was blended with Pool Party Ink and a Blending Brush in the center, then Garden Green blended along the bottom.
  • It was stamped with the Fluffiest Friends row of flowers along the bottom in Garden Green Ink.  I used just the end of the “nest” image to make blades of grass along the bottom.  They were colored with Bubble Bath, Berry Burst, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  Happy Easter was stamped with Pebbled Path Ink in the upper left corner.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Thoughtful Expressions label was cut with the die from Bubble Bath Ink and cut in half, then added to the top of the Basic White, slightly hanging over the top.
  • The bunny from Fluffiest Friends was stamped with Pebbled Path Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Light Gray Granite and Light Bubble Bath and Light Berry Burst Stampin’ Blends, the cherry with Sweet Sorbet Blends.  It was cut with the Fluffiest Friends Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Birthday” cards.  I am always needing birthday cards!

EVERYDAY DETAILS

I just picked up this Everyday Details Bundle…mostly because I love the die shapes in it!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 4 piece of Delightful Floral Designer Paper (Online Exclusive) was cut with the lattice die towards the left side.  It was added to the front.
  • The large circle was cut with the die from Basic White cardstock and blended the center with Bubble Bath Ink and a blending brush, then the Everyday Details greeting was stamped in Berry Burst Ink.  It was added to the front.
  • The flower vase from Everyday Details was stamped with Basic Gray Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Bubble Bath, Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut and added to the circle on the left with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of green Shiny Adhesive Backed Sequins (Online Exclusive) were added to the large flower center and background.

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is a fun Easter egg home decor piece!

EXCELLENT EGGS

Yep…just had to use my Excellent Eggs Bundle for today’s card!  I’m jealous that Mary found that DSP for her card and used those dies for her flower that were perfect!  But I think mine turned out pretty sweet, too.  I ended up having to reverse the colors, but it worked out with the same idea!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.  The Excellent Eggs greeting was stamped in the lower right corner with Coastal Cabana ink.
  • A 4 x 4 piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock was embossed with the polka dot Basics Embossing Folder (Online Exclusive), then added to the front.
  • The largest egg was cut from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper with the Excellent Eggs Dies.
  • The 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock was cut on both sides with the scallop edge, then added to the front of the egg and trimmed.
  • The Basic White flower was cut with the Around the Bend Dies and the center from Daffodil Delight cardstock, then added to the band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The egg was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Shiny Adhesive Backed Sequins (Online Exclusive) were added to the background.
